The condition of the dispensing part is inspected accurately. [Solution] A liquid dispensing device comprising: a first dispensing unit capable of dispensing liquid in accordance with the displacement of a first piezoelectric element due to a drive signal; a second dispensing unit capable of dispensing liquid in accordance with the displacement of a second piezoelectric element due to a drive signal; and an inspection unit that inspects the state of the first dispensing unit based on the potential of the first piezoelectric element during an inspection period included in a unit period when the drive signal is supplied to the second piezoelectric element during a unit period, wherein the inspection unit includes a first inspection mode for inspecting the state of the first dispensing unit when the first and second dispensing units are filled with liquid, and a second inspection mode for inspecting the state of the first dispensing unit for a shorter time than the first inspection mode, wherein the drive signal changes potential from a first potential to a second potential during the second period of the unit period, maintains the second potential during the third period following the second period of the unit period, the third period includes an inspection period, and the second period is longer in the first inspection mode than in the second inspection mode.
