Metallized laminated material with excellent barrier properties

Abstract

Embodiments of the laminated material include a first substrate comprising a first polyethylene (PE) film and a first metallized layer disposed on at least one surface of the first PE film; a second substrate comprising a second PE film and a second metallized layer disposed on at least one surface of the second PE film; and an adhesive layer for bonding the first substrate to the second substrate, disposed between the first metallized layer and the second metallized layer, wherein the laminated material has more than 90% by weight of PE based on the total weight of the laminated material. Further embodiments relate to articles comprising the laminated material and methods for producing the laminated material.
