Abstract
This invention provides an external protection system for liquefied gas storage tanks and a method for forming the same, which can stably protect the liquefied gas storage tanks from physical, chemical, and environmental perspectives. [Solution] The storage tank body containing liquefied gas includes an insulating section disposed on the outer surface of the storage tank body and a protective section 120 disposed on the outer surface of the insulating section, wherein the protective section includes a first urea coating layer 121 disposed on the insulating section, a second urea coating layer 123 disposed on the first urea coating layer, and a reinforcing layer 122 which includes a plurality of reinforcing materials disposed in a part of the region between the first urea coating layer and the second urea coating layer and disposed at a distance from each other.
