Abstract

The present invention relates to a microwave radiation unit (10, 40) including a refractive beamformer (12) and at least one transmission line (14), where the at least one transmission line (14) is connected to the refractive beamformer by a transition structure (16, 50a-e), the transition structure having a coupling structure (18, 72) and a waveguide (20, 52a-e) having a main propagation direction (T), the refractive beamformer and the waveguide each having parallel metal layers (C1-M1, C4-M2) and a solid dielectric (36, 38) disposed between the parallel metal layers (C1-M1, C4-M2). The invention is characterized in that at least one common connection layer (L1, L2, L3, L4, C1-DL, C2-DL, C3-DL, C4-DL, P1, P2, P3) extends over the entire lateral extension of the solid dielectric (36) of the waveguide (20) and the solid dielectric (38) of the beamformer (12).
