Abstract
This document describes the techniques and devices for bringing a first thread device into a thread network. A second thread device is discovered on the thread network. Based on the discovery, the second thread device requests ephemeral code, which instructs the second thread device to generate ephemeral code. The ephemeral code is used to establish a secure session between the first thread device and the second thread device (or between the commissioner device and the second thread device), and this establishment is useful in instructing the second thread device to transfer credentials for the thread network to the first thread device.
