Abstract

To provide a negative electrode material for a lithium ion secondary battery having excellent cycle characteristics while using silicon having a large charge capacity, and to provide a negative electrode for a lithium ion secondary battery using the same.SOLUTION: The negative electrode material for the lithium ion secondary battery contains silicon particles and a binder resin, and contains both a conductive binder resin and a non-conductive binder resin as the binder resin. When the conductive binder was used as a part of the binder resin, the cycle characteristics were improved as compared with the case of using a conductive aid such as carbon black which has been conventionally used.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
