Compounds with antifungal properties

Abstract

Fungal infections are treated by administering MBX-7591, MBX-7498, their analogues, their derivatives, or pharmaceutically acceptable salts of any compound. Analogues and derivatives of MBX-7591 and MBX-7498 have been synthesized, and pharmaceutical compositions containing such compounds have been prepared for use in treating fungal infections, including drug-resistant fungal infections. Compounds and pharmaceutical compositions are used to enhance antifungal agents such as azoles against drug-resistant fungi. Compounds, compositions, and methods containing lower concentrations of antifungal agents more effectively inhibit fungal growth.
