Abstract

This enables program reprogramming without requiring CAN communication functionality or a connector for program rewriting. [Solution] The vehicle display device includes a processor 30, a memory 30 in which a program is stored in a rewritable area, a deserializer 80, a display unit 12, a communication port P7 that can rewrite the program without providing a CAN communication function or a connector usable for rewriting the program and can transmit the program to be rewritten received by the deserializer, a rewrite port BT provided on the processor for use in rewriting the program, and a back channel BW provided between the communication port and the rewrite port for transmitting the program to be rewritten from the communication port to the rewrite terminal via back channel communication.
