AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

The presence of water vapor in ammonia gas reduces the pressure boosting efficiency of the blower in conventional ammonia treatment apparatuses, leading to decreased operation efficiency.

Method used

An ammonia treatment apparatus equipped with a first cooler to remove condensate water from water vapor in ammonia gas before it enters the blower, followed by an evaporator to liquefy the ammonia gas using a refrigeration cycle, which includes a refrigerator and a blower downstream of the cooler.

Benefits of technology

The first cooler stabilizes blower operation by removing moisture and cooling the ammonia gas, preventing a decrease in pressure boosting efficiency and ensuring stable operation.

Abstract

The present invention provides an ammonia processing apparatus that can suppress a decrease in the pressure boosting efficiency of the ammonia gas in the blower and suppress the rise in the blower outlet temperature when obtaining liquid ammonia from ammonia gas containing water vapor, thereby enabling stable operation of the blower. [Solution] The ammonia treatment apparatus comprises an ammonia refrigerator having a refrigeration cycle in which ammonia refrigerant circulates, a first cooler for cooling the ammonia gas by heat exchange with the ammonia refrigerant and removing condensate water derived from water vapor from the ammonia gas, and a blower provided downstream of the first cooler for pressurizing the ammonia gas. The ammonia refrigerator has an evaporator configured to evaporate the ammonia refrigerant and liquefy the ammonia gas by heat exchange between the ammonia refrigerant and the ammonia gas after it has passed through the blower.
