Battery cell and method for manufacturing the same

Abstract

The present invention provides a welding structure for a battery can, a current collector plate, and a cap, a welding method, and a battery cell to which the same is applied. The battery cell includes a can and an electrode assembly housed inside the can. The can includes a bottom member, a side wall member connected to the bottom member and extending in the axial direction, and a cap covering an open end provided at one axial end of the side wall member. The edge of the current collector plate, which is electrically connected to the electrodes of the electrode assembly, is provided with a can connecting portion that is electrically connected to the can. The edge of the cap is fixed by welding. The welding includes a plurality of first welds formed at circumferentially spaced intervals, where the open end edge of the side wall member, the edge of the cap, and the can connecting portion are all welded together, and a second weld positioned between the first welds, where at least the open end edge of the side wall member and the edge of the cap are welded. The first and second welds are arranged alternately along the circumferential direction and formed continuously.
