Means for Solving the Problems

[0005] To solve the above problems, according to one aspect of the present invention, a projector is provided comprising: a light source device; an image forming device that generates image light from light emitted from the light source device; a projection optical device that projects the image light emitted from the image forming device; a first sound wave generator that emits a first sound wave; and a second sound wave generator that emits a second sound wave, provided independently of the first sound wave generator, wherein the first sound wave generator has a first speaker that emits the first sound wave and a speaker housing that supports the first speaker; the second sound wave generator is not supported by the speaker housing and has a second speaker that emits the second sound wave; and the first direction in which the first sound wave generator emits the first sound wave and the second direction in which the second sound wave generator emits the second sound wave are different from the projection direction of the image light in the projection optical device, and the angle between the first direction and the second direction is 90 degrees or more. [Brief explanation of the drawing]

[0006] [Figure 1] This is a schematic diagram of a projector according to one embodiment. [Figure 2] This is a perspective view showing the main parts of the mounting structure for the first speaker device. [Figure 3] This is a cross-sectional view taken along the line III-III in Figure 1. [Figure 4] This is a plan view showing the main components of the bottom wall. [Modes for carrying out the invention]

[0007] One embodiment of the present invention will be described in detail below with reference to the drawings. Note that, for the sake of clarity, the drawings used in the following description may show enlarged versions of key features, and the dimensional ratios of each component may not be the same as those of the actual components.

[0008] Figure 1 is a schematic diagram of the projector 100 of this embodiment. As shown in Figure 1, the projector 100 of this embodiment includes a light source device 110, an image forming apparatus 120, a projection optical apparatus 130, an outer casing 140, a first speaker device (first sound wave generator) 150, a second speaker device (second sound wave generator) 160, and a cooling device 170.

[0009] In the following, the arrangement of each component may be explained using the XYZ coordinate system shown in the drawings. In each drawing, the Y axis is the axis along the direction in which the projector 100 projects the image. The X axis is perpendicular to the X axis and is the axis along the width direction of the screen SCR, which is the projection surface onto which the image is projected. The Z axis is perpendicular to the X and Y axes and is the axis along the normal to the mounting surface on which the projector 100 is installed.

[0010] In this embodiment, for example, both directions along the Z-axis are collectively referred to as the "up / down Z direction" of the projector 100, the direction toward +Z is referred to as the "upper side", and the direction toward -Z is referred to as the "lower side". Similarly, both directions along the X-axis are collectively referred to as the "left / right X direction" of the projector 100, the direction toward +X is referred to as the "right side", and the direction toward -X is referred to as the "left side". Furthermore, both directions along the Y-axis may be collectively referred to as the "front / back Y direction" of the projector 100, the direction toward +Y is referred to as the "front side", and the direction toward -Y is referred to as the "rear side". In this embodiment, the vertical direction Z, the front-to-back direction Y, and the left-to-right direction X are merely names used to describe the arrangement of the components of the projector 100, and do not define the actual installation posture or orientation of the projector 100.

[0011] The outer casing 140 is a box-shaped component that is generally rectangular in shape and has a hollow interior. The outer casing 140 houses the light source device 110, the image forming apparatus 120, the projection optical apparatus 130, the first speaker device 150, the second speaker device 160, and the cooling device 170.

[0012] The exterior casing 140 has a front wall 41, a top wall 42, a right side wall 43, a left side wall 44, a rear wall 45, and a bottom wall 46. In Figure 1, the top wall 42 is shown as a transparent member to illustrate the internal structure of the exterior casing 140.

[0013] In the exterior enclosure 140, the front wall portion 41 is a plate located in the +Y direction, which is the front side in the front-rear direction Y; the top wall portion 42 is a plate located in the +Z direction, which is the upper side in the up-down direction Z; the right wall portion 43 is a plate located in the +X direction, which is the right side in the left-right direction X; the left wall portion 44 is a plate located in the -X direction, which is the left side in the left-right direction X; the rear wall portion 45 is a plate located in the -Y direction, which is the rear side in the front-rear direction Y; and the bottom wall portion 46 is a plate located in the -Z direction, which is the lower side in the up-down direction Z.

[0014] The front wall portion 41 is the wall portion that faces the screen SCR, which is the projection surface from which the projector 100 projects an image. The front wall portion 41 and the rear wall portion 45 are arranged parallel to the XZ plane and are positioned to face each other. The rear wall portion 45 faces the opposite side of the front wall portion 41 in the front-rear direction Y along the Y axis.

[0015] The right wall portion 43 and the left wall portion 44 are arranged parallel to the YZ plane and face each other. The right wall portion 43 and the left wall portion 44 face opposite each other in the left-right direction X along the X axis which is perpendicular to the Y axis.

[0016] The top wall 42 and the bottom wall 46 are arranged parallel to the XY plane and face each other. The top wall 42 and the bottom wall 46 face opposite each other in the vertical direction Z along the Z axis which is perpendicular to the X and Y axes.

[0017] In this embodiment, the projector 100 is installed with the bottom wall portion 46 of the outer casing 140 facing the projector mounting surface, for example, the top surface of a table. In other words, the top wall portion 42 is located opposite the bottom wall portion 46 that faces the projector mounting surface.

[0018] The front side wall portion 41, the right side wall portion 43, the left side wall portion 44, and the top wall portion 42 are arranged to intersect with each other, specifically to be orthogonal to each other. The front side wall portion 41, the right side wall portion 43, the left side wall portion 44, and the bottom wall portion 46 are arranged to intersect with each other, specifically to be orthogonal to each other.

[0019] The light source device 110 includes a blue light emission portion 110B that emits blue light LB, a green light emission portion 110G that emits green light LG, and a red light emission portion 110R that emits red light LR. The blue light emission portion 110B includes, for example, a light emitting element that emits blue light LB having a blue wavelength band of 420 nm to 500 nm, and a collimating element that collimates the blue light LB. The green light emission portion 110G includes, for example, a light emitting element that emits green light LG having a green wavelength band of 500 nm to 600 nm, and a collimating element that collimates the green light LG. The red light emission portion 110R includes, for example, a light emitting element that emits red light LR having a red wavelength band of 610 nm to 700 nm, and a collimating element that collimates the red light LR.

[0020] The image forming apparatus 120 includes a blue light modulation portion 120B, a green light modulation portion 120G, a red light modulation portion 120R, and a light combining optical system 121. The blue light modulation portion 120B is composed of a liquid crystal panel 120BP, and polarizing plates (not shown) respectively provided on the incident side and the emission side of the liquid crystal panel 120BP. The blue light modulation portion 120B modulates the blue light LB incident from the blue light emission portion 110B in accordance with an image signal. The green light modulation portion 120G is composed of a liquid crystal panel 120GP, and polarizing plates (not shown) respectively provided on the incident side and the emission side of the liquid crystal panel 120GP. The green light modulation portion 120G modulates the green light LG incident from the green light emission portion 110G in accordance with an image signal. The red light modulation portion 120R is composed of a liquid crystal panel 120RP, and polarizing plates (not shown) respectively provided on the incident side and the emission side of the liquid crystal panel 120RP. The red light modulation portion 120R modulates the red light LR incident from the red light emission portion 110R in accordance with an image signal.

[0021] The light combining optical system 121 is constituted by a substantially cubic cross dichroic prism. The light combining optical system 121 generates full-color image light GW by combining the respective color image lights from the respective light modulation sections 120B, 120G, and 120R. In this manner, the image forming apparatus 120 emits the combined full-color image light toward the projection optical device 130.

[0022] The projection optical device 130 enlarges and projects the image light GW emitted from the image forming apparatus 120 toward the screen SCR. By the light being projected from the projection optical device 130, an enlarged color image is displayed on the screen SCR. The projection optical device 130 includes a plurality of projection lenses not illustrated. Note that the number of projection lenses constituting the projection optical device 130 is not limited.

[0023] In the case of the present embodiment, the projection optical device 130 is disposed on the front side wall section 41 of the exterior housing 140. In the present embodiment, the distal end surface of the projection optical device 130 protrudes beyond the surface of the front side wall section 41 of the exterior housing 140, but may be flush with the surface of the front side wall section 41 of the exterior housing 140, or positioned on the inner side thereof.

[0024] In the projector 100 of the present embodiment, a heat generating member that generates heat during driving is accommodated inside the exterior housing 140. In the case of the present embodiment, examples of the heat generating member can include, for example, the respective color light emission sections 110B, 110G, and 110R of the light source device 110, and the respective light modulation sections 120B, 120G, and 120R of the image forming apparatus 120.

[0025] The cooling device 170 includes a first fan 171, a second fan 172, a duct member 173, a first heat dissipation member 174, and a second heat dissipation member 175. The first fan 171 draws cooling air K into the main housing area A1 of the outer casing 140. The main housing area A1 is the area that houses the light source device 110 and the image forming apparatus 120, which are the main components of the projector 100. The first fan 171 supplies cooling air K to the respective light modulation sections 120B, 120G, and 120R of the image forming apparatus 120. The first fan 171 also supplies cooling air K to a heat dissipation member (not shown) of the blue light emission section 110B of the light source device 110, which generates less heat.

[0026] The second fan 172 draws cooling air K into a duct member 173 located inside the outer casing 140. The duct member 173 sequentially guides the cooling air K drawn in by the first fan 171 to the first heat dissipation member 174 and the second heat dissipation member 175. The cooling air K that has passed through the second heat dissipation member 175 is discharged to the outside through an exhaust opening 145 provided in the rear wall portion 45. For example, centrifugal fans or sirocco fans can be used as the first fan 171 and the second fan 172.

[0027] In this embodiment, the first heat dissipation member 174 is, for example, a heat sink thermally connected to the red light emission section 110R of the light source device 110. The second heat dissipation member 175 is positioned downstream of the first heat dissipation member 174 and is, for example, a heat sink thermally connected to the green light emission section 110G of the light source device 110.

[0028] The first speaker device 150 is positioned facing the inner surface of the right side wall portion 43 of the outer casing 140. In this modified example, the first speaker device 150 is located in the gap S1 between a part of the side wall 173a of the duct member 173 and the right side wall portion 43. With this configuration, even when a cooling device 170 is provided, the space inside the outer casing 140 can be effectively utilized, thereby suppressing an increase in the size of the outer casing 140 and, consequently, the size of the projector 100.

[0029] The right side wall portion 43 has a first speaker opening 143 consisting of multiple openings in the portion facing the first speaker device 150. The first speaker opening 143 is an opening for extracting the first sound wave SW1 emitted from the first speaker device 150 to the outside. The first speaker opening 143 is composed of multiple openings.

[0030] The first speaker device 150 includes a first speaker 151, a bass output means 152, and a speaker housing 153. The first speaker 151 is a full-range speaker that emits a first sound wave SW1 that includes a frequency range from low to high frequencies. The first speaker 151 has a diaphragm 151a and a yoke 151b. The diaphragm 151a includes a first output surface 151M that outputs the first sound wave SW1 by its own vibration. The yoke 151b forms part of the magnetic circuit and also functions as a base member that supports the entire first speaker 151. In addition to the above components, the first speaker 151 also has a voice coil, a magnet, etc., but since this is a typical speaker configuration, a description is omitted.

[0031] The bass output means 152 outputs the low-frequency range of the first sound wave SW1 emitted by the first speaker 151 from the speaker housing 153. The bass output means 152 in this embodiment consists of a pair of passive radiators 152a. Note that the bass output means is not limited to passive radiators; for example, a bass reflex type may also be used. Unlike the first speaker 151, each of the pair of passive radiators 152a has only a diaphragm and does not have a magnetic circuit. Each of the pair of passive radiators 152a includes an output surface 152M that outputs sound waves. The pair of passive radiators 152a are installed back to back so that their respective output surfaces 152M face in opposite directions.

[0032] The speaker enclosure 153 supports the first speaker 151 and a pair of passive radiators 152a. The speaker enclosure 153 functions as an enclosure that improves sound quality by covering the back of the first speaker 151. The inside of the speaker enclosure 153 is a sealed space. Therefore, even though the pair of passive radiators 152a do not have a magnetic circuit, they vibrate in response to the air vibrations generated inside the speaker enclosure 153 when the first speaker 151 is operating, and function as a bass output means that enhances and outputs the bass of the first sound wave SW1.

[0033] The first speaker device 150 is positioned inside the outer casing 140 such that the first output surface 151M and one of the output surfaces 152M of the pair of passive radiators 152a face to the right (+X side). Therefore, the first speaker device 150 emits the first sound wave SW1 in the direction to the right (+X direction). In this embodiment, the direction to the right (+X direction) corresponds to the "first direction".

[0034] Figure 2 is a perspective view showing the main parts of the mounting structure between the first speaker device 150 and the outer casing 140. As shown in Figure 2, the speaker housing 153 of the first speaker device 150 is attached to the outer housing 140 at multiple points via bushing members 154 attached to bushing mounting portions 153a. The bushing members 154 are inserted into protrusions 46a provided on the bottom wall portion 46, thereby attaching the speaker housing 153 to the bottom wall portion 46.

[0035] The bushing member 154 attaches the first speaker device 150 to the outer casing 140 and also functions as an external force absorber that absorbs vibrations of the first speaker device 150. The bushing member 154 is made of an elastic material such as rubber or resin. With this configuration, vibrations caused by the low-frequency range of the first sound wave SW1 emitted from the first speaker device 150 can be absorbed by the bushing member 154. Therefore, the generation of noise due to vibrations of the first speaker device 150 can be suppressed.

[0036] Figure 3 is a cross-sectional view taken along the line III-III in Figure 1. Figure 4 is a plan view showing the main components of the bottom wall 46. As shown in Figures 3 and 4, the bottom wall portion 46 of the outer casing 140 has a first opening 48 and a second opening 49. The first opening 48 is composed of a plurality of first openings 48a located opposite the first fan 171, and functions as an air intake that draws in the cooling air K drawn in by the first fan 171 into the interior of the outer casing 140. This allows the cooling air K to be efficiently drawn into the interior of the outer casing 140 through the first opening 48.

[0037] The second opening 49 is composed of a plurality of second openings 49a located opposite the first speaker device 150, and functions as an opening that extracts the first sound wave SW1 emitted from the first speaker device 150 to the outside of the outer casing 140. This allows the bass emitted from the passive radiator 152a of the first speaker device 150, which is facing the side wall 173a of the duct member 173, to be efficiently extracted to the outside of the outer casing 140 through the second opening 49.

[0038] Furthermore, as shown in Figure 4, the first opening 48 and the second opening 49 are provided in the bottom wall 46 so that they are adjacent to each other. With this configuration, since the openings of the first opening 48 and the second opening 49 are adjacent to each other and arranged continuously, the appearance of the bottom wall 46, that is, the design of the projector 100, can be improved compared to when the openings are arranged irregularly.

[0039] As shown in Figure 1, the second speaker device 160 is positioned facing the inner surface of the left side wall portion 44 of the outer casing 140. The second speaker device 160 has a second speaker 161. The second speaker 161 is a tweeter that emits a second sound wave SW2, specifically a mid-to-high frequency band, which is at least the high-frequency range of the first sound wave SW1 emitted by the first speaker 151.

[0040] The second speaker device 160 does not have a speaker enclosure, and the second speaker 161 is not supported by the speaker enclosure 153 of the first speaker device 150. Thus, the second speaker device 160 is not housed in the speaker enclosure 153 of the first speaker device 150, and the second speaker device 160 is provided independently of the first speaker device 150. The second speaker device 160 is smaller than the first speaker device 150.

[0041] The second speaker device 160 is positioned in the gap S2 between the light source device 110 and the left side wall portion 44 of the outer casing 140. Specifically, the second speaker device 160 is positioned in the dead space between the left rear corner portion 47R, where the left side wall portion 44 and the rear side wall portion 45 of the outer casing 140 are connected, and the light source device 110. This configuration makes effective use of the space within the outer casing 140, thereby suppressing the need to enlarge the outer casing 140 and, consequently, the projector 100.

[0042] The left side wall 44 has a second speaker opening 144 in the portion facing the second speaker device 160. The second speaker opening 144 is an opening for extracting the second sound wave SW2 emitted from the second speaker device 160 to the outside. The second speaker opening 144 is composed of multiple openings.

[0043] The second speaker 161 has a different frequency band but shares a common configuration with the first speaker 151 and includes a second output surface 161M that outputs the second sound wave SW2. The second speaker 161 is fixed to the outer casing 140 via a retaining member (not shown).

[0044] The second speaker device 160 is positioned inside the outer casing 140 such that its second output surface 161M faces to the left (-X side). Therefore, the second speaker device 160 emits a second sound wave in the left direction (-X direction). In this embodiment, the left direction (-X direction) corresponds to the "second direction".

[0045] In the projector 100 of this embodiment, the first direction (+X direction) in which the first speaker device 150 emits the first sound wave SW1 and the second direction (-X direction) in which the second speaker device 160 emits the second sound wave SW2 are different from the front-to-back direction Y, which is the projection direction of the image light GW in the projection optical device 130. In this embodiment, the first direction (+X direction) and the second direction (-X direction) are orthogonal to the front-to-back direction Y, and face opposite directions. Therefore, the angle between the first direction (+X direction) and the second direction (-X direction) is 90 degrees or more, specifically 180 degrees.

[0046] The first sound wave SW1 output from the first output surface 151M mainly contains mid-to-high frequencies, while the first sound wave SW1 output from the output surface 152M of the passive radiator 152a mainly contains low frequencies. Of the first sound waves SW1, the mid-to-high frequency waves are highly directional, while the low frequency waves are less directional.

[0047] Therefore, the mid-to-high frequencies of the first sound wave SW1 emitted from the first speaker device 150 spread to the right side (+X side) of the projector 100. Also, because the low frequencies of the first sound wave SW1 emitted from the first speaker device 150 have weak directivity, they spread in all directions around the projector 100.

[0048] Furthermore, the second sound wave SW2 output from the second output surface 161M is a highly directional mid-to-high frequency sound wave. Therefore, the second sound wave SW2 emitted from the second speaker device 160 spreads to the left side (-X side) of the projector 100.

[0049] As described above, the projector 100 of this embodiment includes a light source device 110, an image forming device 120 that generates image light from light emitted from the light source device, a projection optical device 130 that projects the image light GW emitted from the image forming device 120, a first speaker device 150 that emits a first sound wave SW1, and a second speaker device 160 that is provided independently of the first speaker device 150 and emits a second sound wave SW2. The first speaker device 150 has a first speaker 151 that emits the first sound wave SW1 and a speaker housing 153 that supports the first speaker 151. The second speaker device 160 is not supported by the speaker housing 153 and has a second speaker 161 that emits a second sound wave SW2 that includes mid-to-high frequencies from the first sound wave. The first direction from which the first speaker device 150 emits the first sound wave SW1, which is the right direction (+X direction), and the second direction from which the second speaker device 160 emits the second sound wave SW2, which is the left direction (-X direction), are different from the projection direction of the image light GW in the projection optical device 130, and the angle between the first direction and the second direction is 90 degrees or more. In this modified example, the angle between the first direction and the second direction is 180 degrees.

[0050] According to the projector 100 of this embodiment, by providing a first speaker device 150 and a second speaker device 160 that emit sound waves in two different directions from the outer casing 140 as separate components, the projector 100 can be made smaller compared to conventional configurations that use one large speaker device. Furthermore, since each of the first speaker device 150 and the second speaker device 160 emits sound waves in a direction different from the projection direction of the image light GW, it is possible to provide a projector that achieves both miniaturization of the device configuration and high sound quality.

[0051] In the projector 100 of this embodiment, the first speaker device 150 and the second speaker device 160 are provided on both sides of the outer casing 140 in the left-right direction X, so that mid-to-high frequencies can be emitted in both directions in the left-right direction X. Furthermore, since the first speaker device 150 has a bass output means 152, it emits bass with weak directionality, so that bass can be emitted in all directions from the projector 100. Therefore, the projector 100 of this embodiment can allow viewers to hear stereo sound across the entire frequency range, including low to mid-high frequencies, in the area surrounding the projector 100.

[0052] It should be noted that the technical scope of the present invention is not limited to the embodiments described above, and various modifications can be made without departing from the spirit of the invention. Furthermore, the specific details regarding the shape, number, arrangement, materials, etc., of each component of the speaker device and projector are not limited to the above embodiments and can be modified as appropriate. In the above embodiments, the projector of the present invention is shown as an example of application to a projector using a liquid crystal panel, but it is not limited to this. The projector of the present invention may also be applied to a configuration using a digital micromirror device as the light modulation unit. Moreover, the projector does not have to have multiple light modulation units, and may have only one light modulation unit.

[0053] In the above embodiment, the second speaker device 160 is shown as a single unit consisting of the second speaker 161 without a speaker enclosure. However, the second speaker device may have a speaker enclosure that is provided independently of the first speaker device. In other words, the second speaker device may have a speaker enclosure separate from the speaker enclosure of the first speaker device. With this configuration, the sound quality of the second speaker can be improved by the speaker enclosure of the second speaker device functioning as an enclosure.

[0054] Furthermore, in the above embodiment, the case in which the first speaker device 150 and the second speaker device 160 are arranged facing opposite directions in the left-right direction X (the angle between the first and second directions is 180 degrees) was given as an example, but the layout of the first speaker device 150 and the second speaker device 160 is not limited to this.

[0055] The first speaker device 150 and the second speaker device 160 only need to have an angle of 90 degrees or more between the first and second directions in which they emit sound waves. For example, the first speaker device 150 may emit a first sound wave SW1 in either the left or right direction X, and the second speaker device 160 may emit a second sound wave SW2 in the rear (-Y) direction in the front-to-back direction Y. Alternatively, the positions of the first speaker device 150 and the second speaker device 160 may be swapped. In this case, the output surfaces of the first speaker device 150 and the second speaker device 160 may be installed so as to be inclined with respect to the surfaces of the walls of the outer casing 140.

[0056] Furthermore, in the above embodiment, an example was given in which the first speaker device 150 is a full-range speaker and the second speaker device 160 is a tweeter that emits mid-to-high frequencies, but the present invention is not limited to this. In the present invention, the second speaker device may be a full-range speaker, similar to the first speaker device, as long as it is provided independently of the first speaker device, and may emit only mid-to-high frequencies.

[0057] Furthermore, in the above embodiment, an example was given in which the first speaker device 150 emits a first sound wave SW1 toward the right (+X direction) and the second speaker device 160 emits a second sound wave SW2 toward the left (-X direction). In other words, an example was given in which the first speaker device 150 and the second speaker device 160 are arranged so that the first output surface 151M and the second output surface 161M are perpendicular to the X axis, but the orientation of the first speaker device 150 and the second speaker device 160 is not limited to this. The first speaker device 150 and the second speaker device 160 may be arranged in a state in which the first output surface 151M and the second output surface 161M face either the front-to-back direction Y. For example, if the first output surface 151M and the second output surface 161M are slightly tilted so that they face forward (+Y side), higher quality sound can be provided to viewers who are in front of the projector (+Y side). Furthermore, if the first output surface 151M and the second output surface 161M are slightly tilted so that they face the rear (-Y side), higher quality sound can be provided to viewers located behind the projector (-Y side).

[0058] Furthermore, in the above embodiment, the output surfaces of the first speaker device 150 and the second speaker device 160 may be inclined in the vertical direction Z. In other words, within a virtual plane formed by a plane along the XZ plane, the output surfaces of the first speaker device 150 and the second speaker device 160 may be inclined with respect to the Z axis.

[0059] A summary of this disclosure is provided below.

[0060] (Note 1) Light source device, An image forming apparatus that generates image light from light emitted from the aforementioned light source device, A projection optical device that projects the image light emitted from the image forming apparatus, A first sound wave generator that emits a first sound wave, A second sound wave generator, which is provided independently of the first sound wave generator and emits a second sound wave, Equipped with, The first sound wave generating device comprises a first speaker that emits the first sound wave and a speaker housing that supports the first speaker. The second sound wave generating device is not supported by the speaker housing and has a second speaker that emits the second sound wave. The first direction in which the first sound wave generator emits the first sound wave and the second direction in which the second sound wave generator emits the second sound wave are different from the projection direction of the image light in the projection optical device, The angle formed by the first direction and the second direction is 90 degrees or more. projector.

[0061] This projector configuration allows for a smaller projector compared to conventional configurations that use a single large speaker, by providing a first sound wave generator and a second sound wave generator, which emit sound waves in two different directions from the outer casing, as separate components. Furthermore, since each of the first and second sound wave generators emits sound waves in a direction different from the projection direction of the image light, it is possible to provide a projector that achieves both miniaturization and high sound quality.

[0062] (Note 2) The second sound wave emitted by the second speaker includes at least the high-frequency band of the first sound wave. The projector described in Appendix 1.

[0063] With this configuration, at least high frequencies are emitted from both the first and second speakers, allowing the listener to experience high-quality stereo sound.

[0064] (Note 3) The first and second directions are perpendicular to the projection direction, The angle between the first direction and the second direction is 180 degrees. The projector specified in Appendix 1 or Appendix 2.

[0065] With this configuration, the first and second sound wave generators are provided on both sides of the outer casing, allowing sound to be emitted from the outer casing toward both sides. Therefore, high-quality sound can be emitted toward the area surrounding the projector.

[0066] (Note 4) The first sound wave generator further includes a bass output means that outputs the low-frequency band of the first sound wave from the speaker housing. A projector listed in any one of the appendices 1 through 3.

[0067] With this configuration, the first sound wave generator can function as a full-range speaker that emits first sound waves including low to mid-high frequencies.

[0068] (Note 5) An outer casing housing the light source device, the image forming apparatus, the projection optical apparatus, the first sound wave generator, and the second sound wave generator, further comprising: A projector listed in any one of the appendices 1 through 4.

[0069] With this configuration, the projector's components are housed inside the outer casing, which enhances the projector's aesthetic appeal compared to configurations where the speaker is exposed on the outside of the casing.

[0070] (Note 6) The second sound wave generating device is located in the gap between the light source device and the outer casing. The projector described in Appendix 5.

[0071] This configuration allows for efficient use of space within the external casing, thereby preventing the external casing from becoming larger and, consequently, the projector itself from becoming larger.

[0072] (Note 7) The speaker housing of the first sound wave generator is attached to the outer casing via a vibration-absorbing bushing member. The projector described in Appendix 5 or Appendix 6.

[0073] With this configuration, vibrations caused by particularly low-frequency bands of the first sound waves emitted from the first sound wave generator can be absorbed by the bushing member. Therefore, the generation of noise due to vibrations of the first sound wave generator can be suppressed.

[0074] (Note 8) The exterior housing is further equipped with a cooling device that takes in cooling air, The cooling device includes a duct member that guides the cooling air, The first sound wave generating device is located in the gap between a part of the side wall of the duct member and the outer casing, A projector listed in any one of the appendices 5 through 7.

[0075] This configuration allows for efficient cooling of heat-generating components housed within the outer casing. Furthermore, even when a cooling system is included, the projector's size can be kept down by effectively utilizing the space within the outer casing.

[0076] (Note 9) The aforementioned exterior housing includes a bottom wall portion, The bottom wall portion has a first opening for taking the cooling air into the interior of the outer casing, and a second opening for taking out the first sound waves emitted from the first sound wave generator. The first opening and the second opening are provided in the bottom wall so that they are adjacent to each other. The projector described in Appendix 8.

[0077] With this configuration, the first and second openings are adjacent to each other and arranged in a continuous line, which improves the appearance of the bottom wall, and thus the aesthetic design of the projector, compared to when the openings are arranged irregularly.
