Description

TECHNICAL FIELD

[0001] The present invention relates to an installation for laser cutting of sheets of solid material, preferably metal sheets. BACKGROUND ART

[0002] It is known to cut sheets in order to obtain parts having desired shapes and sizes. One of the known methods is laser cutting, which is performed on the sheet by a laser head.

[0003] In installations where this type of cutting is performed, it is common to use two conveyor belts for conveying the sheet in a given conveying direction, and the conveyor belts are separated by a certain gap in this conveying direction. The head is positioned above the gap to irradiate the laser, so that the laser passing through the sheet after cutting will not damage the conveyor belts.

[0004] It is common that the head can be moved at least in the conveying direction and the opposite direction so that various shapes can be cut and / or the productivity of the installation can be improved. This creates the need that the gap must also be moved in these directions. DE102004034256B4 discloses a laser cutting installation, in which the gap is moved in the conveying direction and the opposite direction as required. PRIOR ART DOCUMENTS PATENT DOCUMENTS

[0005] PATENT DOCUMENT 1 DE102004034256B4 SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION PROBLEMS TO BE SOLVED BY THE INVENTION

[0006] The object of the present invention is to provide a laser cutting apparatus as defined in the claims. [Means for solving the problem]

[0007] The apparatus includes a movable laser head for cutting a sheet of solid material (preferably metal) as the sheet moves in the transport direction. The apparatus further includes a first transport device and a second transport device located downstream of the first transport device in the transport direction, the sheet being transported on the first and second transport devices, the transport devices separated by a certain gap in the transport direction. The laser head is positioned above the gap to cut the sheet so as not to damage the transport devices when the irradiating laser passes through the sheet to be cut.

[0008] The first conveying device comprises a movable conveying band on which the sheet to be cut is placed, and at least one upper support roller and one lower support roller supporting the conveying band, wherein the at least one upper support roller and one lower support roller are positioned at different heights and are movable in the conveying direction and the opposite direction. The second conveying device comprises a movable conveying band on which the sheet is placed, and at least one upper support roller and one lower support roller supporting the placed sheet, wherein the at least one upper support roller and one lower support roller are positioned at different heights and are movable in the conveying direction and the opposite direction. A gap is defined between the two upper support rollers. The movable conveying band has a certain tension to allow the sheet to be conveyed.

[0009] The equipment further includes at least one compensation mechanism coupled to each conveying device, the compensation mechanisms being independent of each other. Each compensation block comprises an upper compensation block coupled to the upper support roller and a lower compensation block coupled to the lower support roller of each conveying device, such that the compensation block moves in the conveying direction and the opposite direction together with the associated support roller. Each of these support rollers is coupled to the corresponding compensation block in a rotatable manner.

[0010] Each compensation mechanism comprises a tension-applying element connected to a corresponding upper compensation block and a corresponding lower compensation block for each conveying device (for each conveying band). The tension-applying element of the compensation mechanism for the first conveying device is configured to act a specific compensation force in the conveying direction, and the tension-applying element of the compensation mechanism for the second conveying device is configured to act a specific compensation force in the direction opposite to the conveying direction. Thus, these compensation forces help to apply the required tension to the corresponding conveying band.

[0011] In conveying devices, it is necessary to apply appropriate tension to the conveying band so that it can achieve high speeds and accelerations. This tension increases as the required speed and / or acceleration increases, and generates forces that must be supported by the elements cooperating with the corresponding conveying band (such as actuators and support rollers that cause its movement), and these forces increase as the tension increases.

[0012] To this day, this has meant that these elements must be sized and materials selected that can withstand these high forces. This may limit the speed and / or acceleration of the conveying equipment. Thanks to the compensation mechanism of the proposed equipment, each movable conveying band can be tensioned as needed and in an independent manner (and thus can be adapted to the requirements of each conveying band), and at the same time, as stated, the tension can be kept stable, and thus each tensioning element can support and compensate for the forces generated in the corresponding conveying band.

[0013] The force generated by the conveyor band of the first tension adjustment device acts in the opposite direction to the conveying direction, and thereby the compensating force acted by the compensation mechanism of the first conveyor device can compensate for these forces in the conveyor band. The force generated by the conveyor band of the second tension adjustment device acts in the conveying direction, and thereby the compensating force acted by the compensation mechanism of the second conveyor device can compensate for such forces in the tension band.

[0014] Therefore, the tension-applying element is an element that supports the force generated by the tensioned conveyor band, and the speed and acceleration of the conveyor band can be increased without negatively impacting the equipment and without changing or resizing the elements that cooperate with the corresponding conveyor band (rollers, guides, etc.). It is also important to emphasize that the compensation mechanism is directly associated with the support rollers of the conveyor band, thereby increasing the speed and acceleration because these forces are less easily transmitted to other elements (rollers, guides, etc.) that enable movement of the gap in the conveying direction and the opposite direction.

[0015] These and other advantages and features of the present invention will become apparent in light of the figures and detailed description of the invention. [Brief explanation of the drawing]

[0016] [Figure 1] This figure shows a perspective view of a laser cutting apparatus according to the present invention, without the laser head. [Figure 2] This figure shows a schematic side view of the conveying device of the equipment shown in Figure 1. [Figure 3] Figure 2 shows a plan view of the conveying device along with the sheet. [Figure 4a] This diagram shows the compensation mechanism of the first conveying device of the equipment shown in Figure 1. [Figure 4b] This diagram shows the compensation mechanism of the second conveying device of the equipment shown in Figure 1. [Modes for carrying out the invention]

[0017] The proposed apparatus 1000 is an apparatus adapted for laser cutting a sheet of solid material 200 (preferably a metal sheet), as shown as an example in Figure 1. The apparatus 1000 comprises a movable laser head 6 configured to irradiate the sheet 200, preferably from above, with a laser for cutting the sheet 200, and a control unit (not shown in the figure) for controlling the movement of the head 6 to cut the sheet 200 into a desired shape.

[0018] The equipment 1000 further includes a transport unit for transporting the sheet 200 during cutting in a transport direction T, preferably horizontal, and as a result, the equipment 1000 can have high productivity. In order to avoid the laser irradiated by the head 6 passing through the sheet 200 after cutting and thus causing damage to the transport unit, the transport unit is divided into a first transport device 1 and a second transport device 2 separated by a gap 5 in the transport direction T, so that the laser can pass through the gap 5 and not damage the transport unit. The second transport device 2 is positioned downstream of the first transport device 1 in the transport direction T, as shown in the figure.

[0019] The control unit is configured to act on the conveying devices 1 and 2 to move the gap 5 in the conveying direction T and the opposite direction to the same extent as the head 6 moves, and the equipment 1000 includes at least one block actuator 1.81 and 1.82 and 2.81 and 2.82 associated with each conveying device 1 and 2 to move the gap 5. Preferably, the size of the gap 5 is kept constant, but may be modified in a simple manner if necessary.

[0020] The first conveying device 1 includes a movable conveying band 1.3 and a band actuator 1.9. The movable conveying band 1.3 may be provided with a conveyor belt, and a sheet 200 to be cut is placed on the movable conveying band 1.3. The band actuator 1.9 moves the conveying band 1.3, thereby moving the sheet 200 in the conveying direction T. The band actuator 1.9 may be provided with, for example, a motor, and the control unit is configured to control the operation of the band actuator 1.9.

[0021] The second conveying device 2 includes a movable conveying band 2.3 and a band actuator 2.9. The movable conveying band 2.3 may be provided with a conveyor belt, the sheet 200 moves on the movable conveying band 2.3, and the band actuator 2.9 moves the conveying band 2.3, thereby moving the sheet 200 in the conveying direction T. The band actuator 2.9 may be provided with, for example, a motor, and the control unit is configured to control the movement of the band actuator 2.9.

[0022] The conveying band 1.3 is supported by at least one upper support roller 1.R1 and one lower support roller 1.R5 of the first conveying device 1, and the at least one upper support roller 1.R1 and one lower support roller 1.R5 are arranged at different heights. Next, the conveying band 2.3 is also supported by at least one upper support roller 2.R1 and one lower support roller 2.R5 of the second conveying device 2, and the at least one upper support roller 2.R1 and one lower support roller 2.R5 are arranged at different heights. The upper support rollers 1.R1 and 2.R1 face each other in the conveying direction T (with the conveying bands 1.3 and 2.3 interposed therebetween), and the lower support rollers 1.R5 and 2.R5 face each other in the conveying direction T (with the conveying bands 1.3 and 2.3 interposed therebetween). The gap 5 is defined between the upper support rollers 1.R1 and 2.R1 (see Figure 2, in which the frame 1001 of the installation 1000 is not shown for clarity).

[0023] The upper support rollers 1.R1 and 2.R1 and the lower support rollers 1.R5 and 2.R5 are movable in the transport direction T and the opposite direction, thereby allowing the gap 5 to move. The equipment 1000 comprises, when activated, respective block actuators 1.81 and 1.82 for causing the respective movement of the support rollers 1.R1 and 1.R5 of the transport band 1.3 of the first transport device 1, and respective block actuators 2.81 and 2.82 for causing the respective movement of the support rollers 2.R1 and 2.R5 of the transport band 2.3 of the second transport device 2, when activated. The control unit is configured to control the operation of the block actuators 1.81, 1.82, 2.81, and 2.82, causing the block actuators 1.81, 1.82, 2.81, and 2.82 to simultaneously produce the same displacement in the same direction for all support rollers 1.R1, 1.R5, 2.R1, and 2.R5. Each conveying device 1 and 2 preferably comprises at least one additional roller 1.R2 and 2.R2 supporting the corresponding conveying bands 1.3 and 2.3. Machine 1000 comprises elements not shown in the figure, such as rollers and / or guide devices, to facilitate and guide the movement of the support rollers 1.R1, 1.R5, 2.R1, and 2.R5 when the block actuators 1.81, 1.82, 2.81, and 2.82 are actuated.

[0024] The conveying band 1.3 has a section extending in the conveying direction T, on which the sheet 200 is placed. The section may extend between the upper support roller 1.R1 and the band actuator 1.9, as shown in Figure 2, or it may extend between the upper support roller 1.R1 and one of the additional rollers (an embodiment not shown in the figure).

[0025] The conveying band 2.3 has a section extending in the conveying direction T, on which the sheet 200 is placed. The section may extend between the upper support roller 2.R1 and the band actuator 2.9, as shown in Figure 2, or it may extend between the upper support roller 2.R1 and one of the additional rollers (an embodiment not shown in the figure).

[0026] The tension on conveyor bands 1.3 or 2.3 causes forces F1 and F2 around the corresponding support rollers 1.R1 and 1.R5, and 2.R1 and 2.R5, on the corresponding conveyor bands 1.3 and 2.3 (for clarity, Figure 2 identifies and displays forces F1 and F2 only around the upper support rollers 1.R1 and 2.R1). Conveyor bands 1.3 and 2.3 partially surround the corresponding support rollers 1.R1, 1.R5, 2.R1, and 2.R5, which support the two forces F1 and F2, as depicted in Figure 2. The force F1 supported by conveyor band 1.3 is in the opposite direction to the conveying direction T, and the force F2 supported by conveyor band 2.3 is in the conveying direction T (see Figure 2).

[0027] These forces F1 and F2, or tensions, are the result of the tensions of the corresponding conveyor bands 1.3 or 2.3. The higher the desired speed and acceleration of the conveyor bands 1.3 or 2.3, the higher the tension when the conveyor bands 1.3 or 2.3 are positioned to avoid improper displacement of the sheet 200 (for example, to prevent it from slipping). To compensate for these forces F1 and F2, the proposed equipment 1000 includes at least one respective compensation mechanism 8.1 and 8.2 for each conveyor device 1 and 2 (see Figures 4a and 4b).

[0028] Each compensation block 8.1 and 8.2 comprises upper compensation blocks 8.1A and 8.2A joined to their respective upper support rollers 1.R1 and 2.R1, lower compensation blocks 8.1B and 8.2B joined to their respective lower support rollers 1.R5 and 2.R5, and tensioning elements 8.10 and 8.20 connected to the two compensation blocks 8.1A and 8.1B, 8.2A and 8.2B. Each compensation block 8.1A and 8.1B, 8.2A and 8.2B moves in the transport direction T and the opposite direction together with the support rollers 1.R1, 1.R5, 2.R1 and 2.R5 to which it is joined. Preferably, block actuators 1.81, 1.82, 2.81, and 2.82 directly cause the movement of compensation blocks 8.1A and 8.1B, 8.2A, and 8.2B, while support rollers 1.R1, 1.R5, 2.R1, and 2.R5 move together with the compensation blocks 8.1A and 8.1B, 8.2A, and 8.2B.

[0029] The tension-applying element 8.10 of the compensation mechanism 8.1 of the first conveying device 1 applies tension so as to act a compensating force FC1 on a force F1 supported by the conveying band 1.3. In this way, the tension-applying element 8.10 absorbs or compensates for the force F1 of the corresponding conveying band 1.3 so that these forces F1 do not need to be supported, for example, by block actuators 1.81 and 1.82. Preferably, each block actuator 1.81 and 1.82 is coupled to their respective compensation blocks 8.1A and 8.1B so as to be possible to reduce the power of the actuator blocks 1.81 and 1.82. The compensating force FC1 acts in the direction of travel T opposite to the force F1.

[0030] The tension-applying element 8.20 of the compensation mechanism 8.2 of the second conveying device 2 applies tension so as to act a compensating force FC2 on the force F2 supported by the conveying band 2.3. In this way, the tension-applying element 8.20 absorbs or compensates for these forces F2 on the corresponding conveying band 2.3 so that the force F2 does not need to be supported, for example, by block actuators 2.81 and 2.82. Preferably, each block actuator 2.81 and 2.82 is coupled to their respective compensation blocks 8.2A and 8.2B so that the power of the block actuators 2.81 and 2.82 can be reduced. The compensating force FC2 acts in the opposite direction to the force F2 and opposite to the direction of travel T.

[0031] Since the tension-applying elements 8.10 and 8.20 may be cables, wires, strands, belts, or any other similar elements that may be under tension, the forces F1 and F2 generated in the corresponding conveyor bands 1.3 and 2.3 can be compensated by this tension.

[0032] Each support roller 1.R1, 1.R5, 2.R1, and 2.R5 is rotatably mounted to its corresponding compensation block 8.1A, 8.2A, 8.1B, and 8.2B, and rotates to facilitate movement when the corresponding conveyor bands 1.3 and 2.3 are moved.

[0033] Each compensation mechanism 8.1 and 8.2 further comprises at least one respective element roller 8.13 and 8.23, preferably functioning as a pulley, the at least one respective element roller 8.13 and 8.23 positioned within the paths of tension-applying elements 8.10 and 8.20 between two corresponding compensation blocks 8.1A, 8.2A, 8.1B, and 8.2B, and configured to support the corresponding tension-applying elements 8.10 and 8.20. The element roller 8.13 of the compensation mechanism 8.1 of the first conveying device 1 is positioned downstream of the compensation blocks 8.1A and 8.1B in the conveying direction T (see Figure 4a), and the element roller 8.23 of the compensation mechanism 8.2 of the second conveying device 2 is positioned upstream of the compensation blocks 8.2A and 8.2B in the conveying direction T (see Figure 4b).

[0034] Preferably, each compensation mechanism 8.1 and 8.2 comprises a tension adjustment device for adjusting the tension of the corresponding tension-applying elements 8.10 and 8.20 by operation. In some embodiments, such as the embodiments shown in the figures, the tension adjustment device comprises tension-applying rollers 8.14 and 8.24 that are surrounded by (or to which the tension-applying elements 8.10 and 8.20 are mounted) and function as tensioners. The tension of the tension-applying elements 8.10 and 8.20 can be adjusted by moving the corresponding tension-applying rollers 8.14 and 8.24 in the conveying direction T or the opposite direction. In other embodiments not shown in the figures, the tension adjustment device comprises one of the compensation blocks 8.1A, 8.2A, 8.1B, and 8.2B and tensioners associated with the corresponding tension-applying elements 8.10 and 8.20.

[0035] To facilitate the compensation of forces F1 and F2, it is preferable that the tension-applying elements 8.10 and 8.20 have sections extending from each compensation block 8.1A, 8.2A, 8.1B, and 8.2B in the conveying direction T (or the opposite direction), because this is the direction in which forces F1 and F2 are generated. For this reason, it is preferable that each compensation mechanism 8.1 and 8.2 comprises two element rollers 8.13 and 8.23, which are positioned in the paths of the tension-applying elements 8.10 and 8.20 between the two compensation blocks 8.1A, 8.2A, 8.1B, and 8.2B and are configured to support the corresponding tension-applying elements 8.10 and 8.20, and the direction of the tension-applying elements 8.10 and 8.20 is changed by cooperating with each element roller 8.13 and 8.23. The two element rollers 8.13 and 8.23 of each compensation mechanism 8.1 and 8.2 are positioned at different heights, preferably such that the tension-applying elements of each element roller 8.13 and 8.23 of each compensation mechanism 8.1 and 8.2 are positioned such that the tension-applying elements extend in the conveying direction T (or the opposite direction) between the element rollers 8.13 and 8.23 and the corresponding compensation blocks 8.1A, 8.2A, 8.1B, and 8.2B, thereby facilitating the compensation of forces F1 and F2. Preferably, the element rollers 8.13 and 8.23 of each compensation mechanism 8.1 and 8.2 are further aligned in the vertical direction. In the embodiments shown in the figures, the tension-applying rollers 8.14 and 8.24 are preferably positioned between the two corresponding element rollers 8.13 and 8.23 in the paths of the corresponding tension-applying elements 8.10 and 8.20.

[0036] Preferably, the equipment 1000 includes two compensation mechanisms associated with each conveying device 1 and 2, the two compensation mechanisms for each conveying device 1 and 2 being equivalent and arranged parallel to a direction transverse to the conveying direction T. Each upper support roller 1.R1 and 2.R1 is associated with the upper compensation blocks 8.1A and 8.2A of the two compensation mechanisms 8.1 and 8.2 associated with the same conveying devices 1 and 2, and each lower support roller 1.R5 and 2.R5 is associated with the lower compensation blocks 8.1B and 8.2B of the two compensation mechanisms 8.1 and 8.2 associated with the same conveying devices 1 and 2.
