Summary of the Invention

Problems to be Solved by the Invention

[0004] The above drain valve element is configured to be placed on a placement surface when installed in a conventional vertical pipe, so that positive pressure air generated in the downstream outflow pipe during drainage inflow lifts the drain valve element upward, allowing the positive pressure air generated in the outflow pipe to escape to the inflow portion side at atmospheric pressure.

[0005] However, when the above-mentioned drain valve body is installed in a horizontal pipe, it is not possible to mount the drain valve body on the mounting surface, so it must be fitted and fixed in place. When wastewater flows in, the residual air pressure in the downstream outlet pipe increases (resulting in a positive pressure state), and back pressure is applied to the flexible valve member, which may cause the amount of wastewater to gradually decrease.

[0006] In view of the above circumstances, the present invention aims to provide a drain valve that can be installed in a horizontal piping system and that can release the positive pressure atmosphere in the downstream outlet pipe when wastewater flows in to the inlet side. [Means for solving the problem]

[0007] The invention described in claim 1 is a drain valve body comprising a cylindrical tube and a thin, flexible valve member, One end is designated as an inlet for wastewater to flow in, and the other end is designated as an outlet for the wastewater to flow out. At one end of the aforementioned pipe, the drain valve body is detachably attached to the mounting body to which it is attached. The other end face of the aforementioned pipe has an inclined surface portion cut diagonally with respect to the pipe axis and an open surface surrounded by the inclined surface portion. The valve member is arranged so as to be able to open and close the opening surface, and has a hole that penetrates it in the thickness direction. A covering member is disposed between the inclined surface and the valve member so as to be able to cover the hole. When the wastewater flows in from the inlet of the pipe and the valve member opens its opening, the positive pressure atmosphere on the outlet side is allowed to pass through the hole.

[0008] According to this design, it can be installed in horizontal piping and allows the positive pressure atmosphere in the downstream outlet pipe to escape to the inlet side when wastewater flows in.

[0009] Furthermore, the mounting body is a grease trap or drain manhole with a trap structure for a horizontal pipe. The valve member is arranged such that its base end is on the upper side and its free end is on the lower side. The aforementioned hole is located in the region on the base end side of the valve member, The covering member is disposed on the base end side of the valve member.

[0010] According to this design, drainage can flow downwards, and positive pressure air can be released upwards, making it suitable as a drain valve for horizontal piping grease traps or drainage manholes.

[0011] Furthermore, since the drainage system design standards stipulate that the wastewater flowing into the drainpipe is limited to the lower half of the drainpipe, the drain valve body of the present invention is configured accordingly to prevent the hole from being blocked by the wastewater flowing in from the inlet. In addition, since it does not flex like the valve member when wastewater flows in from the inlet, it helps to prevent the valve member and the cover member from sticking together.

[0012] Furthermore, the covering member is fixed to the inclined surface.

[0013] According to this, the pressure of the positive atmospheric pressure applied from the outlet side causes the cover member to move towards the inlet side, opening the hole and preventing the check valve effect from being impaired.

[0014] Furthermore, the valve member has higher flexibility than the cover member.

[0015] According to this, by making the valve member more flexible than the cover member, wastewater can enter between the valve member and the cover member, preventing the valve member and the cover member from becoming tightly sealed and preventing the positive pressure atmosphere on the outlet side from passing through the hole. Note that "high flexibility" refers to a state in which there is little resistance to bending and it deforms flexibly.

[0016] Furthermore, the covering member is provided with a relief portion extending from the end that is the free end of the valve member to the end that is the base end of the valve member.

[0017] According to this, for example, when a large amount of wastewater flows in from the inflow portion, it is possible to prevent water from entering between the valve member and the cover member and making it impossible to release positive pressure air through the hole. Furthermore, air and wastewater can pass through the relief portion to support the opening of the valve member. Brief Description of the Drawings

[0019] A first embodiment of the present invention will be described below with reference to the drawings. In the following description, the top and bottom of the plane in Figure 1 will be considered the vertical direction. Note that in Figure 3, the hole 72d is omitted, and in Figure 4, the outer tube 71b and cushioning material 73 are omitted. In addition, some parts of the FRP and other components have been omitted for ease of understanding.

[0020] The drain valve body 70 of this embodiment (hereinafter referred to as valve body 70) is, in general terms, used in a drain manhole 10 which comprises a drain inlet 20 into which wastewater flows, a main body 30 connected to the drain inlet 20 and separating water from substances other than water, and a drain outlet 40 connected to the main body 30 and through which the wastewater separated into water and substances other than water flows out.

[0021] The main body 30 is made of fiber-reinforced plastic and is formed in a box shape with an open top. In this embodiment, the drainage inlet 20 is formed of the upper opening of the main body 30 as shown in Figure 1.

[0022] A receiving basket 31 is provided near the drainage inlet 20 of the main body 30, allowing for the removal of food waste and other contaminants mixed in with the wastewater.

[0023] The upper part of the main body 30 is covered with a lid 35. In this embodiment, an open-type lid is used.

[0024] The drainage outlet section 40 uses piping attached to the main body section 30 and is connected to an outlet pipe that carries wastewater to a septic tank, sewer pipe, etc.

[0025] As shown in Figures 2, 3, and 4, the valve body 70 is configured to allow atmospheric pressure air to flow into the drain outlet section 40 when the drain outlet section 40 is under negative pressure, and to allow positive pressure air to flow out of the drain outlet section 40 when the drain outlet section 40 is under positive pressure.

[0026] The valve body 70 comprises a main pipe body 71 having an inclined surface portion 71c on its lower end, a valve member 72 fitted in close contact with the inclined surface portion 71c of the main pipe body 71, and a cover member 74 disposed between the inclined surface portion 71c and the valve member 72.

[0027] The main pipe body 71 has a main pipe body 71a made of a polyvinyl chloride pipe and an outer pipe 71b that is formed to be larger in diameter than the main pipe body 71a.

[0028] In this embodiment, the outer tube 71b is constructed by joining a separate annular member with an adhesive or the like. The outer tube 71b is shaped to fit inside the mounting adapter 80.

[0029] In this embodiment, a cushioning material 73 made of sponge or the like is attached to the outer surface of the main pipe body 71a near the outer pipe 71b.

[0030] At the lower end of the main pipe body 71, an inclined surface portion 71c, cut diagonally with respect to the pipe axis, and an open surface 71d surrounded by the inclined surface portion 71c are formed. At the upper end of the inclined surface portion 71c, a horizontal surface portion 71e is formed perpendicular to the pipe axis of the main pipe body 71. Above the horizontal surface portion 71e, a groove portion 71f extending from the inclined surface portion 71c is formed, bending toward the lower end of the main pipe body 71. The groove portion 71f is formed with a thickness and depth sufficient to allow one end of the valve member 72 and cover member 74, which will be described later, to be inserted and secured. The inclined surface portion 71c of the main pipe body 71 has a recess that allows the cover member 74 to be positioned flush with the surface.

[0031] The valve member 72 is made of heat-resistant synthetic resin, formed as a thin, flexible plate, and is arranged to open and close its opening surface 71d. The valve member 72 is set to be more flexible than the cover member 74.

[0032] The valve member 72 is formed from a main body portion 72a that adheres closely to the inclined surface portion 71c of the main pipe body 71 and closes the opening surface 71d, and a folded portion 72b at one end of the main body portion 72a that can be inserted into a groove portion 71f formed in the main pipe body 71.

[0033] The folded portion 72b has a bent portion 72c that is bent in a roughly V-shape. The folded portion 72b is formed by folding back one end of the valve member 72, creating a double layer, and the free end portion including the bent portion 72c is exposed from the groove portion 71f.

[0034] The valve member 72 inserted into the groove 71f is bent at the boundary between the main body 72a and the folded portion 72b, and the movement of the valve member 72 is further restricted by the deflection of the bent portion 72c, thereby enabling the opening surface 71d to be opened and closed.

[0035] The main body portion 72a has holes 72d that penetrate in the thickness direction, allowing positive pressure air from the outlet portion 70b side (described later) to pass through when the valve member 72 opens its opening surface 71d. In this embodiment, three holes 72d are formed.

[0036] The covering member 74 is formed to cover a portion of the opening surface 71d and is joined to the opening surface 71d with an adhesive or the like. The covering member 74 is formed to cover the hole 72d. The covering member 74 is made of a material that is less flexible than the valve member 72 and is formed to be less prone to bending.

[0037] The covering member 74 is positioned between the inclined surface portion 71c and the valve member 72 so as to be able to cover the hole 72d.

[0038] In this embodiment, the valve body 70 has an inlet 70a on the side where the outer pipe 71b is located, and an outlet 70b on the side where the valve member 72 is located.

[0039] As shown in Figure 3, the mounting adapter 80 is formed from a polyvinyl chloride tubular body and has a large-diameter pipe 81 and a small-diameter pipe 82 which is smaller in diameter than the large-diameter pipe 81. The mounting adapter 80 is integrally formed by fitting the small-diameter pipe 82 into the large-diameter pipe 81.

[0040] In this embodiment, the outer surface of the small-diameter pipe 82 is provided as a mounting portion that can be fitted into the pipe portion of the drain outlet section 40.

[0041] The mounting adapter 80 is fitted and fixed to the pipe portion of the drain outlet section 40 in the large-diameter pipe 81. The main pipe body 71 of the valve body 70 is fitted into the small-diameter pipe 82 of the fitted mounting adapter 80, and the valve body 70 is attached to the mounting adapter 80.

[0042] The function and operation of the valve body 70 will now be explained. As shown in Figures 2(A) and 5(A), when there is no inflow of wastewater, even if the inside of the wastewater outlet section 40 is in a positive pressure state, the valve member 72 covers the opening surface 71d, and the hole 72d of the valve member 72 is covered by the covering member 74, preventing wastewater from escaping to the wastewater inflow section.

[0043] Furthermore, as shown in Figures 2(B) and 5(B), when wastewater flows in from the inlet 70a and the valve member 72 bends to open the opening surface 71d, the positive pressure air generated due to a blockage in the pipe on the outlet side 70b passes through the hole 72d, allowing the positive pressure air in the downstream outlet pipe at the time of wastewater inflow to escape to the inlet side.

[0044] From the above, it can be said that the valve body 70 has a ventilation function only when draining.

[0045] The valve body 70 of this embodiment is a drain valve body comprising a cylindrical main pipe body 71 as a tubular body and a thin plate-shaped, flexible valve member 72, One end is designated as an inlet 70a into which wastewater flows, and the other end is designated as an outlet 70b into which wastewater flows out. One end of the main pipe body 71 is detachably attached to the drain manhole 10, which serves as a mounting body to which the valve body 70 is attached. On the other end face of the main pipe body 71, an inclined surface portion 71c cut diagonally with respect to the pipe axis and an open surface 71d surrounded by the inclined surface portion 71c are formed. The valve member 72 is arranged so as to be able to open and close the opening surface 71d, and a through portion 72d is provided in the thickness direction. Between the inclined surface portion 71c and the valve member 72, a covering member 74 is disposed so as to cover the hole 72d. When wastewater flows in from the inlet 70a of the main pipe body 71 and the valve member 72 opens its opening surface 71d, the positive pressure atmosphere on the outlet side 70b is allowed to pass through the hole 72d.

[0046] According to this design, it can be installed in a horizontal piping system, and the positive pressure in the downstream outlet pipe when wastewater flows in can be released towards the inlet section 70a.

[0047] Furthermore, the mounting body is a drain manhole 10 for horizontal piping. The valve member 72 is arranged such that its base end is on the upper side and its free end is on the lower side. The hole 72d is located in the region on the base end side of the valve member 72. The covering member 74 is positioned on the base end side of the valve member 72.

[0048] According to this, drainage can flow downwards and positive pressure can be released upwards, making it a suitable drainage valve for a horizontal drainage manhole 10.

[0049] Furthermore, since the drainage system design standards stipulate that the wastewater flowing into the drainpipe is in the lower half of the drainpipe, the valve body 70 of the present invention is configured accordingly to prevent the hole 72d from being blocked by the wastewater flowing in from the inlet 70a.

[0050] Furthermore, the covering member 74 is fixed to the inclined surface portion 71c.

[0051] According to this, the pressure of the positive atmospheric pressure applied from the outlet 70b side causes the cover member 74 to move towards the inlet 70a side, opening the hole 72d and preventing the check valve effect from being impaired.

[0052] Furthermore, the valve member 72 is more flexible than the cover member 74.

[0053] According to this, by making the valve member 72 more flexible than the cover member 74, drainage can enter between the valve member 72 and the cover member 74, preventing the valve member 72 and the cover member 74 from being in close contact and preventing the positive pressure atmosphere on the outlet side 70b from passing through the hole 72d. Note that "high flexibility" refers to a state in which there is little resistance to bending and it deforms flexibly.

[0054] A second embodiment of the present invention will now be described. In the following description, components corresponding to those in the first embodiment will be denoted by the same reference numerals, and their descriptions will be omitted in whole or in part.

[0055] In the valve body 70H shown in Figures 10 and 11, a relief portion 75H is provided on the cover member 74H, extending from the lower end (free end side) of the valve member 72H to the upper end (base end side) of the valve member 72H.

[0056] The portion of the valve member 72H corresponding to the relief portion 75H does not have a hole 72Hd. Furthermore, the bent portion 72Hc contacts only the area around the relief portion 75H of the main body portion 72Ha, thereby restricting the movement of the valve member 72H.

[0057] According to this, for example, if there is a large amount of wastewater flowing in from the inlet 70a, it is possible to prevent water from entering between the valve member 72H and the cover member 74H, which would prevent the release of positive pressure air from the hole 72Hd. Furthermore, the relief section 75H allows air and wastewater to pass through and support the opening of the valve member 72H.

[0058] Other uses of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. In the following description, configurations corresponding to the first embodiment and configurations described earlier will be denoted by letters of the same reference numerals, and all or part of their description will be omitted.

[0059] As shown in Figure 6, the drain outlet section 40A can be formed to be inclined, and the valve body 70 can also be positioned at an angle. In this case, since the valve body 70 and the mounting adapter 80 can be attached and detached as a single unit, it becomes possible to comply with the HACCP system and eliminate the accumulation of dirt.

[0060] Furthermore, as shown in Figure 7(B), a valve body 70 can be installed in the drainage outlet section 40B of the underground, pipe-introduced type grease trap 10B. In this case, the existing trap section 50B shown in Figure 7(A) will be removed and the valve body 70 will be installed. From the viewpoint of minimizing oil leakage, it is desirable to remove the lid member 51B and reinstall the trap section 50B with its top open.

[0061] Furthermore, as shown in Figure 8(B), the valve body 70 can be installed in the underground, side-ditch type grease trap 10C. In this case, the existing trap section 50C shown in Figure 8(A) is removed and the valve body 70 is installed. Compared to the case shown in Figure 7, the space for the outflow enclosure is narrower, so reinstallation of the trap section 50C is unnecessary.

[0062] To further explain the effects of the present invention, in addition to the above embodiments, the valve body 70 can also be installed in a drainage manhole 10D that is buried underground and introduced into a side ditch, as shown in Figure 9(A). In this case, the trap water seal area is eliminated, the vertical size of the drainage manhole 10D can be reduced, and it can be made more compact. Furthermore, siphoning can be prevented and the flow of drainage can be improved.

[0063] Furthermore, a valve body 70 can be installed in a floor-drain type, lateral drainage grease trap 10E, as shown in Figure 9(B). In this case, the entire trap section 50E or the lid 51E can be eliminated, thus reducing the vertical size of the grease trap 10E and making it more compact.

[0064] In the above-described embodiment of use, it is also possible to apply valve body 70H instead of valve body 70.

[0065] The drain valve body of the present invention is not limited to the above configuration. That is, various design modifications are possible as long as they do not depart from the spirit of the present invention.

[0066] For example, it can be applied not only to drainage pits but also to all types of grease traps that separate water from other substances, such as oil traps.

[0067] Furthermore, the valve member 72 can be attached to the main pipe body 71 by screw fastening, heat welding, or the like.

[0068] Furthermore, although the valve member 72 is made of a heat-resistant synthetic resin, it can be made of other materials such as elastomers, metals, etc., as long as they are flexible.

[0069] The main body 30 is made of fiber-reinforced plastic, but it can be made of other materials such as elastomers or metals like stainless steel, as long as it does not impair its function.

[0070] Furthermore, although the cushioning material 73 is made of sponge or the like, other materials such as O-rings can be used as long as they do not impair its function.

[0071] Furthermore, a configuration can be created without the bent portions 72c and 72Hc. [Explanation of symbols]
