Abstract
To provide a cleaning method capable of maintaining the ink removing function of the ink emitting surface of an ink jet recording head over a long period of time.SOLUTION: An ink jet recording head cleaning method for cleaning an ink ejection surface by rubbing the ink ejection surface with a wiper blade, wherein the ink is an oil-based ink containing a coloring material and an organic solvent, the organic solvent contains 5% by mass or more and 70% by mass or less of an ester-based solvent having a structure represented by the following general formula (1) and 20% by mass or more and 80% by mass or less of a saturated hydrocarbon solvent, the content of the organic solvent having a boiling point of 100 °C or higher in the ink is 70% by mass or more, and the wiper blade contains a nitrile rubber having an acrylonitrile content of 30% by mass or more: (In the formula, R1 and R2 each represent a linear or branched, saturated or unsaturated chain alkyl group, and may be the same as or different from each other. ) SELECTED DRAWING: None
