Abstract

The present invention relates to a curable photochromic composition comprising: (a) a photochromic compound; (b) a (meth)acrylate functional component comprising at least one (meth)acrylate group and having a (meth)acrylate equivalent of 500 g / mol to 10,000 g / mol; (c) a polyamine component comprising at least two amine groups, wherein each amine group is independently selected from primary and secondary amines, but comprising at least two primary amine groups and having an amine equivalent of 30 g / mol to 250 g / mol; and (d) a polyisocyanate component comprising at least two isocyanate groups and having an isocyanate equivalent of 500 g / mol or less, wherein each isocyanate group is reversibly blocked with a blocking agent. The curable photochromic composition optionally contains (e) a catalyst. The present invention also relates to an article comprising a substrate and a photochromic layer on at least one surface of the substrate, wherein the photochromic layer is formed from the curable photochromic composition of the present invention.
