Abstract
The present invention provides a vehicle separation control system and method. [Solution] The vehicle system includes a track, a vehicle assembly, a coupling, and an actuation assembly. The vehicle assembly includes a first vehicle configured to move along the track and a second vehicle configured to move along the track. The coupling is configured to prevent the first vehicle from separating from the second vehicle in response to the vehicle assembly being in a first section of the track. The actuation assembly can be configured to actuate the coupling to separate the first vehicle from the second vehicle in response to the vehicle assembly being in a second section of the track different from the first section.
