Abstract

The object of the present invention is to provide a method for recovering inorganic substances with high purity from a composition containing methacrylic resin and an inorganic filler. [Solution] A method for recovering inorganic substances from a composition, comprising: a step (2) of heating a composition (1) containing a methacrylic resin and an inorganic filler at 200 to 490°C in a system with an oxygen concentration of 0.001 to 9.0 volume%, to separate a gas containing methyl methacrylate generated by the thermal decomposition of the methacrylic resin; and a step (3) of heating the composition (1) at 500 to 1300°C in the system after step (2) to increase the purity of the inorganic substances, wherein the methacrylic resin is one or more selected from the group consisting of a methyl methacrylate copolymer (A) containing a crosslinked portion and a non-crosslinked methyl methacrylate polymer (B), and the amount of inorganic filler in composition (1) is 5 to 200 parts by mass per 100 parts by mass of methacrylic resin, and a method for recovering inorganic substances from a composition containing a methacrylic resin and an inorganic filler.
