[0003] PATENT DOCUMENT 1 Japanese Patent No. 7240603 SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED BY THE INVENTION

[0004] Since the power supply box accommodating the light source unit and the power supply device may generate high heat, they are often disposed apart from each other. On the other hand, if the light source unit and the power supply box are significantly separated, the portion of the wiring for supplying power from the power supply device to the light source that is exposed to the outside is likely to be touched by the user's hand. Further, if the light source unit and the power supply box are significantly separated, the wiring terminals provided at the ends of the wiring connecting the light source unit and the power supply box, the wiring connected to the outlet, etc., may enter the gap between the light source unit and the power supply box, get tangled, and the like, which may make it impossible to pull them out of the gap. Accordingly, it is desired to improve the workability of wiring connection work.

[0005] The purpose of this disclosure is to improve the workability of wiring connection work in lighting devices. [Means for solving the problem]

[0006] A lighting device according to one aspect of the present disclosure comprises a light source unit having a light source capable of emitting light on its front side, and a power box provided on the rear side of the light source unit and housing a power supply device that supplies power to the light source, wherein the light source unit and the power box are arranged with a gap in between, a connecting member is connected to the power box, the connecting member connects the light source unit and the power box, and the maximum gap dimension between the opposing surfaces of the light source unit and the power box is smaller than the outer diameter of the cylindrical surface having the maximum outer diameter of the wiring terminals connected to the power box in an exposed state. [Effects of the Invention]

[0007] According to one embodiment of the present disclosure, the maximum gap dimension between the opposing surfaces of the light source unit and the power supply box is smaller than the outer diameter of the cylindrical surface having the maximum outer diameter of the wiring terminals connected to the power supply box when exposed to the outside. This prevents the wiring terminals from entering the gap between the opposing surfaces of the light source unit and the power supply box, thereby preventing the wiring to which the wiring terminals are connected from entering the gap. As a result, inconveniences such as wiring and wiring terminals becoming entangled in the gap and being unable to escape from the gap can be suppressed, thereby improving the workability of wiring connection work. [Modes for carrying out the invention]

[0009] Hereinafter, an example of an embodiment of the lighting device according to this disclosure will be described in detail with reference to the drawings. Since the drawings referenced in the description of the embodiment are schematic, the dimensional ratios of each component should be determined by referring to the following description. In the following description, specific shapes, materials, quantities, directions, etc. are examples to facilitate understanding of this disclosure and can be appropriately changed according to the specifications of the lighting device. In the following, the same reference numerals are used to denote similar elements in all drawings.

[0010] Figure 1 is a perspective view of the lighting device 10 as seen from the front, representing an example of an embodiment. Figure 2 is a perspective view of the lighting device 10 as seen from the rear. Figure 3 is a view of the lighting device 10 as seen from the front, with a portion of the barn door 80 removed. Figure 4 is a view of the lighting device 10 as seen from the state in Figure 3, with the barn door 80 and the light-transmitting panel 81 removed. Figure 5 is a view of the lighting device 10 as seen from the left. Figure 6 is an enlarged view of part A in Figure 5, showing a state with some parts removed.

[0011] As shown in Figures 1 to 3, the lighting device 10 comprises a lighting device body 11, four barn doors 80, and a roughly U-shaped arm 78. The lighting device body 11 includes a light source unit 12 having a light source that can emit light on its front side, a power box 50 (Figure 2) provided on the rear side of the light source unit 12, and two connecting members 70 on the left and right. Inside the power box 50 is a power supply unit that supplies power to the light source.

[0012] The lighting device 10 is a broad light used to illuminate, for example, a stage or studio. It is attached to a mounting point such as a suspension batten near the ceiling and illuminates downwards or diagonally downwards. In this specification, the direction of light illumination for the lighting device 10 is defined as the front side, and the opposite side as the rear side. When the lighting device 10 is installed so as to be rotatable, the axis of rotation is defined as the left-right direction, and the right and left sides are defined as the right and left when the lighting device 10 is viewed from the front. Furthermore, the direction perpendicular to the left-right direction when the lighting device 10 is viewed from the front is defined as the lower side, with the side on which the handle 82 at the rear end is provided being defined as the upper side. A locking part provided at the tip of a rod-shaped member (not shown) is locked to the handle 82 from below when adjusting the angle of the lighting device 10 during use.

[0013] The light source unit 12 is provided on the front side of the lighting device main body 11. The power supply box 50 is provided on the back side of the light source unit 12. A power cable (not illustrated) for connecting to an outlet provided near the ceiling surface is led out from the power supply box 50. As shown in FIG. 9 described later, the power supply box 50 accommodates therein a power supply device 53 including power supply circuits provided on power supply boards 54, 55, and 56.

[0014] The power supply device 53 supplies power to the light source of the light source unit 12 to drive the light source and cause the light source to emit light. The power supply box 50 includes a substantially rectangular parallelepiped box-shaped box main body 51 with an open rear end, and a lid 52 provided at the rear end of the box main body 51 so as to close the opening of the box main body 51 and detachably attached to the box main body 51 with screws.

[0015] The lower end portions at both ends of the arm 78 are coupled to the left and right ends of the power supply box 50 via connecting members 70 described later. A lock mechanism is provided between the lower end portion of the right end of the both ends of the arm 78 and the connecting member 70, and switching between locking and unlocking of the lock mechanism is possible by rotation of a handle 79 provided on the outer side of the lower end of the right end of the arm 78. In a state where the lock mechanism is unlocked by rotation of the handle 79, the rotation angle of the power supply box 50 relative to the arm 78 around the left-right direction axis can be adjusted. After the adjustment of the rotation angle, the rotation angle of the power supply box 50 relative to the arm 78 is fixed in a state where the lock mechanism is locked by rotating the handle 79 in the reverse direction.

[0016] The four barn doors 80 are respectively attached to the four sides of the rectangular frame portion at the front side end of the light source unit 12 such that the rotation angle thereof is adjustable. By adjusting the rotation angle of each barn door 80, the light emission state can be adjusted.

[0017] The light source unit 12 includes a rectangular parallelepiped housing 13 with an open front end, and a light-transmitting panel 81 attached to the opening at the front end of the housing 13. The light-transmitting panel 81 is, for example, a milky white acrylic resin plate or a glass plate. The housing 13 has a rectangular cylindrical portion 14 and a base plate 15 connected to the rear end of the rectangular cylindrical portion 14, which supports a light-emitting module including a light-emitting element, which is a light source described later. The base plate 15 closes the opening at the rear end of the rectangular cylindrical portion 14.

[0018] As shown in Figure 4, two light-emitting modules 20 are arranged side by side in the vertical direction inside the housing 13. Each light-emitting module 20 is supported by the base plate 15 at the rear end of the housing 13, parallel to the inner surface of the base plate 15. Each light-emitting module 20 has a substrate 21 and multiple light sources, which are LED elements 22, arranged in a row vertically and horizontally on the front surface of the substrate 21.

[0019] Multiple LED elements 22 emit light to the front side in a direction parallel to the optical axis. The LED elements 22 are, for example, SMD (Surface Mount Device) type. An SMD type LED element is a package-type LED element in which an LED chip (light-emitting element) is mounted in a resin-molded cavity, and phosphor-containing resin is sealed inside the cavity. The LED elements 22 are connected to a power supply circuit described later via a switch unit (not shown), such as a semiconductor switch, and the on / off state of the switch unit is controlled by a control unit (not shown). This allows the LED elements 22 to be switched on and off. The LED elements 22 may also be controlled by the control unit to adjust brightness and color temperature.

[0020] The configuration including the light source is not limited to this configuration, and a COB (Chip On Board) type light-emitting module in which LED chips are directly mounted on a substrate may also be used. Furthermore, the light source is not limited to LED elements, but may also be a semiconductor light-emitting element such as a semiconductor laser, or an EL element such as an organic EL (Electroluminescence) or inorganic EL.

[0021] Furthermore, inside the housing 13, two reflectors 30 are positioned adjacent to the left and right end walls of the rectangular cylindrical section 14, on the perimeter of the front side of the two light-emitting modules 20, and are inclined toward the opening of the housing 13 so that the distance between them increases. Also, inside the housing 13, two reflectors 31 are positioned adjacent to the upper and lower end walls of the rectangular cylindrical section 14, on the perimeter of the front side of the two light-emitting modules 20, and are inclined toward the opening so that the distance between them increases. The upper and lower reflectors 31 and the left and right reflectors 30 are connected in a rectangular frame shape. The frame-shaped connected reflectors 30 and 31 are fixed inside the housing 13. Each reflector 30 and 31 is a light-reflecting component. On each reflector 30 and 31, the light source side surface is made of a metal plate material such as aluminum and has a mirror finish to reflect light. Each reflector 30, 31 may be made of a resin material or the like with a metal film added to the surface facing the light source to create a mirror-like surface.

[0022] Figure 7 is a perspective view including the BB cross section of Figure 6. Figure 8 is a perspective view including the CC cross section of Figure 6. Figure 9 is a view from the rear of the power box 50 of the lighting device 10 with the cover 52 removed.

[0023] Each of the two light-emitting modules 20 (Figure 4) is connected to the power supply circuit of the power supply unit 53 (Figure 9), and multiple wires 40a of a wiring component 40, which is a wiring cable containing multiple wires, are connected to it. Power is supplied to each light-emitting module 20 from the power supply unit 53 via the wiring component 40. Therefore, the wiring component 40 is used to supply power from the power supply unit 53 to the light source of each light-emitting module 20. The wiring component 40 has multiple wires 40a enclosed in a cylindrical insulating tube. The wiring component 40 is led out to the rear side from the base plate 15 which forms the rear side end of the housing 13, and one end of the multiple wires 40a is connected to the power supply circuit located in the power box 50. At this time, as shown in Figure 8, the base plate 15 is provided with a hole 15a through which the wiring component 40 passes. Also, as shown in Figure 7, the base plate 50a which forms the front side end of the power box 50 is also provided with a hole 50b through which the wiring component 40 passes.

[0024] As shown in Figures 6, 7, and 9, at least the portion of the wiring component 40 that is positioned between the light source unit 12 and the power supply box 50 is positioned so as to overlap with the power supply box 50 when viewed from the rear side along a direction perpendicular to the back of the base plate 15 of the light source unit 12.

[0025] In this example, as shown in Figure 6, the light source unit 12 and the power supply box 50 are positioned apart from each other with a gap 42 in between, and the wiring components 40 are positioned exposed in the gap 42. More specifically, the housing 13 of the light source unit 12 and the power supply box 50 are positioned with a gap 42 in the front-to-back direction.

[0026] As shown in Figures 1, 2, and 5, connecting members 70 are attached to both the left and right sides of the power box 50 by screws or the like. The connecting member 70 is, for example, a plate-shaped member with a trapezoidal shape when viewed in the left-right direction, and has two bent pieces 71 (Figure 9) bent at approximately right angles in the direction of two opposing side paralleles at the front end of the longer side. The bent pieces 71 are fixed to the upper and lower intermediate parts of both the left and right ends of the base plate 15 by screws or the like. In this way, each connecting member 70 connects the light source unit 12 and the power box 50. In this state, when viewed from the rear side of the light source unit 12, the power box 50 is positioned at a location that includes the center in the vertical direction and is approximately equal in distance from both the upper and lower edges of the light source unit 12. At this time, the vertical length of the power box 50 is smaller than the vertical length of the housing 13 of the light source unit 12. For example, the vertical length of the power supply box 50 can be 20% to 40% of the vertical length of the housing 13 of the light source unit 12.

[0027] The wiring component 40 described above is positioned exposed in the gap 42 (Figure 6) between the light source unit 12 and the power supply box 50. Furthermore, the portion of the wiring component 40 exposed in the gap 42 extends in a straight line along a direction perpendicular to the back surface of the base plate 15 of the housing 13.

[0028] As shown in Figure 8, the wiring component 40 is led out from the left end of the base plate 15 to the rear side. The wiring component 40 may also be led out from the right end of the base plate 15 to the rear side, or it may be divided into two wiring cables and led out to the rear side from both the left and right ends of the base plate 15. By leading out the wiring component 40 from the left and right ends of the base plate 15 to the rear side, the connecting members 70 provided on both the left and right sides of the power box cover the wiring component 40, preventing contact with the wiring component 40 during work.

[0029] Furthermore, as shown in Figures 6 and 7, a heat shield 60 is provided on the front of the power supply box 50. The heat shield 60 is made of a roughly rectangular metal plate, such as iron or aluminum alloy, and is fixed to the front of the power supply box 50 with multiple screws 61. The multiple screws 61 pass through a cylindrical body 65 made of resin or the like, which is placed between the power supply box 50 and the heat shield 60. As a result, the heat shield 60 is positioned between the power supply box 50 and the light source unit 12, with gaps between it and the front of the power supply box 50 and the back of the housing 13 of the light source unit 12. Therefore, the heat shield 60 is positioned at an intermediate position between the opposing surfaces of the power supply box 50 and the light source unit 12.

[0030] The heat shield 60 suppresses the heat transferred between the light source unit 12 and the power supply box 50 through the air layer separated by the heat shield 60. Therefore, compared to a structure without the heat shield 60, the heat influence between the light source unit 12 and the power supply box 50 can be suppressed while reducing the gap between them.

[0031] The maximum gap dimension d1 (Figure 6) between the opposing surfaces of the light source unit 12 and the power supply box 50 is smaller than the outer diameter of the cylindrical surface 63 having the maximum outer diameter of the wiring terminal 62 connected to the power supply box 50. More specifically, the maximum gap dimension d1 between the opposing surfaces of the light source unit 12 and the power supply box 50 is smaller than the outer diameter of the cylindrical surface 63 having the maximum outer diameter of the wiring terminal 62 (Figure 10), which is provided at the end of at least one wiring, such as the signal wiring connecting the light source unit 12 and the power supply box 50, and the power line connected to an external outlet, and is exposed to the outside and connected to the power supply box 50. Preferably, d1 is less than or equal to the outer diameter (maximum outer diameter) of at least one cable, such as the cable bundling the signal wiring connecting the light source unit 12 and the power supply box 50, and the cable bundling the power line connected to an external outlet. Even more preferably, d1 is less than or equal to the outer diameter (maximum outer diameter) of at least one cable, such as the signal wiring connecting the light source unit 12 and the power supply box 50, and the power line connected to an external outlet.

[0032] Figure 10 is a perspective view showing a wiring terminal 62 for connecting the lighting device 10 to the power box 50. For example, as shown in Figure 7, at least one connector 57 is provided on one of the vertical end faces of the power box 50. A wiring terminal 62, provided at the end of a wiring 64 (Figure 10) which is a power line connected to an outlet, is connected to the connector 57. In this case, the maximum gap dimension d1 may be smaller than the outer diameter Da of the cylindrical surface 63 having the maximum outer diameter of the wiring terminal 62.

[0033] For example, the maximum gap dimension d1 is preferably 25 mm or less, and more preferably 5 mm or more and 20 mm or less. The maximum gap dimension d1 is even more preferably 5 mm or more and 15 mm or less. The maximum gap dimension d1 is even more preferably 5 mm or more and 10 mm or less.

[0034] When using the lighting device 10 described above, for example, a suspension hook (not shown) is fixed to a fixing part 85 provided at the upper end of the arm 78, and the lighting device 10 is attached to the suspension batten provided near the ceiling by hooking the suspension hook onto the suspension batten. In this state, the locking mechanism is released by loosening the handle 79 provided at one of the ends of the arm 78. Then, after adjusting the rotation angle of the lighting device body 11 relative to the arm 78, the locking mechanism is locked by tightening the handle 79, and its rotation can be fixed. Any mechanism other than the one described above may be used as long as it can be locked.

[0035] According to the lighting device 10 described above, a hole 15a is provided in the base plate 15 located at the rear end of the light source unit 12, through which a wiring component 40, which is a wiring cable for supplying power from the power box 50 to the light source of the light source unit 12, passes. This application does not limit the form of the wiring component 40. One embodiment is one in which a through hole is provided in the base plate.

[0036] Furthermore, at least the portion of the wiring component 40 that is positioned between the light source unit 12 and the power supply box 50 may be positioned so as to overlap with the power supply box 50 when viewed from the rear. This allows for a shorter wiring length when the wiring connection is provided at the inner rear end of the light source unit 12. This reduces the cost of the lighting device 10, prevents excessive force from being applied to the wiring, and prevents wiring connection failures. In particular, even in a configuration where the vertical length of the power supply box 50 is smaller than the vertical length of the light source unit 12, as in this example, the wiring length can still be reduced.

[0037] Furthermore, the light source unit 12 may also have reflectors 30 and 31, in which case the efficiency of extracting light emitted from the light source of the light source unit 12 can be improved. In addition, since the reflectors 30 and 31 are provided at both the left and right ends and the up and down ends of the light source unit 12, the efficiency of light extraction can be further improved.

[0038] Furthermore, the light source unit 12 and the power supply box 50 are arranged with a gap 42 in between, and the wiring components 40 are positioned exposed in the gap 42. As a result, it is not necessary to fix a rigid cylindrical member to either the opposing surface of the light source unit 12 or the power supply box 50 to prevent the wiring components 40 from being exposed, making it easier to reduce the gap 42. Therefore, the lighting device 10 can be further miniaturized.

[0039] Furthermore, since the portion of the wiring component 40 exposed in the gap 42 extends in a straight line along a direction perpendicular to the back surface of the base plate 15, the wiring component 40 can be made even shorter. This allows for further cost reduction of the lighting device 10, as well as further suppression of excessive force on the wiring and wiring connection failures.

[0040] Furthermore, according to the lighting device 10 described above, the maximum gap dimension d1 (Figure 6) between the opposing surfaces of the light source unit 12 and the power box 50 is smaller than the outer diameter of the cylindrical surface having the maximum outer diameter of the wiring terminals connected to the power box 50 when exposed to the outside. This prevents the wiring terminals from entering the gap 42 between the opposing surfaces of the light source unit 12 and the power box 50, thereby suppressing the entry of wiring to which the wiring terminals are connected into the gap 42. As a result, the inconvenience of wiring and wiring terminals becoming entangled in the gap 42 and being unable to escape from the gap 42 is suppressed, improving the workability of wiring connection work.

[0041] Figure 11 is a perspective view from the front of the lighting device body 11a to which the arm 78 is attached, with some parts attached to the housing 13 of the light source unit 12 omitted, which constitutes another example of the lighting device of the embodiment. Figure 12 is a perspective view from the rear of the structure shown in Figure 11. Figure 13 is a view from the rear of the structure shown in Figure 11. Figure 14 is an enlarged view from the left side of the gap 42a between the power box 100 and the light source unit 12 in another example of the lighting device, with some parts removed.

[0042] In the alternative lighting device shown in Figures 11 to 14, the two reflectors at the top and bottom ends are not provided inside the housing 13 of the light source unit 12 that constitutes the lighting device body 11a. Inside the housing 13, a reflector member 90 is provided, in which two reflectors 91 on the left and right sides are integrally connected by a connecting plate portion 92. The connecting plate portion 92 of the reflector member 90 is superimposed on the inner surface of the base plate 15 of the housing 13 and fixed. In this state, the two reflectors 91 at the left and right ends are positioned adjacent to the left and right wall surfaces of the rectangular cylindrical portion 14 that constitutes the housing 13, and are inclined toward the opening of the housing 13 so that the distance between them increases. The light source side surface of each reflector 91 is mirror-finished, for example, by mirror polishing.

[0043] As shown in Figures 12 to 14, in another example of a lighting device, the power box 100 is positioned on the rear side of the light source unit 12 with a gap 42a. The power box 100 includes a roughly rectangular parallelepiped housing body 101 with an open front end, and a cover 102 that is screwed to the front end of the housing body 101 and closes the opening at the front end. As shown in Figure 14, the upper end of the cover 102 extends above the upper end of the housing body 101 and is detachably fixed to the light source unit 12 by a screw (not shown) that passes through a cylindrical body 108 provided between the cover 102 and the base plate 15 of the light source unit 12.

[0044] On the back of the base plate 15 of the light source unit 12, a long, flat mounting plate 104 extending in the left-right direction is fixed below the lower end of the housing body 101 of the power supply box 100. A hinge 106 is attached between the lower end of the power supply box 100 and the mounting plate 104. This allows the power supply box 100 to pivot relative to the light source unit 12 around a pivot axis along the left-right direction.

[0045] A power supply unit (not shown) including a power supply circuit is mounted on the rear end of the inner surface of the power box 100. When performing maintenance on the power supply unit of the power box 100, the screws attached to the upper end of the power box 100 are removed from the light source unit 12, and then the power box 100 is swung to the rear side around the pivot axis, and the cover 102 is removed from the housing body 101 to expose the power supply unit to the outside.

[0046] In this example, as in the configurations shown in Figures 1 to 11, the base plate 15 is provided with holes through which the wiring components 40 pass. Also, as shown in Figures 13 and 14, at least the portion of the wiring components 40 positioned between the light source unit 12 and the power supply box 50 is positioned to overlap with the power supply box 50 when viewed from the rear, and extends in a direction perpendicular to the back surface of the base plate 15. Furthermore, the maximum gap dimension between the opposing surfaces of the light source unit 12 and the power supply box 100 is smaller than the outer diameter of the cylindrical surface having the maximum outer diameter of the wiring terminals connected to the power supply box 100 when exposed to the outside. In this example, the other configurations and operations are the same as those in Figures 1 to 11.

[0047] Furthermore, in the configurations shown in Figures 1 to 11 above, similar to the configurations shown in Figures 12 to 14, the reflectors can also be provided only at the left and right ends of the light source unit 12, rather than at both the left and right ends and both the up and down ends. Also, in each of the above examples, the reflectors can also be provided only at the up and down ends of the light source unit 12, rather than at both the left and right ends and both the up and down ends.

[0048] Furthermore, in each of the above examples, the wiring component for supplying power from the power supply unit to the light source may be at least one wire without an insulating tube enclosing multiple wires, and a hole for the wire to pass through may be formed in the base plate 15, and the portion of the wire located between the light source unit 12 and the power boxes 50, 100 may be positioned so as to overlap with the power boxes 50, 100 when viewed from the rear. The wiring component 40 may be exposed in the gap and connected from the power box, or it may be protected and connected by a member such as a tube enclosing the wire. In this application, it is not essential that the wiring component is exposed in the gap space between the light source unit and the power box and connected in a straight line. Also, in this application, it is not essential that the lighting device has a reflector.
