Abstract

Provided is a coating method that can simultaneously coat PP resin and PBT resin while suppressing VOC emissions. [Solution] The painting method of the present invention is a painting method used in an automobile painting process when painting a bumper 1 having a structure in which a sensor retainer 12, a small part made of PBT resin, is incorporated into a bumper main body 11, a large part made of PP resin. This painting method is characterized by including a PP solvent primer application step of applying a PP solvent primer paint to the sensor retainer 12, a PP water-based primer application step of applying a PP water-based primer paint to the entire surface of the bumper 1 after the PP solvent primer paint has been applied, an aqueous base application step of applying an aqueous base paint to the entire surface of the bumper 1 after the PP water-based primer paint has been applied, and a clear coating step of applying a clear paint to the entire surface of the bumper 1 after the aqueous base paint has been applied.
