Summary of the Invention
Problems to be Solved by the Invention
[0004] However, in the above structure, since the camera is arranged so that the lens portion is exposed from the opening provided in the exterior part for vehicles, the boundary between the inside and the outside of the opening of the exterior part for vehicles is clearly separated, and the boundary between the camera and the peripheral parts of the camera in the vicinity of the camera arrangement is too conspicuous, and there is a problem that the appearance of the exterior part for vehicles is poor.
[0005] The present invention has been made in view of the above circumstances, and an object thereof is to provide an exterior part for a vehicle that makes it difficult to distinguish the boundary between a camera lens and its peripheral parts in the vicinity of the camera arrangement.
Means for Solving the Problems
[0006] One aspect of the present invention is a vehicle exterior part comprising a light-transmitting transparent substrate and a light-transmitting surface resin layer disposed on the surface side of the transparent substrate, wherein the surface resin layer comprises a plate-shaped base portion and a lens portion integrally molded with the base portion and protruding away from the transparent substrate from the surface of the base portion opposite to the transparent substrate side.
[0007] This configuration makes it possible to make the boundary between the camera lens and the surrounding components near the camera placement less noticeable. [Brief explanation of the drawing]
[0008] [Figure 1] This diagram schematically represents a vehicle equipped with a vehicle exterior component according to one embodiment of the present invention. [Figure 2] This is a cross-sectional view of the vehicle exterior component of the first embodiment when cut along the straight line II-II shown in Figure 1. [Figure 3] This is an enlarged view from the outside of a vehicle equipped with the vehicle exterior parts of this embodiment. [Figure 4] This is a cross-sectional view of a vehicle exterior component according to the second embodiment, taken by cutting along the straight line II-II shown in Figure 1. [Figure 5] This is a cross-sectional view of a vehicle exterior component according to the third embodiment, taken by cutting along the straight line II-II shown in Figure 1. [Modes for carrying out the invention]
[0009] Specific embodiments of the vehicle exterior parts according to the present invention will be described below with reference to Figures 1 to 5.
[0010] [First Embodiment] The vehicle exterior component 10 according to the first embodiment is a component mounted on a vehicle 1 and having a portion exposed on the exterior surface of the vehicle, as shown in Figure 1. The vehicle 1 is an electric vehicle, fuel cell vehicle, hybrid vehicle, engine vehicle, etc., in which the interior space is separated from the outside by doors, windows, pillars, and a ceiling.
[0011] The vehicle exterior component 10 is a vehicle component applied to a fixed window fitted into, for example, a vehicle pillar or window frame of a vehicle 1. In Figure 1, the vehicle exterior component 10 is assumed to be applied to the C-pillar 2 of vehicle 1. The vehicle exterior component 10 has a structure that allows a camera 3, positioned inside the vehicle, to photograph the outside of the vehicle through the vehicle exterior component 10. This structure can be applied to any part of the vehicle exterior component 10 where it is necessary to position the camera 3 and take photographs, regardless of the shape or size of the vehicle exterior component 10.
[0012] Camera 3 is a camera unit that captures images of the outside of vehicle 1. Camera 3 has, for example, a CCD or CMOS as an image sensor and a housing that covers the image sensor. Camera 3 is positioned in locations where it is necessary to capture images of the outside of vehicle 1. Camera 3 is oriented from the inside of the vehicle to the outside so that light from outside the vehicle is incident on it. Camera 3 is installed in locations suitable for achieving purposes such as detecting a person approaching the door of vehicle 1 or showing the driver of vehicle 1 areas outside the vehicle that are blind spots to the driver.
[0013] Furthermore, the camera 3 is covered by a cover 2a (see Figure 2) that is exposed to the interior space of the C-pillar 2, and may be positioned so as not to be exposed to the interior space. Also, the camera 3 may be positioned so that the front of its housing is in contact with the surface of the interior surface resin layer 40 (specifically, the interior surface) described later, or the front of its housing may be positioned away from the surface of the interior surface resin layer 40.
[0014] As shown in Figure 2, the vehicle exterior part 10 comprises a transparent base material 20, surface resin layers 30 and 40, and a decorative layer 50.
[0015] The transparent substrate 20 is a light-transmitting component. The visible light transmittance of the transparent substrate 20 is, for example, 80% or more. The transparent substrate 20 is formed in a plate-like shape. The transparent substrate 20 is molded from a transparent resin material such as polycarbonate (PC) or polyethylene terephthalate (PET). The thickness of the transparent substrate 20 is set in the range of, for example, 3 mm to 10 mm.
[0016] The surface resin layers 30 and 40 are each light-transmitting components. The visible light transmittance of the surface resin layers 30 and 40 is, for example, 60% or more. The surface resin layers 30 and 40 are provided to cover the transparent substrate 20. The surface resin layers 30 and 40 are hard coats provided, for example, to prevent scratches and dirt from adhering to the surfaces of the transparent substrate 20 and the decorative layer 50.
[0017] The surface resin layer 30 is a layer positioned on the exterior surface side of the transparent substrate 20. The surface resin layer 40 is a layer positioned on the interior surface side of the transparent substrate 20. In other words, the surface resin layer 30 and the surface resin layer 40 are positioned to sandwich the transparent substrate 20 in the inward and outward directions of the vehicle 1. Hereinafter, the surface resin layer 30 will be referred to as the exterior surface resin layer 30, and the surface resin layer 40 will be referred to as the interior surface resin layer 40.
[0018] The exterior surface resin layer 30 has a refractive index close to that of the transparent substrate 20. The interior surface resin layer 40 preferably has the same refractive index as the transparent substrate 20, but may have a refractive index close to that of the transparent substrate 20. The surface resin layers 30 and 40 are formed into thin plates from a transparent resin material such as polyurethane. The surface resin layers 30 and 40 are RIM (Reaction Injection Molding) molded onto the transparent substrate 20. The thicknesses of the surface resin layers 30 and 40 are smaller than the thickness of the exterior surface resin layer 30, for example, set in the range of 0.1 mm to 1 mm.
[0019] The vehicle exterior surface of the resin layer 30 that is exposed to the outside of the vehicle is formed to be substantially flat, but has a portion that protrudes outside the vehicle as the lens of the camera 3. That is, the vehicle exterior surface resin layer 30 has a base portion 31 and a lens portion 32.
[0020] The base portion 31 is a portion formed in a plate shape. The vehicle exterior surface of the base portion 31 is formed flat. The base portion 31 is formed such that the vehicle exterior surface becomes a glossy surface with a gloss. The vehicle interior surface of the vehicle exterior surface resin layer 30 is in contact with the transparent base material 20 or the decorative layer 50.
[0021] The lens portion 32 is a portion that functions as the lens of the camera 3 described above. The lens portion 32 is formed in a convex shape so as to protrude in a direction away from the transparent base material 20 from the surface of the base portion 31 on the side opposite to the transparent base material 20 side (that is, protrudes outward from the vehicle from the base portion 31). As shown in FIG. 3, the lens portion 32 is formed in a hemispherical shape. The lens portion 32 is integrally formed with the base portion 31. The lens portion 32 is configured as a single-focus fisheye lens having a focal length in the range of 5 mm to 15 mm. The lens portion 32 has, for example, a diameter in the range of 10 mm to 30 mm, a thickness in the range of 1 / 40 to 1 / 2 of the diameter, and a protrusion amount from the base portion 31 in a range that does not impair the wide-angle property of the viewing range (for example, 1 / 20 or more of the diameter) and is 1 / 2 or less of the diameter.
[0022] The camera 3 described above is disposed on the vehicle interior side with respect to the transparent base material 20. The lens portion 32 is provided at a location corresponding to the arrangement position of the camera 3 in the vehicle exterior surface resin layer 30 (that is, a location on the opposite side of the arrangement position of the camera 3 across the transparent base material 20). Note that the lens portion 32 is not limited to being provided at one location in the vehicle exterior surface resin layer 30, and when there are a plurality of cameras 3, it may be provided at a plurality of locations corresponding to the cameras 3. Each lens portion 32 can collect light incident at a wide-angle predetermined viewing angle (for example, 180°) centered on its arrangement position toward the spherical center side and emit it to the corresponding camera 3 side.
[0023] The decorative layer 50 is a layer that decorates the exterior surface of the vehicle 1 or conceals the interior side of the vehicle from view from the outside. The decorative layer 50 is interposed between the transparent substrate 20 and the exterior surface resin layer 30. The decorative layer 50 is formed using a film that has been decorated by, for example, printing, painting, vacuum deposition, or coloring. The decorative layer 50 is formed by, for example, attaching or transferring a film onto the transparent substrate 20. The thickness of the decorative layer 50 is set to, for example, a range of 0.1 mm to 1 mm. The decorative layer 50 blocks light from outside the vehicle, and its visible light transmittance is lower than that of the transparent substrate 20 and the surface resin layers 30 and 40, and it is preferable that its visible light transmittance is approximately zero.
[0024] The decorative layer 50 is provided in a location between the transparent substrate 20 and the outer surface resin layer 30 of the vehicle, avoiding the lens portion 32. That is, the decorative layer 50 has a through hole 51 corresponding to the lens portion 32. The through hole 51 is a hole that penetrates the decorative layer 50 in the inward and outward direction of the vehicle 1. As shown in Figure 3, the through hole 51 is formed with a circular cross-section corresponding to the hemispherical lens portion 32, and has a larger diameter than the diameter of the lens portion 32. The through hole 51 is positioned so that its axis passes through the center of the sphere of the lens portion 32.
[0025] The through-holes 51 of the decorative layer 50 are embedded so that the exterior surface resin layer 30 fits into them. That is, the exterior surface resin layer 30 enters the through-holes 51 of the decorative layer 50 and hardens during RIM molding onto the transparent substrate 20. The exterior surface resin layer 30 has an interior projection 33 that protrudes from the base portion 31 toward the interior so as to fit into the through-holes 51. Light from outside the vehicle that has passed through the lens portion 32 enters the interior camera 3 through the base portion 31 of the exterior surface resin layer 30, the interior projection 33, the transparent substrate 20, and the interior surface resin layer 40.
[0026] In the structure of the vehicle exterior part 10 described above, the outer surface resin layer 30 has a lens portion 32 that functions as the lens of the camera 3. The lens portion 32 is integrally molded with a plate-shaped base portion 31 in the outer surface resin layer 30 and is formed to protrude outward from the outer surface of the base portion 31.
[0027] In this structure, a lens portion 32 that functions as the lens of the camera 3 is integrally provided on a part of the exterior surface of the vehicle exterior part 10. Therefore, the lens of the camera 3 does not exist separately from the exterior surface of the vehicle exterior part 10, and it is not necessary to provide an opening in the vehicle exterior part 10 to expose the lens of the camera 3 to the outside of the vehicle. As a result, the boundary between the camera lens and the surrounding parts of the lens near the camera placement on the exterior surface of the vehicle 1 can be made less noticeable, thereby improving the appearance of the vehicle exterior part 10.
[0028] Furthermore, since the camera components other than the lens, such as the image sensor, are mounted on the camera body 3, which is positioned inside the vehicle beyond the transparent substrate 20 of the vehicle exterior part 10, exposure of the camera components other than the lens to the outside of the vehicle from the vehicle exterior part 10 is avoided. This prevents dirt from adhering to the camera 3 and water from entering, and also reduces the frequency of camera malfunctions and failures.
[0029] Furthermore, in the vehicle exterior component 10, the lens unit 32 is configured as a fixed-focus fisheye lens, capturing a wide-angle predetermined field of view (for example, an ultra-wide angle of 180°) from the exterior surface of the base unit 31. Therefore, it is possible to monitor a wide area around the vehicle 1 using the camera 3. In addition, the focal length of the lens unit 32 is in the range of 5 mm to 15 mm. Therefore, the camera 3 can be placed close to the transparent substrate 20, thus saving space in the placement of the camera 3.
[0030] However, in the vehicle exterior part 10, the visible light transmittance of the transparent substrate 20 is, for example, 80% or more, and the visible light transmittance of the surface resin layers 30 and 40 is, for example, 60% or more, so there is a risk that the interior side of the vehicle exterior part 10 will be easily visible from the outside of the vehicle 1. Therefore, in the vehicle exterior part 10, a decorative layer 50 is provided in the area between the transparent substrate 20 and the exterior surface resin layer 30, avoiding the lens portion 32. The decorative layer 50 has a lower visible light transmittance than that of the transparent substrate 20 and the surface resin layers 30 and 40, and blocks light from outside the vehicle. As a result, it becomes difficult to see the interior side from the outside of the vehicle in areas other than the lens portion 32 of the vehicle exterior part 10, and the concealment of the vehicle exterior part 10 can be improved.
[0031] [Second Embodiment] The vehicle exterior part 100 according to the second embodiment is a part that is mounted on the vehicle 1 and has a portion exposed on the exterior surface of the vehicle, as shown in Figure 1, similar to the vehicle exterior part 10 of the first embodiment. In the vehicle exterior part 100 of the second embodiment, the same reference numerals are used for components that are the same as those of the vehicle exterior part 10 of the first embodiment, and their descriptions are omitted or simplified.
[0032] The vehicle exterior part 10 of the first embodiment comprises a transparent base material 20, surface resin layers 30 and 40, and a decorative layer 50 interposed between the transparent base material 20 and the exterior surface resin layer 30, provided in a location that avoids the lens portion 32, wherein the decorative layer 50 has a through hole 51 corresponding to the lens portion 32.
[0033] In contrast, the vehicle exterior part 100 of the second embodiment, as shown in Figure 4, comprises a transparent substrate 20, an outer surface resin layer 110, an inner surface resin layer 40, and a decorative layer 120 interposed between the transparent substrate 20 and the outer surface resin layer 110, wherein the visible light transmittance of the decorative layer 120 is 1% or more.
[0034] The exterior surface resin layer 110 has the same configuration as the exterior surface resin layer 30 of the first embodiment, except that it does not have the interior protrusion 33. That is, the exterior surface resin layer 110 has a base portion 111 which has the same shape as the base portion 31, and a lens portion 112 which has the same shape as the lens portion 32. The interior surface of the exterior surface resin layer 110 is in contact with the decorative layer 120.
[0035] The decorative layer 120 has the same configuration as the decorative layer 50 of the first embodiment, except that it does not have through holes 51 and has a visible light transmittance of 1% or more. The decorative layer 120 is interposed between the transparent substrate 20 and the exterior surface resin layer 110 and is formed into a film shape. The decorative layer 120 transmits light from outside the vehicle and has a visible light transmittance of 1% or more. Light from outside the vehicle that has passed through the lens portion 112 enters the interior camera 3 through the base portion 111 of the exterior surface resin layer 110, the decorative layer 120, the transparent substrate 20, and the interior surface resin layer 40.
[0036] In the structure of the vehicle exterior part 100 described above, the outer surface resin layer 110 has a lens portion 112 that functions as the lens of the camera 3. The lens portion 112 is integrally molded with a plate-shaped base portion 111 in the outer surface resin layer 110 and is formed to protrude outward from the outer surface of the base portion 111. Therefore, in this structure as well, the boundary between the camera lens and the surrounding parts of the lens near the camera placement on the outer surface of the vehicle 1 can be made less noticeable, thereby improving the appearance of the vehicle exterior part 100 and achieving the same effects as the vehicle exterior part 10 of the first embodiment described above.
[0037] Furthermore, in the vehicle exterior part 100, a decorative layer 120 is provided between the transparent substrate 20 and the exterior surface resin layer 110, including the area where the lens portion 32 is provided. The decorative layer 120 has a lower visible light transmittance than that of the transparent substrate 20 and the surface resin layers 30 and 40. As a result, it becomes difficult to see inside the vehicle from the outside, including the area where the lens portion 112 is provided in the vehicle exterior part 100, making the lens portion 112 less conspicuous and further improving the concealment of the vehicle exterior part 100.
[0038] [Third Embodiment] The vehicle exterior part 200 according to the third embodiment is a part that is mounted on the vehicle 1 and has a portion exposed on the exterior surface of the vehicle, as shown in Figure 1, similar to the vehicle exterior part 10 of the first embodiment. In the vehicle exterior part 200 of the third embodiment, components that are the same as those of the vehicle exterior part 10 of the first embodiment are denoted by the same reference numerals, and their descriptions are omitted or simplified.
[0039] The vehicle exterior part 10 of the first embodiment comprises a transparent substrate 20, an exterior surface resin layer 30 disposed on the outside of the transparent substrate 20, an interior surface resin layer 40 disposed on the inside of the transparent substrate 20, and a decorative layer 50 interposed between the transparent substrate 20 and the exterior surface resin layer 30. The exterior surface resin layer 30 has a lens portion 32 integrally molded with its base portion 31, and the lens portion 32 is configured as a fisheye lens for the camera 3 to take wide-angle photographs of the outside of the vehicle.
[0040] In contrast, the vehicle exterior part 200 of the third embodiment, as shown in Figure 5, comprises a transparent substrate 20, an outer surface resin layer 210, an inner surface resin layer 220, and a decorative layer 230 interposed between the transparent substrate 20 and the outer surface resin layer 210, wherein the visible light transmittance of the decorative layer 230 is 1% or more, and the inner surface resin layer 220 has a base portion 221 and a lens portion 222 integrally molded with the base portion 221, and the lens portion 32 is configured not for use as a fisheye lens for the outside of the vehicle as described above, but as a convex lens for use in a camera 3 to magnify and photograph the outside of the vehicle (for example, for security purposes such as retinal authentication).
[0041] The exterior surface resin layer 210 has the same configuration as the exterior surface resin layer 30 of the first embodiment, except that it does not have a lens portion 32 and an interior protruding portion 33. The interior surface resin layer 220 has the same configuration as the interior surface resin layer 40 of the first embodiment, except that it has a lens portion 32. That is, the interior surface of the interior surface resin layer 220 that is exposed inside the vehicle has a portion that protrudes inward as the lens of the camera 3. The interior surface resin layer 220 has a plate-shaped base portion 221 and a lens portion 222 that functions as the lens of the camera 3.
[0042] The base portion 221 is a plate-shaped part. The outer surface of the inner surface resin layer 220 is in contact with the transparent substrate 20.
[0043] The lens portion 222 is formed in a convex shape, protruding away from the transparent substrate 20 from the surface of the base portion 221 opposite to the transparent substrate 20 (i.e., protruding inward from the base portion 221). The lens portion 222 is formed in a hemispherical shape. The lens portion 222 is integrally molded with the base portion 221. The lens portion 222 is configured as a single-focus magnifying lens with a focal length in the range of 5 mm to 15 mm. For example, the lens portion 222 is formed such that its diameter is in the range of 10 mm to 30 mm, its thickness is in the range of 1 / 40 to 1 / 2 of the diameter, and the amount of protrusion from the base portion 221 is within a range that does not impair the wide-angle nature of the field of view (e.g., 1 / 20 or more of the diameter) and is 1 / 2 or less of the diameter.
[0044] The decorative layer 230 has the same configuration as the decorative layer 50 of the first embodiment, except that it does not have through holes 51 and has a visible light transmittance of 1% or more. The decorative layer 230 is interposed between the transparent substrate 20 and the exterior surface resin layer 210 and is formed into a film shape. The decorative layer 230 transmits light from outside the vehicle and has a visible light transmittance of 1% or more. Light from outside the vehicle that has passed through the exterior surface resin layer 210 passes through the decorative layer 230, the transparent substrate 20, and the base portion 221 and lens portion 222 of the interior surface resin layer 220 and enters the camera 3 on the interior side of the vehicle.
[0045] In the structure of the vehicle exterior part 200 described above, the interior surface resin layer 220 has a lens portion 222 that functions as the lens of the camera 3. The lens portion 222 is integrally molded with the base portion 221 and is formed to protrude inward from the interior surface of the base portion 221. Therefore, in this structure as well, the boundary between the camera lens and the surrounding parts of the lens near the camera placement on the exterior surface of the vehicle 1 can be made less noticeable, thereby improving the appearance of the vehicle exterior part 200 and achieving the same effects as the vehicle exterior part 10 of the first embodiment described above.
[0046] Furthermore, in the vehicle exterior part 200, a decorative layer 230 is provided between the transparent substrate 20 and the exterior surface resin layer 210. The decorative layer 230 has a lower visible light transmittance than that of the transparent substrate 20 and the surface resin layers 210 and 220. As a result, it becomes difficult to see inside the vehicle from the outside, including the area where the lens portion 222 is provided in the vehicle exterior part 200, making the lens portion 222 less conspicuous and further improving the concealment of the vehicle exterior part 200.
[0047] Furthermore, the lens portion 222, which functions as the lens of the camera 3, is provided on the interior surface resin layer 220, which is located on the interior side of the vehicle, relative to the transparent substrate 20. As a result, the lens of the camera 3 does not protrude outward from the exterior surface resin layer 210, making the lens portion 222 less conspicuous and ensuring the flatness of the exterior surface of the vehicle exterior part 200.
[0048] [Transformed form] In the first, second, and third embodiments described above, the vehicle exterior parts 10, 100, 200 comprise a transparent substrate 20, exterior surface resin layers 30, 110, 210 positioned on the outside of the transparent substrate 20, and decorative layers 50, 120, 230 positioned between the transparent substrate 20 and the exterior surface resin layers 30, 110, 210. However, the present invention is not limited thereto, and if the decorative layers 50, 120, 230 have light transmittance and the same performance as the exterior surface resin layers 30, 110, 210, the exterior surface resin layers 30, 110, 210 located on the outside of the vehicle than the decorative layer 50 may be omitted, and the decorative layers 50, 120, 230 may be made multifunctional.
[0049] Furthermore, in the first and second embodiments described above, the vehicle exterior parts 10 and 100 are provided with an interior surface resin layer 40 positioned on the interior side of the transparent substrate 20. However, the present invention is not limited thereto, and the vehicle exterior parts 10 and 100 may not be provided with an interior surface resin layer 40 positioned on the interior side of the transparent substrate 20.
[0050] Furthermore, in the third embodiment described above, the interior surface resin layer 220, which is positioned on the interior side of the vehicle beyond the transparent substrate 20, has a lens portion 222 that protrudes inward from the base portion 221. However, the present invention is not limited thereto, and the interior surface resin layer 220, which is positioned on the interior side of the vehicle beyond the transparent substrate 20, may have a concave lens portion that is recessed outward from the base portion 221. In this modified configuration as well, the camera 3 can be used to magnify and photograph the outside of the vehicle, just as in the configuration of the third embodiment.
[0051] Furthermore, the present invention is not limited to the embodiments and modifications described above, and various modifications can be made without departing from the spirit of the invention. In addition, this specification not only discloses the technical concept indicated by the reference relationships described in each claim at the time of filing, but also discloses a technical concept that appropriately combines the matters described in each claim.
