The suction unit reduces the possibility of malfunctions occurring in the suction unit by sucking up the powder generated by the plasticization of the material. [Solution] The plasticizing apparatus comprises a plasticizing section that plasticizes a material to produce a plasticizable material, a discharge port communicating with the plasticizing section and discharging the plasticizable material, a suction section that sucks up gas inside the plasticizing section, and a control unit that controls the plasticizing section and the suction section. The plasticizing section comprises a screw that rotates around a rotation axis, a case that houses the screw and has a material supply port for supplying material to the screw, and a communication section that connects the inside of the case to the outside of the case. The suction section comprises a flow path communicating with the communication section, a suction mechanism that sucks up gas inside the case through the communication section and the flow path, a pipe provided with at least a part of the flow path, and a filter housing section that houses a filter and is detachable from the pipe. The filter is provided in the flow path.
