Abstract

A nasal cannula system including a nasal cannula for delivering oxygen to a patient's nostrils and headgear. Oxygen enters the interface on the side of the head and above or below the ear. The system uses flat tubing made of a soft material that is comfortable against the face and puts less pressure on the skin. The system reduces oxygen noise by having the oxygen enter a cannula with an expanded volume before entering the nostrils. The cannula is secured above and away from the ear by dual-strap headgear. The dual straps provide greater stability for the interface. The straps attach through slits in the back of the triangular pad. The straps are adjustable on each side of the head for comfort and stability.
