Abstract

The present invention provides a work machine capable of issuing a notification when an object is detected, and capable of suppressing the generation of unnecessary notifications. [Solution] The work machine includes an ambient sensor that acquires information about the area around the vehicle body, a notification device that provides notifications around the vehicle body, a controller that performs object detection processing around the vehicle body based on the information acquired by the ambient sensor and controls the notification device based on the results of the detection processing, and a start signal output device that starts the controller when at least one of a plurality of start conditions is met and outputs start information to the controller according to the met start condition. The controller sets an effective detection range according to the start information, and if an object is detected within the effective detection range by the detection processing, the notification device provides a notification.
