Abstract

It can detect sheets that have become entangled in the fixing rotating body and caused a sheet jam. [Solution] The control unit is provided with a stop process that stops the rotation of the fixing rotating body if the sheet conveyed from the fixing rotating body is not detected by the second detection unit after a set time has elapsed. For a first sheet whose sheet length in the conveying direction is a first length (S21; YES), the control unit conveys the first sheet with the conveying speed on the fixing rotating body set as a first speed when it is fed from the feeding unit at a set feeding speed (S22, S23). For a second sheet whose sheet length in the conveying direction is a second length shorter than the first length (S21; NO), the control unit conveys the second sheet with the conveying speed on the fixing rotating body set as a second speed that is slower than the first speed and is the speed at which the second sheet stops at a position detected by the first detection unit when the stop process is executed (S27, S23).
