Abstract

We provide technology that balances the antithrombotic properties and ease of use of medical devices. [Solution] A method for manufacturing a medical device comprising a plastic cloth substrate and a biocompatible layer supported on at least a portion of the plastic cloth substrate, wherein the biocompatible layer comprises a copolymer having constituent unit A derived from a monomer having a reactive group in its molecule that reacts with a hydroxyl group and constituent unit B derived from a (meth)acrylic acid ester represented by the following formula (I), and the method comprising plasma treatment of the plastic cloth substrate to generate hydroxyl groups on the surface of the plastic cloth substrate and reacting the hydroxyl groups with the reactive group.
