Modes for Carrying Out the Invention

[0021] Hereinafter, embodiments of the hood structure according to the present invention and a movable hood equipped with the same will be specifically described with reference to the accompanying drawings. Constituent elements common to a plurality of drawings are denoted by the same reference numerals throughout the plurality of drawings. It should be noted that the respective drawings are not necessarily drawn to scale for convenience of explanation.

[0022] Figure 1 is a diagram for explaining a fishing rod having a hood structure according to an embodiment of the present invention and a movable hood equipped with the same. As illustrated, a fishing rod 1 according to an embodiment of the present invention includes a rod body 2, a reel 6 attached to the rod body 2 via a reel seat 9, and fishing line guides 10 attached to the rod body 2. In the illustrated embodiment, each of the reel seat 9 and the fishing line guides 10 corresponds to a mounting component to be attached to the outer peripheral surface of the rod body.

[0023] In the illustrated example, the butt rod 3, the middle rod 5 and the tip rod 7 are provided with a plurality of fishing line guides 10 (fishing line guides 10A to 10D) that guide the fishing line unwound from the reel 6 mounted on the reel seat 9. More specifically, the butt rod 3 is provided with a fishing line guide 10A, the middle rod 5 is provided with a fishing line guide 10B, and the tip rod 7 is provided with a fishing line guide 10C. A top guide 10D is provided at the tip end of the tip rod 7, and further detailed description thereof will be omitted.

[0024] Next, with reference to Figure 2, a brief overview of a reel seat 9 comprising a reel seat body 12 and a nut 8, including a hood structure and a movable hood equipped therewith, according to one embodiment of the present invention, will be described. As shown in the figure, the reel seat 9 including a movable hood according to one embodiment of the present invention comprises a reel seat body 12 having a reel leg mounting surface (reel leg mounting portion) 12a along its axial direction on which the reel leg 6a of a fishing reel 6 is placed. The reel seat body 12 is formed in a cylindrical shape as a whole. The reel seat body 12 is also formed from an appropriate material such as synthetic resin (e.g., polyamide-based synthetic resin or ABS resin) or metal (e.g., SUS, aluminum, titanium, brass). The reel seat body 12 can be configured to have a length of, for example, 60-160 mm, but is not limited thereto.

[0025] The reel leg mounting surface 12a of the reel seat body 12 can be formed to be flat or substantially flat with a greater curvature than other circumferential parts adjacent to the reel leg mounting surface 12a of the reel seat body 12 (e.g., the grip portion 12b), and is formed to extend in the axial direction of the reel seat body 12 as shown in Figure 2. A fixed hood 14 is provided at one end (the butt end side) of the reel seat body 12. One end of the reel leg mounting surface 12a of the reel seat body 12 is located inside the fixed hood 14.

[0026] The reel seat body 12 has a cylindrical body with a guide groove formed at the other end (butt end) and a threaded portion (male threaded portion) 18 integrally provided. The cylindrical body has a cylindrical portion mounting surface 13 formed on it, which is continuous with the reel leg mounting surface 12a of the reel seat body 12, or with a slight step. The cylindrical portion mounting surface 13 is also continuous with the threaded portion (male threaded portion) 18. At the other end (butt end), a movable hood 22 is mounted on the outside of the cylindrical body and the threaded portion 18 so as to be movable in the axial direction. Here, the reel seat body 12 and the movable hood 22, or the reel seat body 12, the movable hood 22 and the nut 8 described later, are sometimes collectively referred to as the reel seat 9, but details are omitted. Also, the movable hood 22 corresponds to the hood described later, but it may also refer to the hood structure including the hood, or it may refer to these together with the nut 8 as the movable hood 22, but from now on, unless otherwise specified, it will be described as corresponding to the hood described later.

[0027] As shown in Figure 2, the fixed hood 14 of the reel seat body 12 has an opening 14a facing the movable hood 22 to receive one end of the reel leg 6a. When one end of the reel leg 6a is received in this opening 14a and pressed by the opening 14a, the reel leg 6a is biased (pressed) toward the reel leg mounting surface 12a located inside the fixed hood 14.

[0028] Furthermore, the fixing hood 14 is not limited to being integrally disposed with the reel seat body 12; it may also be formed as a separate structure from the reel seat body 12 using metal or a hard synthetic resin and firmly fixed to the reel seat body 12. In addition, if the fixing hood 14 is made of metal, a resin component may be placed at the part that contacts the reel leg 6a of the reel 6 to prevent damage to each component due to contact between metal parts.

[0029] The movable hood 22 is formed in a sleeve shape that penetrates an axial hole through which the threaded portion (male threaded portion) 18 of the reel seat body 12 is inserted, and has a hood body 26 and a reel leg holding portion 28 formed inside the hood body 26. The hood body 26 is made of, for example, synthetic resin. A nut 8 is rotatably connected to the rear (butt end) of the hood body 26 of the movable hood 22. The nut is made of, for example, synthetic resin, polyamide-based synthetic resin, ABS resin, or metal such as SUS, aluminum, or brass, but is not limited to these.

[0030] Nut 8 has a female threaded portion 24 formed on its inner circumference that screws onto the threaded portion (male threaded portion) 18 of the reel seat body 12. The front end of nut 8 (referring to the end of the movable hood 22 on the hood body 26 side) is connected (locked) to the rear end of the hood body 26 of the movable hood 22 (referring to the end on the front end side of nut 8) in a state that allows for relative rotation and prevents it from coming loose (note that the hood body 26 and nut 8 are usually constructed as separate components). Nut 8 is screwed onto the threaded portion (male threaded portion) 18 of the reel seat body 12 and is rotatably arranged. As described above, since the hood body 26 is connected to nut 8, when nut 8 is rotated in the forward direction relative to the threaded portion (male threaded portion) 18, nut 8 moves closer to the fixed hood 14 and the hood body 26 of the movable hood 22 moves closer to the fixed hood 14. On the other hand, when the nut 8 is rotated in the opposite direction relative to the threaded portion (male threaded portion) 18, the nut 8 separates from the fixed hood 14, and the hood body 26 of the movable hood 22 separates from the fixed hood 14. The hood body 26, which is moved in the axial direction of the reel seat body 12 by the rotation of the nut 8, has an opening 26a that opens forward and inward, and is fixed in a state in which a reel leg holding portion 28 that receives the rear end of the reel leg 6a of the fishing reel 6 is disposed. This opening 26a of the hood body 26 faces the opening 14a of the fixed hood 14 when the movable hood 22 is attached to the threaded portion (male threaded portion) 18 of the reel seat body 12.

[0031] Next, with reference to Figures 3 to 7, the details of the hood structure according to one embodiment of the present invention will be further described. Figure 3 is a cross-sectional view illustrating the hood structure according to one embodiment of the present invention. Figure 4(a) is a perspective view of the hood in the hood structure according to one embodiment of the present invention, Figure 4(b) is a side view of the hood in the hood structure according to one embodiment of the present invention (direction perpendicular to the axis (central axis) X (radially from the outside to the inside of the hood)), (c) is a front view of the hood in the hood structure according to one embodiment of the present invention (direction from the left to the right of the page in Figure 3), and (d) is a cross-sectional view of the hood in the hood structure according to one embodiment of the present invention (cross-section in Figure 3). Furthermore, Figure 5(a) is a perspective view of the ring member in a hood structure according to one embodiment of the present invention, Figure 5(b) is a side view of the ring member in a hood structure according to one embodiment of the present invention (direction perpendicular to the axis (central axis) X (radially from the outside to the inside of the ring member)), Figure 5(c) is a front view of the ring member in a hood structure according to one embodiment of the present invention (direction from the left to the right of the page in Figure 3), and Figure 5(d) is a cross-sectional view of the ring member in a hood structure according to one embodiment of the present invention (cross-section in Figure 3). Furthermore, Figure 6 is a cross-sectional view illustrating a hood structure according to another embodiment of the present invention, and Figure 7 is a conceptual diagram illustrating the pivot point (rotation pivot point) where the reel leg and the hood body of the hood (movable hood) come into contact in a hood structure according to one embodiment of the present invention.

[0032] As shown in Figures 3 to 5, a hood structure 15 according to one embodiment of the present invention comprises a hood (movable hood 22) having a hood body 26 for holding reel legs on its inner surface, and a ring member 16 fitted to the outer surface 26a of the hood body 26. The hood (movable hood 22) has an engaging portion 17 provided on the hood body 26, and a press-fit projection 19 provided on the hood body 26 at a position spaced apart from the engaging portion 17 when viewed in the axial direction of the hood body 26 (axis (central axis) X in Figure 3), and the press-fit projection 19 protrudes radially from the hood body 26 (direction perpendicular to the axis (central axis) X in Figure 3). The ring member 16 is configured to have an engaged portion 20 that engages with the engaging portion 17 of the hood (movable hood 22), and a press-fit portion 21 that is press-fitted by the press-fit projection 19. Here, the illustrated example is based on the assumption that the hood is a movable hood 22, but it may also be a fixed hood, and it is not intended to be limited to one or the other. Hereafter, the explanation will be based on the case where the hood is a movable hood 22. Here, at the position where the press-fit projection 19 is provided, the outer diameter of the hood (movable hood 22) is larger than the inner diameter of the ring member 16, and at the position where the engagement portion 17 is provided, the outer diameter of the hood (movable hood 22) is smaller than the inner diameter of the ring member 16. The end of the ring member 16 may protrude from the end of the hood (movable hood 22), but preferably the amount of protrusion should be small (for example, 1.5 mm or less), or it should be flush. In this way, when the reel leg 6a is inserted and the ring member 16 is tilted, it is possible to avoid the end of the ring member on the radially opposite side being pressed against the rod body 2. The ring member 16 and the hood (movable hood 22) may also be fixed using adhesive. Even in such cases, the fixing force can be ensured by engagement and press-fitting, making it possible to reduce the amount of adhesive used.

[0033] According to the hood structure 15 of one embodiment of the present invention, it is possible to provide a hood structure that can firmly fix the hood and the ring, prevent axial detachment, and suppress rattling. More specifically, the hood body is prevented from coming off in the axial direction by the engaging portion and the engaged portion, and rattling is also suppressed by the press-fit protrusion and the press-fitted portion, so that the ring member and the hood can be firmly fixed. Furthermore, by distributing the fixing points (engaging portion, press-fit portion) and adopting a multi-point fixing structure, even if an external force is applied to one fixing point, the fixing force can be maintained at the other fixing points. In addition, by having multiple fixing points, it is possible to suppress the hood from oscillating relative to the ring member with one fixing point as a pivot point and generating noise (abnormal sound). Moreover, since the fixing force is ensured by the engaging and press-fit structure, the ring and the hood can be fixed with less adhesive, or without using adhesive. This reduces the work required for using adhesive and improves work efficiency.

[0034] Furthermore, as shown in Figures 3 to 5, in the hood structure 15 according to one embodiment of the present invention, the engaging portion 17 is provided at one end of the hood body 26a of the hood (movable hood 22) (in the example of Figure 3, the end on the nut 8 side), and the press-fitting projection 19 is provided at the other end of the hood body 26a of the hood (movable hood 22) (in the example of Figure 3, the end opposite to the nut 8 side). Furthermore, in the hood structure 15 according to one embodiment of the present invention, the engaged portion 20 is provided at one end of the ring member 16 (in the example of Figure 3, the end on the nut 8 side), and the press-fitting portion 21 is provided at the other end of the ring member 16 (in the example of Figure 3, the end opposite to the nut 8 side). In this way, the engaging portion and engaged portion prevent the hood body from coming loose in the axial direction, and the press-fit protrusion and press-fit portion suppress rattling, thus firmly fixing the ring member and the hood. Furthermore, by distributing the fixing points (engaging portion, press-fit portion) and adopting a multi-point fixing structure, even if an external force is applied to one fixing point, the fixing force can be maintained at the other fixing points. In addition, by having multiple fixing points, it is possible to suppress the hood from oscillating relative to the ring member with one fixing point as a pivot point, which would cause squeaking (abnormal noise).

[0035] Furthermore, in the hood structure 15 according to one embodiment of the present invention, the ring member 16 is made of metal, and the hood (movable hood 22) is made of resin. In this way, the height of the press-fit protrusion can be measured simply by clamping the hood (movable hood 22) from the outside with calipers, making dimensional control easier.

[0036] Furthermore, as shown in Figures 3 to 5, in a hood structure 15 according to one embodiment of the present invention, when viewed in the axial direction (axis (central axis) X in Figure 3), the ring member 16 has a bottom portion 23 at one end (the end on the nut 8 side in the example of Figure 3) to which the end of the hood (movable hood 22) abuts, and an opening portion 24 at the other end (the end opposite to the nut 8 side in the example of Figure 3) for inserting the hood (movable hood 22). The press-fitting projection 19 is provided on the side of the opening portion 24 (opposite to the nut 8 side in the example of Figure 3) than the engaged portion 20. In this way, the press-fitting location can be provided within a visible range, making it easy to check the press-fitting state, shortening the travel distance to the press-fitting state, and making the insertion work easier.

[0037] Furthermore, as shown in Figures 3 to 5, in the hood structure 15 according to one embodiment of the present invention, the engaging portion 17 has a convex portion 17a that protrudes toward the ring member 16, the engaged portion 20 has a concave portion 20a corresponding to the convex portion 17a, and the ring member 16 is configured to have a guide surface 25 on its inner surface for guiding the insertion of the convex portion 17a into the ring member 16. In addition, in the hood structure 15 according to one embodiment of the present invention, the guide surface 25 is a surface parallel to the axial direction (axis (central axis) X in Figure 3) or an inclined surface that is inclined with respect to the axial direction (axis (central axis) X in Figure 3). In this way, the insertion of the hood (movable hood 22) into the ring member 16 can be performed more easily and reliably.

[0038] Furthermore, as shown in Figure 3, in the hood structure 15 according to one embodiment of the present invention, with the reel leg 6a held in place, the press-fit protrusion 19 is configured to be positioned so as to overlap with the reel leg 6a in its entirety when viewed in the radial direction of the hood body 26 (direction perpendicular to the axis (central axis) X in Figure 3). In this way, as shown in Figure 7, the pivot point (rotational pivot point) where the reel leg 6a and the hood body 26 of the hood (movable hood 22) come into contact can be positioned further inward (to the right of the plane of the paper in Figure 7) in the axial direction (axis (central axis) X in Figure 3), which increases the force in the direction that suppresses disengagement between the hood and the ring member, leading to an improvement in the fixing force between the hood and the ring member.

[0039] Next, a hood structure 15 according to one embodiment of the present invention comprises a hood (movable hood 22) having a hood body 26 for holding the reel legs 6a on its inner surface, and a ring member 16 fitted to the outer surface 26a of the hood body 26, wherein the ring member 16 has an engaged portion 20 of the hood (movable hood 22), and a press-fit projection 19 provided on the hood body 26 at a position spaced apart from the engaged portion 17 when viewed in the axial direction of the hood body 26 (axis (central axis) X in Figure 3), and the press-fit projection 19 protrudes inward in the radial direction (direction perpendicular to the axis (central axis) X in Figure 3), and the hood (movable hood 22) is configured to have an engaged portion 17 provided on the hood body 26 and a press-fit portion 21 that is press-fitted by the press-fit projection 19.

[0040] According to the hood structure 15 of one embodiment of the present invention, it is possible to provide a hood structure that can firmly fix the hood and the ring, prevent axial detachment, and suppress rattling.

[0041] Next, as shown in Figure 6, a hood structure 15 according to another embodiment of the present invention comprises a hood (movable hood 22) having a hood body 26 for holding the reel legs on its inner surface, and a ring member 16 fitted to the outer surface 26a of the hood body 26, wherein the hood (movable hood 22) has an engaging portion 17 provided on the hood body 26 (in the example shown in Figure 6, provided on the side of the reel leg 6a (opposite side from the nut 8)) and the hood body 26, in the axial direction of the hood body 26 (Figure The ring member 16 has a press-fit projection 19 (in the illustrated example, it is provided on the side opposite to the reel leg 6a (the side of the nut 8)) located at a position spaced apart from the engaging portion 17 when viewed with respect to the axis (central axis) X of Figure 6, and the press-fit projection 19 protrudes radially from the hood body 26 (in a direction perpendicular to the axis (central axis) X of Figure 6), and the ring member 16 is configured to have an engaged portion 20 that engages with the engaging portion 17 of the hood (movable hood 22), and a press-fit portion 21 that is press-fitted by the press-fit projection 19. Furthermore, in the hood structure 15 according to one embodiment of the present invention, the ring member 16 may have a guide surface 25 on its inner surface for guiding the insertion of the hood body 26 into the ring member 16, and the guide surface 25 is a surface parallel to the axial direction (axis (central axis) X of Figure 6) or an inclined surface inclined with respect to the axial direction (axis (central axis) X of Figure 6).

[0042] A movable hood according to one embodiment of the present invention is configured to include any of the above-described hood structures. A movable hood according to one embodiment of the present invention is configured to include any of the above-described hood structures and a nut for moving the hood body in the axial direction.

[0043] According to the hood structure 15 of one embodiment of the present invention, it is possible to provide a movable hood with a hood structure that can firmly fix the hood and the ring, prevent axial detachment, and suppress rattling. Furthermore, since the fixing force is ensured by the engaging and press-fit structure, the ring and the hood can be fixed with less adhesive, or without using adhesive. This reduces the work required for using adhesive and improves work efficiency.
