Abstract
Description
[Technical Field]
[0001] The present invention relates to a composition comprising at least one ceramide-type compound, and a cosmetic method using the composition. [Background technology]
[0002] Ceramides present in the stratum corneum of the skin form a lipid barrier necessary for retaining moisture and play a crucial role in maintaining moisture within the skin. Ceramides in the stratum corneum are produced by the breakdown of cerebrosides by an enzyme known as cerebrosidase. Ceramides are partially converted into phytosphingosine and sphingosine by the enzyme known as ceramidase. Phytosphingosine and sphingosine play important roles in regulating cell proliferation and differentiation. Six different ceramide types, each with a different function, exist in human skin.
[0003] There are several commercially available cosmetics that contain ceramides with a considerable amount of one or more types of oils.
[0004] In addition, the formulation of environmentally friendly cosmetics, designed and developed with environmental issues in mind, is becoming a major goal in addressing global challenges.
[0005] Therefore, it is essential to propose more sustainable compositions, preparation methods, and ingredients to address these environmental problems.
[0006] In this context, it is important to develop novel cosmetic compositions with a better carbon footprint, particularly by promoting the use of renewable raw materials and / or materials with a good index of naturalness and / or materials of natural origin. [0009] In cosmetics containing ceramide-type compounds and a considerable amount of oil, the ceramide-type compounds are dissolved in the oil and do not tend to form useful microsheet structures when applied to keratinous substances such as skin. Therefore, there is a need to provide compositions that can produce microsheet structures containing ceramide-type compounds.
[0010] On the other hand, because ceramide-type compounds have low solubility in water, dispersions of ceramide-type compounds have been found to be unstable in some cases. Therefore, there is another need to provide stable compositions containing ceramide-type compounds.

[Figure 2] This is a micrograph obtained by microscopic observation of the composition according to Example 2. [Figure 3] This is a micrograph obtained by microscopic observation of the composition according to Example 4. [Figure 4] This is a micrograph obtained by microscopic observation of the composition according to Example 5. [Modes for carrying out the invention]
[0030] As a result of diligent research, the inventors have discovered that it is possible to provide a stable composition that can form a microsheet structure containing a ceramide-type compound.
[0031] Therefore, the composition according to the present invention is (a) at least one ceramide-type compound, and (b) at least one glycolipid Includes, The amount of (c) oil in the composition is less than 5% by mass, preferably less than 3% by mass, and more preferably less than 1% by mass, relative to the total mass of the composition.
[0032] The composition according to the present invention can form or includes at least one microsheet structure in the form of a small sheet with a size in the micron range.
[0033] The microsheet structure can be identified by microscopic observation. The microsheet structure may have a length or width of 1000 μm or less, preferably 750 μm or less, and more preferably 500 μm or less.
[0034] The thickness of the microsheet structure is not limited. The thickness of the microsheet structure may be very small, such as 10 μm or less, preferably 5 μm or less, and more preferably 1 μm or less.
[0035] The microsheet structure contains (a) a ceramide-type compound. The microsheet structure can be prepared from a complex formed by (a) a ceramide-type compound and (b) a glycolipid.
[0036] (a) Ceramide-type compounds are difficult to dissolve or disperse in water, for example. Therefore, (a) ceramide-type compounds tend to crystallize and form aggregates or precipitates.
[0037] However, the above-mentioned complex containing at least a microsheet-type (a) ceramide compound can be stably dispersed in water, for example. Therefore, the composition according to the present invention is so stable that it does not form any aggregates or precipitates based on the (a) ceramide compound, or forms only very small amounts of aggregates or precipitates based on the (a) ceramide compound.
[0038] (a) Ceramide-type compounds are known to function as humectants that can provide a moist or wet feeling, and / or as whitening agents that can whiten or lighten keratinous substances such as skin. In addition, (a) ceramide-type compounds are also known to improve the barrier effect of keratinous substances such as skin.
[0039] Therefore, the composition according to the present invention can provide various cosmetic effects derived from (a) ceramide-type compounds, such as a skin moisturizing effect, a skin whitening effect, and an effect of protecting the skin by strengthening the skin's barrier function when the stratum corneum is damaged, for example by dry skin.
[0040] Furthermore, the microsheet structure containing (a) a ceramide-type compound allows the composition according to the present invention to effectively adhere the (a) ceramide-type compound to keratinous substances such as skin. The microsheet structure can easily adhere to the skin and therefore can easily exert the effects derived from the (a) ceramide-type compound.
[0041] Therefore, it is possible to enhance the inherent properties of ceramide-type compounds, such as (a) moisturizing effect on the skin and strengthening of the skin's barrier function.
[0042] Furthermore, (a) the microsheet structure containing the ceramide-type compound can impart a smooth texture and improve the appearance of the skin by reducing the visibility of fine lines and wrinkles.
[0043] In addition, the microsheet structure in the composition according to the present invention can impart to the composition a unique optical effect, such as a pearly luster due to light interference.
[0044] On the other hand, (b) glycolipids are known to possess unique biological activities, such as anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic, and antibacterial effects. Therefore, microsheet structures containing (b) glycolipids are thought to be useful for the care of keratinous substances such as skin. In particular, the compositions according to the present invention are thought to be useful for the treatment or care of acne-prone skin.
[0045] (a) Ceramide-type compounds and / or (b) glycolipids may be of natural origin, renewable materials, and biodegradable. Therefore, compositions according to the present invention may contain environmentally friendly components.
[0046] The present invention will be described in more detail below.
[0047] [Composition] The composition according to the present invention is (a) at least one ceramide-type compound, and (b) at least one glycolipid Includes, The amount of (c) oil in the composition is less than 5% by mass, preferably less than 3% by mass, and more preferably less than 1% by mass, relative to the total mass of the composition.

Chitosan consists of glucosamine sugar units (deacetylated units) and N-acetyl-D-glucosamine units (acetylated units) linked together by β-type bonds (1,4), and is a poly(N-acetyl-D-glucosamine)-poly(D-glucosamine) type polymer.
[0249] More preferably, the degree of acetylation of chitosan is 40% or less, preferably 35% or less, preferably 25% or less, preferably 15% or less, and preferably 10% or less.
[0250] The degree of acetylation is the percentage of acetylated units relative to the total number of units, and can be determined by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) or titration with a strong base.

[0255] One method for preparing chitosan is described in WO03 / 068824.
[0256] Preferably, the chitosan used in the present invention is in powder form. It is commercially available from Kitozyme under the names Kiosmetine or Kionutrime, for example, Kiosmetine-CSH and Kiosmetine P.
