Description

TECHNICAL FIELD

[0001] The present invention relates to an oil-in-water emulsified sunscreen cosmetic or water-based cosmetic with high ultraviolet shielding effect, which contains surface-hydrophobized fine particulate metal oxide, dialkyl sulfosuccinate and film-forming polymer emulsion, and a method for producing the same. BACKGROUND ART

[0002] Conventionally, when stably dispersing an inorganic powder in water or an aqueous medium, a hydrophilic powder or a hydrophilized powder has been used. On the other hand, when blending a hydrophobized powder into water or an aqueous medium, a large amount of an ionic surfactant such as alkyl phosphate, polyoxyethylene adduct alkyl ether phosphate, lecithin or the like is used as a dispersant, or a natural product-derived surfactant (see Patent Document 1) is used for dispersion in water. Further, as a method for improving the dispersibility of powder in water, a method of subjecting the powder to hydrophilic treatment, for example, the techniques disclosed in Patent Documents 2 to 4 can be mentioned. Patent Documents 2 and 3 disclose techniques relating to coating treatment of a water-soluble cationic polymer and a low-molecular organosilicon derivative, and Patent Document 4 discloses a technique of surface-treating a polyether-modified silane, respectively. When such a hydrophilic powder is used, it can be easily added to an aqueous composition, and the blending amount can be increased, so that there is an advantage that the characteristics of the powder are easily exhibited.

[0003] However, since the powder itself is hydrophilic, there is a problem that it is difficult to obtain a coating film having sufficient water resistance as an aqueous inorganic powder dispersion. In addition, when a large amount of the above-described dispersant is blended as a method of blending the hydrophobized powder into water or an aqueous medium, it is similarly difficult to obtain a coating film having sufficient water resistance.

[0004] On the other hand, oil-in-water (O / W) emulsion formulations and water-based formulations, because their main component is water-based, provide a light feel, but it is difficult to obtain a coating with sufficient water resistance, and they have the problem of easily breaking down with sweat and water. In response to this, a method has been proposed to use film-forming polymer emulsions to improve the water resistance of makeup cosmetics made with oil-in-water (O / W) emulsion formulations and water-based formulations and to improve the durability of the makeup (Patent Documents 5-7). However, when a film-forming polymer emulsion is incorporated to impart water resistance to oil-in-water or water-based sunscreen cosmetics whose main component is a metal oxide UV scattering agent, there is a problem of poor compatibility with the metal oxide UV scattering agent, resulting in powder aggregation, sedimentation, etc. [Prior art documents] [Patent Documents]

[0005] [Patent Document 1] Japanese Patent Publication No. 2013-116864 [Patent Document 2] Patent No. 4250551 [Patent Document 3] Patent No. 4475970 [Patent Document 4] Japanese Patent Publication No. 2003-26958 [Patent Document 5] Japanese Patent Publication No. 2005-314372 [Patent Document 6] Japanese Patent Publication No. 2017-114803 [Patent Document 7] Japanese Patent Publication No. 2020-70259 [Overview of the project] [Problems that the invention aims to solve]

[0006] The present invention has been made in view of the above circumstances, and aims to provide a sunscreen cosmetic and a method for producing the same, which have high water resistance, a refreshing feel, excellent storage stability over time without powder aggregation or sedimentation, and high ultraviolet shielding effect, by using a combination of surface hydrophobized fine particle metal oxide, dialkyl sulfosuccinate, and film-forming polymer emulsion. [Means for solving the problem]

[0007] To achieve the aforementioned objectives, the inventors conducted diligent research and found that by adding a dialkyl sulfosuccinate to surface-hydrophobized fine-particle metal oxides, the mixture can be easily dispersed in water or an aqueous medium. Furthermore, by using a film-forming polymer emulsion in combination, a sunscreen cosmetic can be obtained that has high water resistance, a refreshing feel, no powder aggregation or sedimentation, excellent storage stability over time, and high UV protection effect. This led to the completion of the present invention.

[0008] In other words, the sunscreen cosmetic composition according to the present invention is characterized by containing the following components (A), (B), and (C). (A) Surface hydrophobized fine metal oxide particles (B) Dialkyl sulfosuccinate (C) Film-forming polymer emulsion

[0009] Furthermore, the present invention provides a method for producing a sunscreen cosmetic, characterized by using component (B) dialkyl sulfosuccinate as a dispersant, dispersing surface-hydrophobized fine-particle metal oxide of component (A) in water or an aqueous medium containing a water-soluble component, and mixing this dispersion with a film-forming polymer emulsion of component (C) and, if necessary, other cosmetic components to produce a sunscreen cosmetic. [Effects of the Invention]

[0010] The sunscreen cosmetic of the present invention has high water resistance, is non-sticky and non-greasy, has a fresh and refreshing feel, does not exhibit powder aggregation or sedimentation, has excellent storage stability over time, and provides high UV protection. [Brief explanation of the drawing]

[0011] [Figure 1] This graph compares the UV protection effect of Examples 1 and 2 with that of Comparative Example 3. [Modes for carrying out the invention]

[0012] Next, specific embodiments of the sunscreen cosmetic and its manufacturing method according to the present invention will be described.

[0013] The fine particle metal oxide in component (A) of the present invention is preferably one or more selected from the group consisting of fine particle zinc oxide, fine particle titanium oxide, fine particle cerium oxide, fine particle iron oxide, and fine particle chromium oxide, from the viewpoint of improving the ultraviolet protection effect, more preferably one or more selected from the group consisting of fine particle zinc oxide, fine particle titanium oxide, and fine particle cerium oxide, and even more preferably one or more selected from the group consisting of fine particle zinc oxide and fine particle titanium oxide. Two or more of these fine particle metal oxides may be used in combination.

[0014] The fine metal oxide in component (A) of the present invention may be a composite powder in which the surface is coated with another inorganic material. In this case, the surface treatment material may be a known inorganic surface treatment material, such as zinc oxide, titanium oxide, cerium oxide, iron oxide, barium sulfate, hydrated silica, silica, aluminum hydroxide, and alumina. The amount of coating is preferably 1% to 25% by mass relative to the fine metal oxide.

[0015] The fine particle metal oxide preferably has an average particle size (hereinafter, when simply referred to as "particle size" in the present specification, it means the average particle size) of 1 to 200 nm, more preferably 1 to 100 nm. The ultraviolet shielding particles having such a particle size are particularly preferable in that they have high visible light transparency and suitable ultraviolet shielding ability. The particle size of the inorganic powder is measured by a method of measuring the particle sizes of 200 randomly selected particles with an electron microscope and calculating the average of the primary particle sizes thereof.

[0016] The method for subjecting the fine particle metal oxide in component (A) of the present invention to surface hydrophobization treatment is not particularly limited, and a known method can be used. The surface hydrophobization treatment is a treatment that reduces the affinity of the surface of the fine particle metal oxide for water, and a surface treatment with a material that is easily soluble in water or a material that disperses in water after the treatment does not fall under the "surface hydrophobization treatment" of the present invention.

[0017] More specific examples of the above surface hydrophobization treatment include treatment with surface treatment agents such as silicone oils, fatty acids, and alkylsilanes. These surface treatments may be performed alone or in combination. Examples of the silicone oils include so-called straight silicone oils such as dimethylpolysiloxane, methylphenylpolysiloxane, and methylhydrogenpolysiloxane, as well as so-called branched silicone oils such as triethoxysilylethyl polydimethylsiloxyethyl dimethicone. Examples of the fatty acids include stearic acid, isostearic acid, lauric acid, myristic acid, and palmitic acid. Examples of the alkylsilanes include alkoxysilanes such as methyltrimethoxysilane, dimethyldimethoxysilane, phenyltrimethoxysilane, methyltriethoxysilane, dimethyldiethoxysilane, phenyltriethoxysilane, n-propyltrimethoxysilane, n-propyltriethoxysilane, hexyltrimethoxysilane, hexyltriethoxysilane, octyltriethoxysilane, and decyltrimethoxysilane, as well as silazanes such as hexamethyldisilazane. Among these, it is preferable to use at least one selected from the group consisting of dimethylpolysiloxane, methylhydrogenpolysiloxane, stearic acid, isostearic acid, and octyltriethoxysilane as the surface treatment agent, from the viewpoint of enabling further improved dispersibility in water.

[0018] In the surface hydrophobization treatment of the fine particle metal oxide, it is preferable that the surface hydrophobization treatment is performed at a proportion of 1 to 15 mass%, or 2 to 12 mass%, relative to the total amount of the fine particle metal oxide after treatment. When the content is not less than the above lower limit, sufficient hydrophobicity is ensured, and when the content is not more than the above upper limit, cost benefits due to saturation of the hydrophobic effect can be obtained.

[0019] As a treatment method for obtaining the surface-hydrophobized fine particle metal oxide, the surface treatment agent is dissolved or dispersed in a suitable organic solvent, the resulting mixture is stirred and mixed with the target powder, and then the organic solvent is removed, whereby the surface-hydrophobized fine particle metal oxide can be obtained. Examples of the organic solvent used herein include alcohols such as ethanol, isopropyl alcohol and isobutanol, hydrocarbon-based organic solvents such as toluene, n-hexane and cyclohexane, and polar organic solvents such as acetone, ethyl acetate and butyl acetate.

[0020] The blending amount of Component (A) in the sunscreen cosmetic of the present invention is preferably 5 to 50 mass%.

[0021] The dialkyl sulfosuccinate, which is component (B) in the sunscreen cosmetic of the present invention, is an anionic surfactant obtained by reacting a linear or branched alcohol having 6 to 22 carbon atoms with maleic anhydride to form a diester, and then sulfating it. Examples of alcohols that can be used include hexanol, octanol, decanol, lauryl alcohol, myristyl alcohol, cetyl alcohol, stearyl alcohol, oleyl alcohol, 2-ethylhexanol, and 2-methyldodecanol. Examples of salts of the dialkyl sulfosuccinate include alkali metals such as sodium and potassium; lower alkanolamines such as monoethanolamine, diethanolamine, and triethanolamine; and ammonia, among which sodium salts are preferred.

[0022] Specific examples of dialkyl sulfosuccinates include, for example, sodium dihexyl sulfosuccinate, sodium di-2-ethylhexyl sulfosuccinate, and sodium dilauryl sulfosuccinate.

[0023] The amount of component (B) in the sunscreen cosmetic of the present invention is appropriately set in order to disperse the surface-hydrophobized fine metal oxide particles, which are component (A), in the sunscreen cosmetic of the present invention. For example, it is 0.5% by mass or more and 10% by mass or less, and preferably 1.5% by mass or more and 5% by mass or less. If it is less than 0.5% by mass, the dispersibility of the surface-hydrophobized inorganic powder in water may be poor, and if it exceeds 10% by mass, when the aqueous dispersion is incorporated into the sunscreen cosmetic, the feel of the sunscreen cosmetic may become heavy.

[0024] The sunscreen cosmetic of the present invention may be prepared by first dispersing a dispersion of surface-hydrophobized fine-particle metal oxide of component (A) in water or an aqueous medium containing a water-soluble component, using component (B) dialkyl sulfosuccinate as a dispersant, and mixing this dispersion with a film-forming polymer emulsion of component (C) and, if necessary, other cosmetic components.

[0025] Any known method capable of uniform dispersion is acceptable for obtaining the above-mentioned dispersion. Various dispersers such as wet bead mills, homomixers, dispersers, kneaders, kneading extruders, and roll mills can be used, but wet bead mills are more preferred.

[0026] The film-forming polymer emulsion, which is component (C) in the sunscreen cosmetic of the present invention, includes alkyl acrylate copolymer emulsions, alkyl acrylate-styrene copolymer emulsions, alkyl acrylate-vinyl acetate copolymer emulsions, urethane resin emulsions, and the like. Alkyl acrylate as used herein also includes alkyl methacrylate. The film-forming polymer emulsion can be used with water as the medium and with a solid content concentration of 30-60% by mass, thereby enhancing the sunscreen effect.

[0027] Component (C) can be a commercially available product. Examples of alkyl acrylate copolymer emulsions include Yodozol GH800F (manufactured by AkzoNobel, solid content concentration 45% by mass), Yodozol GH810F (manufactured by AkzoNobel, solid content concentration 46% by mass), Yodozol GH34F (manufactured by AkzoNobel, solid content concentration 42% by mass), Daitozol 5000SJ (manufactured by Daito Chemical Industries, solid content concentration 50% by mass), and ARON AC-1000 (manufactured by Nikko Chemicals, solid content concentration 40% by mass). Examples of alkyl acrylate / styrene copolymer emulsions include Yodozol GH41F (manufactured by AkzoNobel, solid content concentration 45% by mass), Daitozol 5000STY (manufactured by Daito Chemical Industries, solid content concentration 50% by mass), and Emapoly CE-119N (distributed by Nikko Chemicals). Examples of alkyl acrylate / vinyl acetate copolymer emulsions include Vinizol 2140L (manufactured by Daido Chemical Industries, Ltd., solids content 45% by mass). Examples of urethane resin emulsions include BAYCUSAN C1000 (manufactured by Bayer MaterialScience AG, solids content 40% by mass) and BAYCUSAN C1004 (manufactured by Bayer MaterialScience AG, solids content 40% by mass).

[0028] The amount of component (C) in the sunscreen cosmetic of the present invention is preferably 0.5% to 10% by mass. Below 0.5% by mass, sufficient water resistance cannot be obtained, and above 10% by mass, the sunscreen cosmetic may become too thick, which is undesirable.

[0029] The sunscreen cosmetic obtained in this manner can stably disperse surface-hydrophobically treated fine metal oxide particles in an aqueous composition. This makes it possible to obtain an aqueous composition with stable UV protection performance. Furthermore, surface-hydrophobically treated fine metal oxide particles can also be dispersed in the aqueous phase in an oil-in-water emulsion cosmetic. Such a special form of cosmetic is preferable because it can provide a different feel from conventional cosmetics in which powder is dispersed in an oil phase.

[0030] The sunscreen cosmetic of the present invention can be provided not only as a sunscreen cream, sunscreen lotion, or sunscreen emulsion, but also as a foundation, makeup base, makeup cosmetic, hair cosmetic, etc., that provides sunscreen effects.
