Abstract

To provide a non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery having excellent rate characteristics even when using a positive electrode in which different types of positive electrode active materials are mixed. [Solution] The non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery according to the present invention is a positive electrode for a non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery, comprising a positive electrode current collector and a positive electrode composite layer formed on the surface of the positive electrode current collector, wherein the positive electrode composite layer comprises a first positive electrode active material which is a layered compound represented by the general formula shown in the following formula (1), a second positive electrode active material which is represented by the general formula shown in the following formula (2) and which comprises a phosphate compound having an olivine structure and a coating made of a carbon material formed on the surface thereof, and a conductive additive, wherein the first positive electrode active material particles contain secondary particles (particles A) having an average particle diameter of 10 μm or more, and particles A are covered with carbon elements having an average thickness of 1 μm or more.
