Abstract

The system includes a piston assembly including a crown portion having a crown, an outer wall coupled to the crown, a first inner wall disposed inside the outer wall, a first fluid chamber disposed radially between the outer wall and the first inner wall, and a sloped-wall insert. An opening extends axially inward into the first fluid chamber. The outer wall, first inner wall, first fluid chamber, opening, and sloped-wall insert extend circumferentially around a central axis of the piston assembly. The sloped-wall insert is disposed within the opening, and the first fluid chamber is disposed axially between the crown and the sloped-wall insert.
