AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Conventional variable frequency on-board coils are affected by surrounding metal objects, particularly in vehicles with limited underfloor space such as light railway vehicles, where installation close to metal objects like wheels is necessary, leading to insufficient reduction of magnetic interference.

Method used

A variable frequency on-board coil design featuring a main body with a primary coil, secondary coil, and a coupling adjustment plate, covered by a metal cover with adjustable position, and a window section for easy adjustment, allowing installation in vehicles with limited space while minimizing magnetic interference from nearby metal objects.

Benefits of technology

The design enables precise adjustment of the coil's coupling to ensure accurate detection range despite proximity to metal objects, suitable for vehicles with restricted underfloor space, by accounting for and minimizing the influence of magnetic flux from nearby metal bodies.

Abstract

To provide a new technique of a variable frequency pickup in consideration of mounting on a vehicle having a limited underfloor space.SOLUTION: The frequency shift pickup 4 has a primary coil, a secondary coil, and an adjusting part 20 for supporting the coupling degree adjusting plate in a position adjustable manner in a body part 10. A lateral side and an upper side of the main body portion 10 are covered with a cover portion 30 made of a metal body. In the frequency shift pickup 4, the position of the coupling degree adjusting plate is adjusted with the cover part 30 attached. Since the position is adjusted in a state where the metal body (cover part 30) is present at a position close to the body part 10, the metal body is present around the frequency shift pickup 4 when attached to the vehicle, and the influence of the magnetic flux generated in the metal body on the secondary coil becomes extremely small. Even if the position of the degree-of-coupling adjustment plate is adjusted in the mounted state, it is possible to cope with the adjustment by a slight additional adjustment.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
