Abstract

The present invention provides a method and system for the automatic identification of fluid relationships in a sectional measurement area (DMA) in a fluid supply network having distributed consumption meters. [Solution] The first step includes performing a fluid balance calculation between the fluid flow rate measured by the area flow meter and the fluid flow rate measured by one or more consumption meters. The second step includes identifying the fluid relationship between the area flow meter and one or more consumption meters in response to the fluid balance calculation and the measurement of acoustic noise in the fluid distribution network performed by one or more consumption meters. Finally, the step includes forming a group of one or more consumption meters that have been identified as having a fluid relationship with the area flow meter, thereby providing reliable automatic DMA generation.
