Abstract

To improve the operability of ultrasonic probes. [Solution] The ultrasonic probe 10 has a head portion 12 that incorporates a transducer array 16 in which transducers for transmitting and receiving ultrasonic waves to and from a subject are arranged, and a rod-shaped grip portion 14 coupled to the head portion 12. Two recesses 20 and 22 are formed on the left and right sides of the grip portion 14, respectively, and are arranged along the longitudinal direction of the grip portion 14. The size of the hosel-side recess 20, which is closer to the head portion 12, is smaller than the other recess, the grip end-side recess 22.
