Description

Technical Field

[0001] The present invention relates to a running drum device for a tire test stand. This running drum device has a running drum that can be rotationally driven around the axis of the running drum by an output shaft, or a running drum that can be rotationally driven by a running drum shaft that can be rotationally driven by the output shaft of a rotary drive device.

[0002] Furthermore, the present invention relates to a unit for grinding the outer peripheral surface of a running drum.

Background Art

[0003] In this type of running drum device for a tire test stand, it is known to arrange the running drum on a running drum shaft that can be connected to the output shaft of the rotary drive device via a coupling. The running drum shaft is rotatably supported by bearings on both sides of the drum.

[0004] When a road surface is permanently mounted on the running drum and measurements are to be performed on different road surfaces, the entire running drum must be replaced. In this case, the bearings and the bearing housing remain on the running drum so that there is no need to disassemble the bearings. When replacing the running drum, it is necessary to disconnect and reconnect the electrical connections of the sensors in the bearing housing. It may also be necessary to check and correct the alignment of the running drum with respect to the measurement hub. The coupling between the output shaft of the rotary drive device and the running drum shaft needs to be disassembled. In this case, it may be necessary to move the rotary drive device in the axial direction. This increases the time and cost for replacing the running drum.

Summary of the Invention

Problems to be Solved by the Invention

[0005] Therefore, the object of the present invention is to overcome these drawbacks and provide a running drum device for the above-described type of tire testing stand, as well as a unit for grinding the outer surface of the running drum, which has a simple structure and enables cost-effective replacement of the running drum by centering the running drum with respect to the running drum axis without play. [Means for solving the problem]

[0006] This problem is solved by arranging a fixed bearing pin coaxially with respect to the axis of the traveling drum, surrounding the output shaft or the traveling drum axis, according to the present invention. A hub is rotatably supported on this bearing pin using at least one hydrostatic bearing. The hub is connected to the output shaft or the traveling drum axis in a manner that prevents relative rotation and includes a receptacle for coaxially fixing the traveling drum surrounding the hub.

[0007] This design according to the present invention eliminates the need for bearings and bearing housings for the travel drum shaft, as well as individual sensors for each travel drum.

[0008] The travel drum can be replaced easily and quickly without having to manually align it.

[0009] High radial force is possible with hydrostatic bearings that have a relatively large diameter.

[0010] Angle correction for the drive drum bearings is unnecessary because both support points are located on a single component (bearing pin and hub). The bearing pin has sufficient bending rigidity; therefore, deflection does not need to be considered.

[0011] To center the drive drum easily, without play, and quickly, the hub may be equipped with a hub ring that protrudes radially outward. A roller ring that protrudes radially inward from the drive drum can be connected coaxially to this hub ring with respect to the drive drum axis.

[0012] The hub ring and roller ring are arranged parallel to each other and can be connected using a shape connection that engages with each other. This allows the roller ring to be aligned coaxially with respect to the axis of the running drum.

[0013] If the hub ring has a first conical ring surface that is coaxial, radially outward, and radially circumferential, and the roller ring or separate component has a corresponding second conical ring surface that is coaxial, radially inward, and radially circumferential, the second conical ring surface enclosing the first conical ring surface, and the hub ring and roller ring are centered and axially connectable to one another, then the travel drum is also automatically centered during assembly.

[0014] The hub ring and roller ring can be easily centered and connected to each other axially by screw connections.

[0015] The presence of a first conical ring surface and / or a second conical ring surface with a tightening allowance makes it possible to achieve play-free centering of the travel drum.

[0016] Before tightening the screw connection, the interference fit of the first and / or second conical ring surfaces leaves an axial gap at the split joint of the screw connection. When the screw connection is tightened, the cones expand elastically, and the preload of the screw closes this axial gap.

[0017] The second conical ring surface of the roller ring is difficult to machine with machining tools. To make this second conical ring surface easily manufactured, i.e., grindable, a centering ring equipped with the second conical ring surface and manufactured separately can be placed coaxially between the hub ring and the roller ring.

[0018] To transmit the rotational motion of the output shaft to the hub, the output shaft or the travel drum shaft can be connected to the hub via a coaxial transmission component.

[0019] When a coupling is placed between the output shaft or the travel drum shaft and the transmission components, it facilitates the assembly and disassembly of the travel drum.

[0020] A unit for grinding the outer surface of the aforementioned type of travel drum may include a rotatable shaft and a hub ring projecting radially outward. A roller ring projecting radially inward from the travel drum can be connected coaxially to this hub ring with respect to the travel drum axis.

[0021] This allows for easy and rapid grinding of the outer surface of the traveling drum without the need for manual alignment of the traveling drum.

[0022] To center the travel drum easily, without play, and quickly, the shaft can be equipped with a hub ring that protrudes radially outward. A roller ring that protrudes radially inward from the travel drum can be connected coaxially to this hub ring with respect to the travel drum axis.

[0023] The hub ring and roller ring are arranged parallel to each other and can be connected using a shape connection that engages with each other. This allows the roller ring to be aligned coaxially with respect to the axis of the running drum.

[0024] If the hub ring has a first conical ring surface that is coaxial, radially outward, and radially circumferential, and the roller ring or separate component has a corresponding second conical ring surface that is coaxial, radially inward, and radially circumferential, the second conical ring surface enclosing the first conical ring surface, and the hub ring and roller ring are centered and axially connectable to one another, then the travel drum is also automatically centered during assembly.

[0025] The hub ring and roller ring can be easily centered and connected to each other axially by screw connections.

[0026] The first conical ring surface and / or the second conical ring surface having an interference allows play-free centering of the running drum to be achieved.

[0027] Before the threaded connection is tightened, an axial gap remains at the split joint of the threaded connection due to the interference of the first conical ring surface and / or the second conical ring surface. When the threaded connection is tightened, the cone expands elastically, and this axial gap is closed by the preload force of the screw.

[0028] The second conical ring surface of the roller ring is difficult to machine with a machining tool. In order to make this second conical ring surface easy to manufacture, that is, to be grindable, a separately manufacturable centering ring having the second conical ring surface can be arranged coaxially between the hub ring and the roller ring.

[0029] Embodiments of the present invention are shown in the drawings and are explained in more detail below. Brief Description of the Drawings

[0030] [Figure 1] It is a side view of a longitudinal section of a tire test stand having a running drum. [Figure 2] It is a cross-sectional view of a tire test stand provided with the running drum according to Figure 1. [Figure 3] It is a cross-sectional view of a unit for grinding the outer peripheral surface of the running drum. Modes for Carrying Out the Invention

[0031] The tire test stand of Figure 1 and Figure 2 includes an electric motor 1 as a rotary drive device in a test stand housing 5. Its output shaft 2 drives the coaxial running drum shaft 3 via a first coupling 8 so as to be rotatable about the running drum axis 4.

[0032] A tubular bearing pin 6 is fixedly positioned in the test stand housing 5, coaxial with respect to the travel drum axis 4. The travel drum axis 3 is guided through this bearing pin 6, and its end protruding from the bearing pin 6 can be connected to a coaxial transmission component 9 via a second coupling 7.

[0033] The transmission component 9 is connected to the hub 10 in a way that prevents relative rotation. The hub 10 is rotatably supported on bearing pins 6 by a hydrostatic bearing 11 via two lubrication pockets 13 that are spaced apart from each other in the axial direction.

[0034] Lubricant is continuously supplied to the hydrostatic bearing 11 via a pressure line 12 from a pump (not shown).

[0035] The transmission component 9 is rotatably supported on the travel drum shaft 3 by bearing bushings 15 that surround it radially spaced, via a pair of rolling bearings 14. The bearing bushings 15 are supported on the side facing the electric motor by a stopper 17 that is fixedly positioned on the travel drum shaft 3 via support bushings 16 that surround the travel drum bushings radially spaced.

[0036] The hub 10 is equipped with a flange-shaped hub ring 18 that protrudes radially outward from its central region. Parallel to this, the flange-shaped roller ring 19 of the travel drum 20 surrounding the hub 10 faces radially inward.

[0037] The hub ring 18 and the roller ring 19 are fastened together via axial screws 21.

[0038] The hub ring 18 has a first conical ring surface 22 that is outward-facing and radially circumferential. A second conical ring surface 24 of the centering ring 23, which is coaxially opposed, radially inward-facing, and radially circumferential, is partially pressed against the first conical ring surface 22. In this case, the conical ring connection between the first conical ring surface 22 and the second conical ring surface 24 has a clamping allowance. The centering ring 23 is pressed axially against the first conical ring surface 22 with preload applied by a screw 21 via a roller ring 19, so that the second conical ring surface 24 is pressed against the first conical ring surface 22. This causes the traveling drum 20 to be coaxially centered with respect to the traveling drum axis 4.

[0039] To install the travel drum 20, simply slide the travel drum 20 axially on the hub 10 and connect it to the hub ring 18 via the centering ring 23 and its roller ring 19 using screws 21. In the reverse manner, the travel drum 20 can be disassembled without the need to remove any further components.

[0040] Figure 3 shows a cross-sectional view of a unit that grinds the outer surface of the travel drum 20. In this case, the rotatable shaft 25 is equipped with a hub ring 18' that protrudes radially outward, corresponding to Figures 1 and 2. A roller ring 19 that protrudes radially inward from the travel drum 20 can be connected to this hub ring 18'.

[0041] Corresponding to Figures 1 and 2, the hub ring 18' is provided with a first conical ring surface 22'. The first conical ring surface 22' can be connected to the second conical ring surface 24 of the travel drum 20 in a tightened manner via the centering ring 23, thereby enabling centering.
