Abstract

This invention provides a method for laser processing watch components. [Solution] The method includes an operation to process the surface of a watch component inscribed in an XYZ Cartesian coordinate system. In this operation, a laser (20) is controlled to emit a laser beam (21) and to move the focal point (210) of the laser beam (21) to strike the surface (100) of the watch component (10) in response to a control command from a computer program, following a scanning strategy that includes a plurality of paths, each having a component in the Z direction and at least one of the X and Y directions, wherein the scanning strategy is defined such that the energy density emitted by the laser beam (21) varies across the entire surface (100) of the watch component.
