Summary of Invention

Problems to be Solved by the Invention

[0004] However, when attaching the L-shaped packaging members to the four corners of the glass plates, the packaging members cannot be attached to a plurality of glass plates unless the packaging members themselves are fixed. In addition, if the L-shaped members move during insertion of the glass plates, there is a risk that the glass plates may fall off and be damaged.

[0005] The present invention has been made in view of the above-described current problems, and an object of the present invention is to provide a packaging jig capable of fixing the L-shaped members and the binding members for packaging at the time of inserting the glass plates, and a method for manufacturing a glass plate package using the packaging jig.

Means for Solving the Problems

[0006] The problems that this invention aims to solve are as described above, and the means for solving these problems will now be explained.

[0007] That is, the packaging jig according to embodiment 1 of the present invention is a packaging jig used when packaging a plurality of glass plates arranged in parallel with spacing between them in a vertical position, wherein the glass plates are rectangular in shape, the packaging member comprises a corner retaining member having corner retaining grooves formed to hold each of the four corners of the glass plate, and a binding member that is attached to surround the corner retaining member, the corner retaining member comprises two lower corner retaining members that hold each of the two lower corners of the glass plate, and one or two upper corner retaining members that hold the two upper corners of the glass plate, the packaging jig comprises a base member that holds the lower corner retaining member, the base member comprises a bottom surface retaining portion that holds the bottom surface of the lower corner retaining member, and a regulating portion that regulates the position of the two lower corner retaining members in the lateral width direction of the glass plate. With this configuration, the packaging jig according to the present invention allows packaging while the lower corner holding member is held by the base member, preventing the lower corner holding member from moving during insertion of the glass plate and causing damage to the glass plate.

[0008] Furthermore, in the packaging jig according to embodiment 2 of the present invention, in embodiment 1, the restricting portion preferably includes a first restricting portion that holds the side surface of one of the lower corner retaining members and a second restricting portion that holds the side surface of the other lower corner retaining member, wherein the distance between the first restricting portion and the second restricting portion can be changed. This configuration allows the distance between the two lower corner retaining members to be changed by altering the distance between the regulating parts. This makes it possible to perform the packaging work using the same packaging jig even when the size of the glass plate is changed.

[0009] Furthermore, in the packaging jig according to embodiment 3 of the present invention, in embodiment 1 or 2 above, it is preferable that the bottom surface holding portion is provided with a binding member receiving groove for accommodating the binding member. With this configuration, by pre-storing the fastening member in the groove of the bottom holding portion, the corners of the glass plate can be held in place by the corner holding member, and then quickly secured using the fastening member.

[0010] Furthermore, in any of the embodiments of embodiments 1 to 3 described above, the packaging jig according to embodiment 4 of the present invention further comprises a guide member having a side-edge holding groove for holding the side edges of a plurality of glass plates, and it is preferable that the guide member is attached to the restricting portion. By having such a configuration, and by providing guide members that hold the sides of the glass plate, it is possible to prevent the inserted glass plate from bending and coming into contact with the adjacent glass plate, thereby preventing scratches from forming.

[0011] Furthermore, in the packaging jig according to embodiment 5 of the present invention, in embodiment 4 above, a mark is formed on one of the upper corners of the plurality of glass plates, and the guide member comprises a first guide member that holds the side corresponding to the upper corner on which the mark is provided, and a second guide member that holds the side corresponding to the other upper corner, wherein the first guide member is preferably configured so that its upper end can be folded back in a direction away from the side. With this configuration, the markings provided on the glass plate are formed to align the orientation of the glass plate. By bending the upper end of the guide member outward, the markings on the glass plate can be exposed even when they are contained within the groove of the guide member, allowing confirmation that the orientation of the glass plate is correct.

[0012] Furthermore, in the packaging jig according to embodiment 6 of the present invention, in embodiment 4 above, it is preferable that the upper end of the guide member is at the same height as the upper end of the glass plate, or higher than the upper end of the glass plate. This configuration allows for the insertion of a glass plate without contacting an already inserted glass plate, thus preventing damage from occurring due to contact between the two.

[0013] Furthermore, a method for manufacturing a glass plate packaging body according to aspect 7 of the present invention is a method for manufacturing a glass plate packaging body in which a plurality of glass plates are arranged in parallel with spacing between them in a vertical position, using a packaging jig according to any of the above aspects 1 to 6, and are packaged with the packaging member, comprising: a binding member placement step of placing the binding member on the bottom surface holding portion; a lower corner holding member placement step of placing the lower corner holding member on the bottom surface holding portion via the binding member; a glass plate insertion step of inserting the glass plate into the corner holding groove and holding it with the lower corner holding member; an upper corner holding step of holding the upper corner of the glass plate with the upper corner holding member; and a binding step of fixing the corner holding member with the binding member. With this configuration, the method for manufacturing a glass plate package using the packaging jig according to the present invention allows the lower corner holding member to be held by the base member during packaging, thereby preventing the glass plate from being damaged.

[0014] Furthermore, in the embodiment 7 described above, the method for manufacturing a glass plate packaging body according to embodiment 8 of the present invention further comprises a guide member having a side edge holding groove formed therein for holding the side edges of a plurality of glass plates, a guide attachment step of attaching the guide member to the restricting portion before the glass plate insertion step, and a guide removal step of removing the guide member from the restricting portion after the glass plate insertion step, the glass plate insertion step of inserting the glass plate along the side edge holding groove, the guide removal step comprises a first guide removal step of removing one of the guide members and a second guide removal step of removing the other of the guide members, and the upper corner holding step preferably comprises a first upper corner holding step of attaching the corner holding member corresponding to the guide member removed in the first guide removal step, after the first guide removal step and before the second guide removal step, and a second upper corner holding step of attaching the upper corner holding member corresponding to the guide member removed in the second guide removal step, after the second guide removal step. With this configuration, by removing the guide member and attaching the upper corner retaining member one side at a time, it is possible to prevent the upper part of the glass plate from bending and coming into contact with the adjacent glass plate, thus preventing scratches from forming on the glass plate.

[0015] Furthermore, in the method for manufacturing a glass plate packaging body according to embodiment 9 of the present invention, in embodiment 7 or 8 above, the packaging jig further comprises a guide member having a side-edge holding groove formed therein for holding the side edges of a plurality of glass plates, each of the plurality of glass plates having a mark formed on one of the upper corners, the guide member comprising a first guide member that holds the side edge corresponding to the upper corner on which the mark is provided, and a second guide member that holds the side edge corresponding to the other upper corner, the first guide member being configured to be foldable at its upper end away from the side edge, the method comprising a guide attachment step of attaching the guide member to the restricting portion before the glass plate insertion step, and the method of folding the upper end of the first guide member away from the side edge after the glass plate insertion step The process further comprises a mark confirmation step of folding the upper corner back in the direction away from the upper corner and confirming the mark provided on the upper corner, and a guide removal step of removing the guide member from the restricting portion after the mark confirmation step, wherein the guide removal step comprises a first guide removal step of removing the first guide member and a second guide removal step of removing the second guide member, wherein the upper corner holding step comprises a first upper corner holding step of holding the upper corner on which the mark is provided with the corner holding member and a second upper corner holding step of holding the upper corner on which the mark is not provided with the upper corner holding member, and it is preferable that the first upper corner holding step is performed after the first guide removal step and before the second guide removal step. With this configuration, the markings on the glass plate are formed to align the orientation of the glass plate. By bending the upper end of the guide member outward, the markings on the glass plate can be exposed even when they are contained within the groove of the guide member, allowing confirmation that the orientation of the glass plate is correct. Furthermore, the upper part of the guide member, which has been bent to check the markings, can be removed without having to return it to its original position, improving work efficiency. [Effects of the Invention]

[0016] The present invention achieves the following effects as its advantageous effects. That is, according to the packing jig of the present invention and the method for manufacturing a glass plate packed body using the packing jig, the L-shaped member for packing and the binding member can be fixed at the time of inserting the glass plate, so that the situation where the glass plate is broken can be prevented. [Modes for Carrying Out the Invention]

[0018] Next, one embodiment of the present invention will be described using Figures 1 to 9. In Figure 1, the directions of the arrows define and explain the front-to-back, left-to-right, and up-to-down directions of the glass plate packaging body 1. In Figures 2 to 8, the directions of the arrows define and explain the front-to-back, left-to-right, and up-to-down directions of the glass plate packaging body 1, packaging member 2, and packaging jig 20.

[0019] [Overall structure of glass plate packaging 1] First, the overall structure of the glass plate packaging body 1, packaged using the packaging jig 20 that embodies the present invention, will be explained with reference to Figure 1.

[0020] Glass plate packaging 1 is a glass plate G, which is an example of a glass product, packaged with packaging material 2. The glass plate G is a plate-shaped component used as a glass substrate or cover glass for displays, a core substrate or interposer for package substrates, a cover glass for solar cells, etc., and is rectangular in shape.

[0021] The packaging member 2 comprises a corner retaining member 11 having corner retaining grooves 11a (see Figure 7) formed therein for holding each of the four corners Ga of the glass plate G, and a binding member 12 that is attached to surround the corner retaining member 11.

[0022] The corner retaining member 11 comprises a lower corner retaining member 11L that holds the two lower corners Ga of the glass plate G, and an upper corner retaining member 11U that holds the two upper corners Ga of the glass plate G. The lower corner retaining member 11L and the upper corner retaining member 11U are formed in an L-shape when viewed from the front, and are formed at right angles to the four corners Ga of the glass plate G. As shown in Figure 7, multiple corner retaining grooves 11a are formed on the inside of the lower corner retaining member 11L and the upper corner retaining member 11U. Multiple corner retaining grooves 11a are provided in the front-to-back direction, and the thickness of each groove in the front-to-back direction is formed to match the thickness of the glass plate G. The corner retaining member 11 is made of a foamed resin such as foamed polyethylene or foamed polystyrene. This makes it difficult for vibrations and shocks to be transmitted to the glass plate even when the glass plate packaging is subjected to vibrations or shocks during transportation or storage, thereby preventing damage to the glass plate.

[0023] The binding members 12 are made of a resin such as nylon, and are made of a material with excellent durability and flexibility. Multiple binding members 12 are used and are arranged in parallel in the front-to-back direction to bind the glass plates. Multiple binding members 12 are wrapped around the outer circumference of the lower corner retaining members 11L and the upper corner retaining members 11U. By bonding one end of the binding members 12 to the other end, the lower corner retaining members 11L and the upper corner retaining members 11U, which are provided at the four corners Ga of the glass plate G, are fixed, and multiple glass plates G are packaged so that they cannot be moved. The outer circumferential surface of the corner retaining member 11 may have grooves formed therein for accommodating and guiding the fastening member 12.

[0024] [Overall configuration of packaging jig 20] Next, the packaging jig 20 will be explained using Figures 2 to 8. The packaging jig 20 is a device used when packaging multiple glass plates G in a vertical position, with spacing between them, using the packaging material 2. As shown in Figures 2 and 6, the packaging jig 20 comprises a base member 21 that holds the lower corner holding member 11L, a guide member 22 having a side edge holding groove 22a that holds the side edges Gb of a plurality of glass plates G, and a frame 23 that fixes the base member 21 and the guide member 22.

[0025] As shown in Figures 2 to 4, the base member 21 includes a bottom surface holding portion 26 that holds the bottom surface of the lower corner holding member 11L, and a side surface holding portion 27 that holds the sides of the two lower corner holding members 11L and is an example of a regulating portion to which the guide member 22 is attached. The bottom surface holding portion 26 is a base placed on the ground and is provided at the lower end of the frame 23. Multiple holes (not shown) are provided on the upper surface of the bottom surface holding portion 26, and the side surface holding portion 27 can be fixed to the bottom surface holding portion 26 by inserting fixing members into the holes. Furthermore, a binding member accommodating groove 26a for accommodating the binding member 12 is formed on the upper surface of the bottom holding portion 26. In this embodiment, there are two binding member accommodating grooves 26a, but there may be one or three or more.

[0026] The side retaining portion 27 is a restricting portion that restricts the lateral position of the glass plate G of the two lower corner retaining members 11L, 11L, and is an L-shaped member when viewed from the front, comprising a fixing portion 27a fixed to the bottom retaining portion 26 and two plate-shaped side contact portions 27b erected above the fixing portion 27a. Furthermore, the side retaining portion 27 includes a first side retaining portion 27A that holds the side of one lower corner retaining member 11L, and a second side retaining portion 27B that holds the side of the other lower corner retaining member 11L.

[0027] The distance between the first side retaining portion 27A and the second side retaining portion 27B can be changed. For example, by removing the fixing member from the multiple holes provided in the bottom retaining portion 26 and moving the first side retaining portion 27A, the distance between the first side retaining portion 27A and the second side retaining portion 27B can be changed.

[0028] [Manufacturing method for glass plate packaging 1 using packaging jig 20] Next, a method for manufacturing a glass plate packaging body 1, in which multiple glass plates G are arranged in parallel in a vertical position with spacing between them, and then packaged with a packaging member 2, will be explained with reference to Figure 5. Note that the frame 23 is not shown in Figures 5, 9, and 10.

[0029] First, the base member 21 is placed on the frame 23 in advance. By changing the fixing position of the first side support portion 27A on the frame 23, a pair of side support portions 27A and 27B can be positioned to match the left-right length (width) of the glass plate G.

[0030] Next, as shown in Figure 5(A), a binding member placement step S10 is performed in which the binding members 12 are placed in the binding member accommodating groove 26a provided in the bottom surface holding portion 26. Two binding members 12 are arranged in parallel in the binding member accommodating groove 26a provided in the bottom surface holding portion 26.

[0031] Next, as shown in Figure 5(B), a lower corner retaining member placement step S20 is performed, in which the lower corner retaining members 11L-11L are placed on the bottom retaining portion 26 via the binding member 12. The lower corner retaining members 11L-11L are positioned on the upper surface of the bottom retaining portion 26, and the movement of the upright portions of the lower corner retaining members 11L-11L is restricted by the side contact portions 27b of the first side retaining portion 27A and the second side retaining portion 27B.

[0032] Next, as shown in Figure 5(C), a glass plate insertion step S40 is performed in which the glass plate G is inserted into the corner retaining groove 11a and held by the lower corner retaining members 11L, 11L, and an upper corner retaining step S50 is performed in which the upper corner Ga of the glass plate G is held by the upper corner retaining members 11U, 11U. In the upper corner retaining step S50, one upper corner retaining member 11U is attached first, and then the other upper corner retaining member 11U is attached. That is, one corner Ga and its surrounding side and top edge are fixed by being clamped in the corner retaining groove 11a, and then the other upper corner Ga of the glass plate G and its surrounding side and top edge are fixed by being clamped in the corner retaining groove 11a.

[0033] Next, as shown in Figure 5(D), a binding process S70 is performed to fix the lower corner retaining member 11L and the upper corner retaining member 11U with a binding member 12. That is, the binding member 12, which was placed in the binding member housing groove 26a provided in the bottom surface retaining part 26, is wrapped around the lower corner retaining members 11L and 11L and the upper corner retaining members 11U and 11U and the ends are bonded together to fix the lower corner retaining member 11L and the upper corner retaining member 11U.

[0034] [Configuration of guide member 22] As shown in Figures 6 to 8, the guide member 22 is a rectangular plate material with side retaining grooves 22a formed therein. The same number of side retaining grooves 22a are formed as the number of corner retaining grooves 11a, and are positioned in the front-rear direction in a manner corresponding to the corner retaining grooves 11a. In addition, a connecting portion 22b is provided at the lower end of the guide member 22 for connecting to the upper end of the side retaining portion 27. The connecting portion 22b has a groove with the same width as the plate thickness of the side contact portion 27b of the side retaining portion 27, and the guide member 22 can be connected to the side retaining portion 27 by fitting the groove into the upper end of the side contact portion 27b.

[0035] The guide member 22 comprises a first guide member 22A connected to the upper end of the first side retaining portion 27A, and a second guide member 22B connected to the upper end of the second side retaining portion 27B.

[0036] [Manufacturing method for glass plate packaging 1 using a packaging jig 20 equipped with a guide member 22] Next, a method for manufacturing a glass plate packaging body 1, in which multiple glass plates G are arranged in parallel in a vertical position with spacing between them, using a packaging jig 20 and packaged with a packaging member 2, will be explained with reference to Figure 9.

[0037] First, the base member 21 is placed on the frame 23 in advance. By changing the fixing position of the first side support portion 27A on the frame 23, a pair of side support portions 27A and 27B can be positioned to match the length of the glass plate G in the left-right direction.

[0038] Next, as shown in Figure 9(A), a binding member placement step S10 is performed in which the binding members 12 are placed in the binding member accommodating groove 26a provided in the bottom surface holding portion 26. Two binding members 12 are arranged in parallel in the binding member accommodating groove 26a provided in the bottom surface holding portion 26.

[0039] Next, as shown in Figure 9(B), a lower corner retaining member placement step S20 is performed, in which the lower corner retaining members 11L-11L are placed on the bottom retaining portion 26 via the binding member 12. The lower corner retaining members 11L-11L are positioned on the upper surface of the bottom retaining portion, and the movement of the upright portions of the lower corner retaining members 11L-11L is restricted by the side contact portions 27b of the first side retaining portion 27A and the second side retaining portion 27B.

[0040] Next, as shown in Figure 9(C), a guide mounting step S30 is performed in which the guide member 22 is attached to the first side retaining portion 27A and the second side retaining portion 27B. The connection portion 22b at the lower end of the guide member 22 is fitted to the upper end of the side contact portion 27b, thereby connecting the guide member 22 to the first side retaining portion 27A and the second side retaining portion 27B.

[0041] Next, as shown in Figure 9(D), a glass plate insertion step S40 is performed in which the glass plate G is held by the lower corner holding members 11L, 11L along the side holding groove 22a of the guide member 22. The glass plate G is inserted downward from above the guide member 22 along the side holding groove of the guide member 22 and is held by the lower corner holding members 11L, 11L while being held between the corner holding grooves 11a provided on the lower corner holding members 11L, 11L.

[0042] In this configuration, the upper end of the guide member 22 is at the same height as the upper end of the glass plate G. However, the upper end of the guide member 22 may be higher than the upper end of the glass plate G. This configuration prevents the upper end of the glass plate G from protruding from the guide member 22, allowing the glass plate G to be inserted without contacting any already inserted glass plates G, thus preventing damage from being formed.

[0043] When inserting the glass plate G into the corner retaining groove 11a provided in the lower corner retaining members 11L, 11L, the side retaining portion 27 holds the lower corner retaining members 11L, 11L, thereby restricting the movement of the lower corner retaining members 11L, 11L, and ensuring that the glass plate G is securely held in the corner retaining groove 11a.

[0044] Next, as shown in Figure 9(E), a guide removal step is performed in which the guide member 22 is removed from the first side holding portion 27A and the second side holding portion 27B, and an upper corner holding step is performed in which the upper corner portion Ga of the glass plate G is held by the upper corner holding members 11U and 11U (S50).

[0045] The guide removal process and the upper corner holding process S50 are carried out in the following procedure. First, the first guide removal step S52 is performed to remove one of the guide members 22A. Next, the first upper corner holding step S53 is performed to attach the upper corner holding member 11U corresponding to the guide member 22 removed in the first guide removal step S52. That is, one corner Ga and its surrounding side and top edges are fixed by being clamped in the corner holding groove 11a. As a result, one upper corner Ga of the glass plate G is fixed by the upper corner holding member 11U.

[0046] Next, a second guide removal step S54 is performed to remove the other guide member 22. Next, following the second guide removal step S54, a second upper corner holding step S55 is performed to attach the upper corner holding member 11U corresponding to the guide member 22 removed in the second guide removal step S54. That is, the other corner Ga and its surrounding side and top edges are fixed by being clamped in the corner holding groove 11a. As a result, the other upper corner Ga of the glass plate G is fixed by the upper corner holding member 11U.

[0047] Next, as shown in Figure 9(F), a binding process S70 is performed to fix the lower corner retaining member 11L and the upper corner retaining member 11U with a binding member 12.

[0048] By performing the above steps S10 to S70, the glass plate packaging body 1 can be manufactured. By packaging the glass plate G while holding its sides with the side-edge holding grooves 22a of the guide member 22, the glass plate G can be packaged stably without falling over during the packaging process. In addition, the distance between the lower corner holding members 11L and 11L can be changed by changing the distance between the side-edge holding parts 27A and 27B. This allows the packaging work to be performed using the same packaging jig 20 even if the size of the glass plate G is changed.

[0049] Another embodiment will be described in which a marking portion is provided on a part of the glass plate G. Here, the description of a configuration common to the previously described embodiment will be omitted. In this embodiment, a notch Gd is formed as a marking on one of the upper corners Ga of the glass plate G. That is, the worker can confirm the top and bottom of the glass plate G by the presence or absence of the notch Gd. When forming a marking on the glass plate G, a punch hole may be formed, a marking may be printed, or a sticker may be attached.

[0050] [Overall structure of glass plate packaging 1] First, the overall structure of the glass plate packaging body 1, packaged using the packaging jig 20 that embodies the present invention, will be explained with reference to Figure 1.

[0051] The glass plate packaging 1 is a glass plate G, which is an example of a glass product, packaged with packaging material 2. The glass plate G is rectangular in shape, and a notch Gd is provided in the upper corner Ga. The notch Gd is formed, for example, by cutting the corner Ga along a straight line at a 45-degree angle. Furthermore, the widthwise length of the notch Gd is formed to be 5% or less of the widthwise length of the glass plate G.

[0052] The corner retaining member 11 comprises a lower corner retaining member 11L that holds the two lower corners Ga of the glass plate G, and an upper corner retaining member 11U that holds the two upper corners Ga of the glass plate G. The lower corner retaining member 11L and the upper corner retaining member 11U are formed in an L-shape when viewed from the front and are formed at right angles to the four corners Ga of the glass plate G. The corner retaining member 11 in the portion of the glass plate G with a notch Gd holds the upper and side edges that are continuous with the notch Gd.

[0053] [Guide Member Configuration] As shown in Figures 10(C) to 10(E), the first guide member 22A has an upper end portion 22c and a lower end portion 22d, and the upper end portion 22c is configured to be foldable away from the side edge Gb. That is, the upper end portion 22c and the lower end portion 22d are connected by a connecting portion 22e which is a hinge, and under normal circumstances the connecting portion 22e is fixed in a state in which the upper end portion 22c is positioned above the lower end portion 22d and is configured as a single plate, and when folding, the upper end portion 22c is folded back via the connecting portion 22e.

[0054] [Manufacturing method for glass plate packaging 1 using packaging jig 20] Next, a method for manufacturing a glass plate packaging body 1, in which multiple glass plates G are arranged in parallel in a vertical position with spacing between them, using a packaging jig 20 and packaged with a packaging member 2, will be explained with reference to Figure 10.

[0055] First, the base member 21 is placed on the frame 23 in advance. By changing the fixing position of the first side support portion 27A on the frame 23, a pair of side support portions 27A and 27B can be positioned to match the length of the glass plate G in the left-right direction.

[0056] Next, as shown in Figure 10(A), a binding member placement step S10 is performed in which the binding members 12 are placed in the binding member accommodating groove 26a provided in the bottom surface holding portion 26. Two binding members 12 are arranged in parallel in the binding member accommodating groove 26a provided in the bottom surface holding portion 26.

[0057] Next, as shown in Figure 10(B), a lower corner retaining member placement step S20 is performed, in which the lower corner retaining members 11L-11L are placed on the bottom retaining portion 26 via the binding member 12. The lower corner retaining members 11L-11L are positioned on the upper surface of the bottom retaining portion 26, and the movement of the upright portions of the lower corner retaining members 11L-11L is restricted by the side retaining portion 27A and the side contact portion 27b of the side retaining portion 27A.

[0058] Next, as shown in Figure 10(C), a guide mounting step S30 is performed in which the guide member 22 is attached to the first side retaining portion 27A and the second side retaining portion 27B. The connecting portion 22b at the lower end of the guide member 22 is fitted to the upper end of the side contact portion 27b, thereby connecting the guide member 22 to the first side retaining portion 27A and the second side retaining portion 27B.

[0059] Next, as shown in Figure 10(D), a glass plate insertion step S40 is performed in which the glass plate G is held by the lower corner retaining members 11L-11L along the side retaining groove 22a of the guide member 22. The glass plate G is inserted downward from above the guide member along the side retaining groove 22a of the guide member 22 and is held by the lower corner retaining members 11L-11L while being sandwiched between the corner retaining grooves 11a provided on the lower corner retaining members 11L-11L. When inserting the glass plate G into the corner retaining grooves 11a provided on the lower corner retaining members 11L-11L, the side retaining portion 27 holds the lower corner retaining members 11L-11L, thereby restricting the movement of the lower corner retaining members 11L-11L and ensuring that the glass plate G is securely sandwiched in the corner retaining grooves 11a.

[0060] Next, a guide removal step is performed in which the guide member 22 is removed from the first side holding portion 27A and the second side holding portion 27B, and an upper corner holding step is performed in which the upper corner portion Ga of the glass plate G is held by the upper corner holding members 11U and 11U (S50).

[0061] The guide removal process and the upper corner holding process are carried out in the following manner. First, as shown in Figure 10(E), the upper end of the first guide member 22A is folded back away from the side edge Gb, and a notch confirmation step (mark confirmation step) is performed to confirm the notch Gd provided in the upper corner Ga (S51). That is, the upper end 22c of the first guide member 22A is folded back away from the side edge Gb, so that the notch Gd is visible. If the notch Gd is present, it can be determined that the position of the glass plate G when it is packaged is normal.

[0062] Next, as shown in Figure 10(F), a first guide removal step S52 is performed to remove one of the guide members 22A.

[0063] Next, as shown in Figure 10(G), a second guide removal step S54 is performed to remove the other guide member 22.

[0064] Next, as shown in Figure 10(H), a binding process S70 is performed to fix the lower corner retaining member 11L and the upper corner retaining member 11U with a binding member 12.

[0065] By performing the above steps S10 to S70, the glass plate packaging body 1 can be manufactured.

[0066] As described above, the packaging jig 20 according to the present invention is a packaging jig 20 used when packaging a plurality of glass plates G arranged in parallel with spacing between them in a vertical position using a packaging member 2, wherein the glass plates G are rectangular in shape, and the packaging member 2 comprises a lower corner holding member 11L and an upper corner holding member 11U, each having a corner holding groove 11a that holds the four corners Ga of the glass plate G, and a binding member 12 that is attached to surround the lower corner holding member 11L and the upper corner holding member 11U, and the packaging jig 20 comprises a base member 21 that holds the lower corner holding member 11L, and the base member 21 comprises a bottom holding portion 26 that holds the bottom surfaces of the lower corner holding members 11L and 11L, and a side holding portion 27 which is a regulating portion that regulates the lateral width direction of the glass plate G of the two lower corner holding members 11L and 11L.
