Abstract

To secure aseismatic safety in construction accompanied by demolition of an existing building without installing a temporary reinforcing member on a large scale.SOLUTION: A remodeling method for an existing building includes a separation step of separating an upper structure and a lower structure of the existing building, a seismic isolation device installation step of installing a seismic isolation device including a spherical sliding bearing between the separated upper structure and lower structure, and a new upper structure construction step of demolishing or repairing the upper structure to construct a new upper structure after the installation of the seismic isolation device.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
