This technology provides a way to shorten communication time while achieving highly reliable serial communication. [Solution] The transmitting device 1 continuously sends commands for write data divided into packets to the receiving device 2. The receiving device 2 receives the commands sent from the transmitting device 1, writes the data contained in the commands to the storage device 3, detects any communication errors that occurred when the commands were sent from the transmitting device 1, or when they occurred when the data was written to the storage device 3, and sends a response to the transmitting device 1 to notify it of the error if a communication error or a write error is detected.
