To provide a power supply device and a power supply method.SOLUTION: The power supply device 101 includes a supply terminal VI connected to the power generation device, a power storage terminal to which power based on power from the supply terminal is input and which is connected to the power storage device, a load terminal VOUT to which power based on power from the supply terminal is input and which is connected to the load, a first capacitor that stores power based on power from the supply terminal, a second capacitor that stores power based on power from the supply terminal, and a third capacitor that is provided between the power storage terminal and a node between the supply terminal and the first capacitor. A first power supply circuit unit that switches whether or not to supply power to the power storage device based on the amount of power stored in the first capacitor, a second power supply circuit unit that is provided between the second capacitor and the load terminal and switches whether or not to supply power to the load based on the amount of power stored in the second capacitor, and a current control unit that is provided between the first capacitor and the second capacitor and adjusts the amount of current supplied to the second capacitor.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
