Abstract
This reduces the delay difference between multiple signals transmitted in an optical communication system. [Solution] The system comprises an optical communication system that carries an nth down-multiplexed signal, including an nth down-signal and an nth test signal, from a first optical communication device to a second optical communication device using nth down-signal light of nth wavelength, and carries an nth up-multiplexed signal, including an nth up-signal and an nth test signal carried to the second optical communication device using nth down-signal light, from the second optical communication device to the first optical communication device using nth up-signal light of nth wavelength; a delay device that imparts a delay to the nth down-signal before and after transport by the optical communication system; and a control device that determines the round-trip delay of the nth wavelength signal light in the optical communication system based on the nth test signal before and after transport, and controls the amount of delay that the delay device imparts to the nth down-signal and nth up-signal based on the round-trip delay of the nth wavelength signal light.
