Abstract

The present invention relates to a catheter device (200) for closing an opening (D) in tissue (W), comprising an outer sheath (207), an inner sheath (208), and an inner shaft (210). The catheter device further comprises a first extendable tissue support (204, 205) and a puncture head (214). The inner sheath (208) has a longitudinal axis (L), and the inner shaft (210) extends along the longitudinal axis (L) through the inner sheath (207). The first extendable tissue support (204, 205) is configured to expand to a deployed position. In the deployed position, the first extendable tissue support (204, 205) defines a first support surface (213) for the tissue (W) to be punctured. The piercing head (214) is movable along the longitudinal axis (L) relative to the first tissue support (204, 205). The piercing head (214) further includes at least two needles (201) pointing substantially parallel to the longitudinal axis (L) and in the direction of the first support surface (214), the needles (201) being adapted to carry a pledget (203) attached to a suture (202).
