A system and method for producing hydrogen from a water-containing liquid source are disclosed. The system comprises a high-flow electrolytic cell having an inlet and an outlet, the inlet of the high-flow electrolytic cell being fluidly connected to the liquid source, and the outlet of the high-flow electrolytic cell being fluidly connected to a gas fractionation system.
