Fixation method

Abstract

This invention provides a method for fixing workpieces that makes it easier to inspect the joint condition of the workpieces with higher precision. [Solution] The fixing method is used in an inspection system. The inspection system heats the workpiece with excitation light from an excitation source and inspects the state of the joint of the workpiece by analyzing temperature images generated by a camera that takes images in a time series. The workpiece includes a bottomed cylindrical outer part and an inner part. The outer part has a top surface, a side surface, an opening provided on the top surface, and an inner wall surface defined by the opening. The inner part is inserted into the opening and is joined to at least a part of the inner wall surface at the joint. The fixing method includes supporting the outer part by contacting the entire surface of the side surface with a jig during inspection when the distance between the side surface of the outer part and the joint is shorter than the joint depth of the joint from the top surface of the outer part.
