Abstract

[Solution] The energy storage system 1 comprises a power line PL connecting a plurality of battery modules M1 to Mn in series, a circuit breaker S1 connected in series with the battery modules M1 to Mn, a bypass switch S2 connected in parallel with the battery modules M1 to Mn and the circuit breaker S1, a plurality of bypass units B1 to Bn provided for each battery module M1 to Mn, a CR circuit 10 connecting the positive and negative sides of the power line PL with a capacitor C and a first resistor R1 connected in series, and a discharge circuit 11 connected in parallel with the capacitor C with a second resistor R2 and a discharge switch St connected in series.
