Description

Technical Field

[0001] The present invention relates to an oil-in-water sunscreen cosmetic, and more specifically, to an oil-in-water sunscreen cosmetic that achieves both a fresh feeling upon use and a unique powdery feel by containing specific components, does not cause a squeaky feeling, and is excellent in no secondary transfer effect and stability.

Background Art

[0002] In general, protecting the skin from the harm of ultraviolet rays is one of the important issues in skin care. Accordingly, various studies have been conducted to minimize the adverse effects of ultraviolet rays on the skin. For example, a method of protecting the skin from ultraviolet harm by covering the skin with a coating film containing an ultraviolet absorber or an ultraviolet scattering agent has been reported (Non-Patent Document 1).

[0003] However, to achieve a high SPF (Sun Protection Factor) value, it is necessary to incorporate a large amount of ultraviolet absorber or ultraviolet scattering agent. On the other hand, when a large amount of ultraviolet absorber or ultraviolet scattering agent is incorporated, deterioration of the feeling upon use such as stickiness and heavy spreadability tends to occur easily.

[0004] Furthermore, when aiming for a high SPF value with an oil-in-water emulsified cosmetic, it is necessary to incorporate a larger amount of ultraviolet absorber or ultraviolet scattering agent compared to a water-in-oil emulsified cosmetic. However, high incorporation of these components may lead to skin irritation or deterioration of the feeling upon use, giving rise to problems (Patent Document 1).

[0005] Contrary to the demand for high SPF values, consumers are seeking a fresh feeling upon use in sunscreen cosmetics. To impart a high SPF value, it is necessary to incorporate a large amount of ultraviolet absorber or ultraviolet scattering agent, but in many cases these are oil-soluble, which may impair the fresh feel.

[0006] As an example of an oil-in-water type sunscreen cosmetic with a refreshing feel, Patent Documents 2 and 3 report a sunscreen cosmetic with a refreshing feel that contains a UV absorber. On the other hand, consumers often seek a more comfortable feel in addition to a refreshing feel, such as a moisturizing and smooth feeling.

[0007] Furthermore, UV absorbers have safety concerns, and their inclusion makes sunscreens unsuitable for people with sensitive skin. Therefore, non-chemical sunscreens that do not contain UV absorbers have been developed.

[0008] Non-chemical sunscreens are formulations that do not use UV absorbers. However, if one tries to achieve a high SPF using only UV scattering agents, it is necessary to include a large amount of UV scattering agent in the formulation, which presents extremely difficult challenges such as deterioration of the formulation's stability and user experience.

[0009] On the other hand, the market demands sunscreens that are non-greasy and have a refreshing feel, and achieving both of these in non-chemical sunscreen formulations has been a major challenge.

[0010] Patent documents 4 and 5 report that by incorporating water-absorbing polymers to provide a refreshing and smooth feel, cosmetics that achieve both a refreshing and smooth feel by creating a unique melt-in-your-mouth texture. Patent document 4 states that a non-sticky, refreshing feel can be obtained even when oil-soluble UV absorbers are incorporated, but it does not address the problems that arise when high concentrations of UV scattering agents are used. Patent document 5 reports that a highly viscous, refreshing gel can be created by incorporating water-absorbing polymers, but it does not report a technology to develop a stable formulation that maintains its refreshing feel while incorporating high concentrations of UV scattering agents without causing a squeaky feeling.

[0011] To satisfy consumer demand, there is an urgent need to develop a sunscreen cosmetic that provides a refreshing feel upon application, a smooth and moderately moisturizing feel after application, and a high SPF value without the use of UV absorbers. However, no sunscreen cosmetic that fully meets these demands has been reported with conventional technology. While it is possible to provide a high SPF value, a refreshing feel, and a smooth feel after application, if a high concentration of UV protection agents is added, these sensations are compromised, and a satisfactory user experience cannot be obtained.

[0012] Furthermore, given the increasing frequency of mask-wearing in recent years and the need for sustained sunscreen protection, there is a demand for sunscreens that do not adhere to masks or clothing (Patent Document 6). Secondary adhesion refers to sunscreen cosmetics re-adhering to clothing or other belongings after application. Secondary adhesion can degrade the UV protection effect and the finish of the cosmetic film, and in recent years, sunscreen cosmetics have also been required to have a secondary adhesion-free effect. Technologies to enhance the secondary adhesion-free effect include incorporating large amounts of components that evaporate at room temperature, such as volatile silicone oils, volatile hydrocarbon oils, volatile hydrofluoroethers, and water, to provide quick-drying properties, and combining them with oily film-forming agents such as hard, non-transferable silicone resins (Patent Documents 6 and 7). However, Patent Documents 6 and 7 concern water-in-oil cosmetics, and applying them to oil-in-water cosmetics imparts a hard film, significantly impairing the refreshing feel that is the focus of this application. Furthermore, in terms of quality, it is difficult to incorporate large amounts of oily film-forming agents or volatile oils into oil-in-water cosmetics, which have low oil content, and thus the aforementioned problems could not be solved.

[0013] Given the above background, there is a need to develop an oil-in-water type sunscreen cosmetic that, even with a high concentration of UV scattering agents, achieves both a refreshing feel and a unique powdery texture, is non-sticky, and possesses excellent secondary adhesion-free properties and stability. [0016] The present invention has been made in view of the above-mentioned prior art, and aims to provide an oil-in-water type sunscreen cosmetic that, even with a high concentration of UV scattering agents, achieves both a refreshing feel and a unique powdery feel by including specific ingredients, is free from a squeaky feeling, and has excellent secondary adhesion-free effect and stability. [Means for solving the problem]

[0017] In order to achieve the above objective, the inventors conducted diligent research, The following components (A) to (E) (A) Cellulose-based water-soluble thickening polysaccharides (B) One or more selected from acrylates crosspolymer-2-Na, sodium polyacrylate, starch-sodium acrylate graft polymer, and sodium carbomer, 0.1-5.0% by mass (C) Hydrophobic ultraviolet scattering agent 2.0 to 40.0 mass% (D) Aqueous phase thickener whose viscosity decreases with increasing electrolyte concentration 0.1 to 1.5 mass% (E) One or more selected from polyglycerin-modified silicone, polyoxyalkylene-modified silicone, and (isostearic acid / succinic acid) polyglyceryl-10 The present inventors have found that an oil-in-water sunscreen cosmetic containing the above components can solve the above problems, and have completed the present invention.

Effects of the Invention

[0018] According to the present invention, it is possible to provide an oil-in-water sunscreen cosmetic that achieves both a unique fresh, watery feel during use and a powdery feel after application, does not give a squeaky feeling, and has excellent secondary adhesion prevention effect and stability, even when a high amount of ultraviolet scattering agent is blended.

Best Mode for Carrying Out the Invention

[0019] Hereinafter, the present invention will be described in more detail. Unless otherwise specified, when the blending amount of a component is expressed as "%" below, it means mass%.

[0020] In the present invention, component (A), a cellulose-based water-soluble thickening polysaccharide, is generally used to adjust the viscosity and improve the feel of aqueous solutions. Component (A) refers to a water-soluble thickening polysaccharide with a cellulose backbone, and may or may not have hydrophobic groups such as alkyl chains introduced to the hydrophilic groups of the cellulose backbone. Specifically, examples include cellulose, ethylcellulose, ethoxyhydroxyethylcellulose, carboxymethylcellulose or its salts, carboxymethylhydroxyethylcellulose, stearoxyhydroxypropylmethylcellulose, stearoxyPG hydroxyethylcellulose sulfonate sodium, cellulose gum, cellulose sulfate sodium, hydroxyethylcellulose, hydroxyethylcellulose, hydroxypropylcellulose, and hydroxypropylmethylcellulose. Among these, hydrophobic modified alkylcellulose is particularly preferred from the viewpoint of providing a fresh feel, reducing powdery and squeaky sensations after application, and improving the secondary adhesion-free effect, and specifically, stearoxyhydroxypropylmethylcellulose is preferred.

[0021] In the present invention, component (A) can be used as one or in combination of two or more types.

[0022] The amount of component (A) in the present invention is not particularly limited, but 0.01 to 1.0% by mass is preferred based on the total amount of the oil-in-water type sunscreen cosmetic. More preferably, it is 0.03 to 0.5% by mass. Within this range, stability is very good, the unique refreshing feel upon application, the powdery feel after application, and the secondary adhesion-free effect are improved, and the feeling of tightness tends to be suppressed.

[0023] In the present invention, component (B), acrylates crosspolymer-2-Na, is the sodium salt of a copolymer consisting of one or more monomers of acrylic acid, methacrylic acid, or simple esters thereof, crosslinked with ethylene glycol diglycidyl ether. Acrylates crosspolymer-2-Na (INCI name: Sodium Acrylates Crosspolymer-2) can be a commercially available product. For example, "ARON NT-Z (manufactured by Toagosei Co., Ltd.)" and "AQUAKEEP 10SH-NGC (manufactured by Sumitomo Seika Co., Ltd.)" are preferably used.

[0024] In the present invention, component (B) sodium polyacrylate is a polyacrylate salt containing either a crosslinked or non-crosslinked form of sodium polyacrylate of acrylic acid, and the crosslinked and non-crosslinked forms may be used in combination or individually.

[0025] While sodium polyacrylate is not particularly limited, a cross-linked type with a pebble-like shape and an average particle size of 30 μm or less, which does not form a three-dimensional network structure with water, is more desirable in order to impart a unique fresh feel and a powdery feel after application. This type of sodium polyacrylate can more efficiently impart a unique fresh feel and reduce the squeaky feeling.

[0026] In the present invention, component (B) starch-sodium acrylate graft polymer is a polymer obtained by graft polymerization of acrylic acid onto sugars such as starch, and carbomer Na is a polymer obtained by neutralizing carboxyvinyl polymer to form a salt, which has thickening properties when dissolved in water.

[0027] In the present invention, component (B) can be used as one or in combination of two or more types.

[0028] The amount of component (B) in the present invention is 0.1 to 5.0% by mass of the total amount of the oil-in-water type sunscreen cosmetic. More preferably, it is 0.5 to 4.0% by mass. Within this range, it is possible to provide a unique fresh feeling when applied, reduce the feeling of stickiness after application, and provide a secondary adhesion-free effect.

[0029] The hydrophobic ultraviolet scattering agent (C) in the present invention is not particularly limited, and any agent commonly used in cosmetics can be used. From the viewpoint of ultraviolet protection, it is preferable to use fine particles with an average primary particle diameter of 100 nm or less, measured using a scanning electron microscope for 10 particles in any field of view. Particularly preferred metal oxides include titanium dioxide, zinc oxide, and cerium oxide. The hydrophobic treatment method is not particularly limited, and commonly used treatment methods such as coating treatment, baking treatment, and silane coupling agent treatment can be used. The hydrophobic treatment agent is not particularly limited, and metal soaps, silicones, fatty acids, phospholipids, fluorine compounds, silylation agents, and acyl amino acids can be suitably used. Triethoxycaprylylsilane treatment, fatty acid treatment such as isostearic acid, and silicone treatment are particularly preferred from the viewpoint of cosmetic stability, water resistance, and washability. The silicone used in the silicone treatment is not particularly limited, but dimethicone and hydrogen dimethicone can be used.

[0030] In the present invention, component (C) can be used by one or in combination of two or more types.

[0031] The amount of component (C) in the present invention is 2.0 to 40.0% by mass of the total amount of the oil-in-water type sunscreen cosmetic. More preferably, it is used in the range of 5.0 to 30.0% by mass. Within this range, a sufficient SPF value and a unique fresh feel are provided, and a secondary adhesion-free effect is obtained without any squeaky feeling after application.

[0032] The aqueous phase thickener in the present invention, component (D), which exhibits viscosity reduction due to an increase in electrolyte concentration, is a thickener having the function of thickening the aqueous phase, and exhibits viscosity reduction in the presence of electrolytes within a range of concentrations generally found in cosmetics. The property of exhibiting viscosity reduction due to an increase in electrolyte concentration in cosmetics, as in component (D), is generally described as having low salt tolerance. Such low salt tolerance thickeners are selected from water-soluble thickeners that have conventionally been used in cosmetics and the like for the purpose of adjusting the viscosity of the aqueous phase.

[0033] Specific examples of component (D) in the present invention include vinyl polymers such as polyvinylpyrrolidone, vinylpyrrolidone and vinyl acetate copolymers, carboxyvinyl polymers, acrylic acid / alkyl methacrylate copolymers, polyethyl acrylate, polyacrylate alkanolamine, alkyl methacrylate and dimethylaminoethyl methacrylate copolymers, poly2-acrylamido-2-methylpropanesulfonic acid, polymethacryloyloxytrimethylammonium, (acryloyldimethyltaurate ammonium / VP) copolymer, and acrylic polymers such as dimethylacrylamide / acryloyldimethyltaurate sodium crosspolymer. These can be blended as appropriate, but (acryloyldimethyltaurate ammonium / VP) copolymer, (hydroxyethyl acrylate / acryloyldimethyltaurate sodium) copolymer, and (sodium acrylate / acryloyldimethyltaurate sodium) copolymer are particularly suitable, and can achieve a unique fresh feel, reduced powderiness and squeaky feeling after application, and a secondary adhesion-free effect.

[0034] In the present invention, component (D) can be used by one or in combination of two or more types.

[0035] The amount of component (D) in this invention is 0.1 to 1.5% by mass relative to the total amount of the oil-in-water type sunscreen cosmetic. Within this range, a unique fresh feel, reduced stickiness, and a secondary adhesion-free effect can be achieved.

[0036] In the present invention, any of the components (E) polyglycerin-modified silicone, polyoxyalkylene-modified silicone, and (isostearate / succinate) polyglyceryl-10 commonly used in oil-in-water type sunscreen cosmetics can be used. The silicone main chain can be a straight chain type, a branched chain type, or a cross-linked type. Furthermore, the silicone chains branched from the silicone main chain can be straight chains or further branched.

[0037] Specific examples of component (E) in the present invention include, for example, polyglyceryl-3 disiloxane dimethicone, polyglyceryl-3 polydimethylsiloxyethyl dimethicone, lauryl polyglyceryl-3 polydimethylsiloxyethyl dimethicone, PEG-11 methyl ether dimethicone, PEG / PPG-20 / 22 butyl ether dimethicone, PEG-3 dimethicone, PEG-10 dimethicone, PEG-9 polydimethylsiloxyethyl dimethicone, (lauryl PEG-9 polydimethylsiloxyethyl dimethicone), (dimethicone / (PEG-1 Examples include 0 / 15)) crosspolymer, PEG / PPG-19 / 19 dimethicone, PEG / PPG-19 / 19 dimethicone, PEG-12 dimethicone, polysilicone 13, lauryl PEG-10 tris(trimethylsiloxy)silylethyl dimethicone, cetyl diglyceryl tris(trimethylsiloxy)silylethyl dimethicone, and among these, polyglyceryl-3 polydimethylsiloxyethyl dimethicone, PEG-10 dimethicone, and cetyl diglyceryl tris(trimethylsiloxy)silylethyl dimethicone are particularly preferred.

[0038] In the present invention, component (E) can be used by one or in combination of two or more types.

[0039] The amount of component (E) in the present invention is not particularly limited, but it is preferably 0.1 to 5% by mass, and more preferably 0.3 to 3.5% by mass, relative to the total amount of the oil-in-water type sunscreen cosmetic. Within this range, a unique fresh feel, reduced squeaky feeling, and secondary adhesion-free effect can be achieved.

[0040] In addition to the essential components mentioned above, the oil-in-water sunscreen cosmetic composition of the present invention may also contain other components commonly used in cosmetics, as needed. For example, pearlescent agents, moisturizers, water-soluble polymers other than components (B) and (D), fragrances, bactericides, preservatives, antioxidants, pH adjusters, chelating agents, anti-inflammatory agents, antioxidants, cooling agents, herbal extracts, vitamins, and other additives can be added as appropriate. The proportion of these components can be appropriately selected depending on their type and purpose, and they may be used individually or in combination of two or more as appropriate. [Examples]

[0047] [Table 1]

[0048] [Table 2]

[0049] [Table 3]

[0050] In Example 1, despite containing an ultraviolet scattering agent, a unique refreshing feel and a powdery finish after application were observed, along with good non-stickiness, reduced secondary adhesion, and stability. When using a combination of component (A), comparable non-stickiness and reduced secondary adhesion were achieved. Examples 3-6 show evaluation results based on differences in component B, but all were within the specified blending range and confirmed to satisfy the objectives of the present invention. The example using acrylates crosspolymer-2-Na yielded particularly excellent results. Regarding sodium polyacrylate, the cross-linked type showed superior results in terms of refreshing feel and powdery finish after application compared to the cross-linked type. Examples 7-10 are examples where the types of components C and D were changed. These examples involved changing the surface treatment of component (C), resulting in slight changes in refreshingness, non-stickiness, and stability, but still yielding good results. Ingredient (D) is an example where the type of water-soluble thickener was changed, and although there was a slight change in the unique freshness, good results were obtained. In Examples 11-14, where ingredient (E) was changed, changes were observed in the fresh feel and stability, but all results met the objectives. Comparing Comparative Examples 1-4, it was found that the absence of components A, B, D, and E posed significant obstacles to achieving the objectives of the present invention. In particular, the absence of component A resulted in major problems with stability, lack of tackiness, and secondary adhesion prevention. The absence of component B resulted in a lack of powdery feel after application, as well as problems with stability, lack of tackiness, and secondary adhesion prevention. Component C is an essential component for sunscreen, so no formulation without it was prepared. The absence of component D worsened the secondary adhesion prevention effect and stability, and the absence of component E resulted in poor evaluations in all categories. Furthermore, comparing Comparative Examples 5-13 with other components, it is clear that it is difficult to achieve all objectives without the component composition of the present invention, and that similar components cannot be substituted. From the results above, it can be seen that the cosmetic composition of this invention has a uniquely refreshing feel, is free from powdery or sticky feeling after application, has a secondary adhesion-free effect, and is a good cosmetic composition without stability issues. This solves the problems of oil-in-water type sunscreen cosmetics mentioned at the beginning and meets consumer needs.
