Additive-printable filters for gas turbines

Abstract

We provide combustors for gas turbines. [Solution] The combustor includes a combustion liner defining a combustion chamber. The combustor further includes a fluid supply line for supplying fluid to the combustion chamber. The combustor further includes a filter positioned in fluid communication with the fluid supply line to remove particulate matter from the fluid. The filter extends along a central axis from a front end to a rear end. The filter includes a base flange defining an opening base at the front end, a downstream segment defining the rear end, and a filter screen extending between the base flange and the downstream segment. The filter screen defines a plurality of openings having internal and non-circular shapes, the plurality of openings being sized to allow fluid to pass through from the inside of the filter and to prevent particulate matter from passing through from the inside.
