Abstract

This invention discloses a method for producing phosphine compounds using diphosphonic acid (salt) and relates to the field of organic chemistry synthesis. A phosphine oxide (sulfur) compound is selectively to be mixed with a reducing agent, diphosphonic acid (salt) H4P2O5, which may or may not contain impurities, and a catalyst, elemental halogen X2 or halogenated halogen M. X X Y The mixture was thoroughly stirred and mixed to carry out the reduction reaction. After the reaction was complete, phosphine compound Y was obtained by washing with water, liquid-liquid separation, extraction, and purification. The present invention uses diphosphonic acid (salt) H4P2O5, which is an inexpensive and readily available reducing agent, and an extremely low catalytic amount of catalyst (elemental halogen X2 or halide M) X X Y By employing this method and thereby reducing the production of phosphine compounds, the use of large amounts of expensive iodine in current processes is avoided, costs are significantly reduced, and environmental pollution from subsequent treatment of iodine waste is minimized. At the same time, the production process of this invention is safe, easy to handle, and by-products generated during the reaction process are easily recovered.
