Description

TECHNICAL FIELD

[0001] The present invention relates to a device for monitoring biological signals and an electrode assembly included therein.

BACKGROUND ART

[0002] In recent years, with the rapid development of science and technology, the quality of life of all humanity has improved, and many changes have also taken place in the medical environment. In particular, recently, wearable monitoring devices capable of monitoring electrocardiogram signals in daily life without visiting a hospital have been widely prevalent in general. Conventional wearable monitoring devices generally use existing disposable Ag / AgCl electrodes, or are configured in a form in which the electrodes are mechanically integrated with a main body incorporating circuits for electrocardiogram signal monitoring, that is, an integrated electrode type. Here, conventional wearable monitoring devices may have two major problems. First, due to the characteristics of existing disposable Ag / AgCl electrodes, adhesion for more than one day is not recommended, and they have no waterproof function. Therefore, when attempting to use them for a long time, monitoring of biological signals may be impossible during the time of replacing the electrodes. Second, when the main body and the electrodes are of an integrated type, the main body can only be used for disposable purposes. Accordingly, the present inventor(s) propose a technology that ensures a high level of waterproof or dustproof performance while enabling easy attachment and detachment of the bracket by using a device including a bracket at least partially detachably coupled to a main body housing and an electrode assembly included in the device.

[Figure 2] This is a cross-sectional view showing the main housing and bracket connected in accordance with one embodiment of the present invention. [Figure 3] This is a perspective view of the main housing and bracket according to one embodiment of the present invention. [Figure 4] This drawing illustrates an example of a bracket according to one embodiment of the present invention. [Modes for carrying out the invention]

[0007] The detailed description of the present invention, as described below, will refer to the accompanying drawings illustrating specific embodiments in which the present invention may be carried out. Such embodiments will be described in detail so that those skilled in the art will be able to fully implement the present invention. It should be understood that the various embodiments of the present invention are different from each other but do not necessarily have to be mutually exclusive. For example, certain shapes, structures and characteristics described herein can be modified and embodied from one embodiment to another without departing from the spirit and scope of the present invention. It should also be understood that the position or arrangement of individual components within each embodiment can also be modified without departing from the spirit and scope of the present invention. Therefore, the detailed description described below is not intended to be restrictive, and the scope of the present invention should be understood to encompass the scope claimed in the claims and all equivalent scopes thereto. Similar reference numerals in the drawings indicate identical or similar components in various aspects. In the following, various preferred embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings, so that those with ordinary skill in the art to which the present invention pertains can easily implement the present invention.

[0008] Device Configuration Figure 1 is an exploded perspective view of device 10 according to one embodiment of the present invention. Referring to Figure 1, the device 10 according to one embodiment of the present invention may include an electrode assembly and a main body housing 100. Here, the electrode assembly according to one embodiment of the present invention may include a bracket 200, an electrode portion 300, and an attachment portion 400. Below, we will examine the main body housing 100 in detail and the detailed components of the electrode assembly in detail. First, referring to Figure 1, the main body housing 100 according to one embodiment of the present invention may include components for managing biological signals measured by electrodes formed on the electrode portion 300. According to one embodiment of the present invention, a first connecting member (not shown) may be formed on one side of the main body housing 100 (for example, the lower surface of the main body housing 100), and such a first connecting member may be mounted on a PCBA (Printed Circuit Board Assembly) located inside the main body housing 100. Furthermore, according to one embodiment of the present invention, a second connecting member may be formed on the upper surface of the electrode portion 300, which will be described later, and the biosignals acquired from the electrode portion 300 may be transmitted to the first connecting member through the second connecting member. On the other hand, according to one embodiment of the present invention, in addition to the second connecting member, the PCBA disposed inside the main body housing 100 may further be equipped with a memory that performs the function of recording biosignals, a processor that performs the function of processing biosignals (for example, if the biosignal is an electrocardiogram signal, estimating arrhythmia from the electrocardiogram signal), a communication module that performs the function of transmitting biosignals to the outside (wired or wireless transmission).

[0009] Figure 2 is a cross-sectional view showing the main housing 100 and bracket 200 connected according to one embodiment of the present invention. On the other hand, a first fixing member (for example, a protrusion or groove) may be formed on one side of the main body housing 100 according to one embodiment of the present invention. Such a fixing member may form a locking structure (or snap-fit structure) with a second fixing member formed on the bracket 200, so that the main body housing 100 can be detachably connected to the bracket 200 when the main body housing 100 is connected to the bracket 200. Referring to Figure 2, for example, the first fixing member of the main housing 100 and the second fixing member of the bracket 200 according to one embodiment of the present invention can be joined together to form a locking structure 202.

[0010] According to one embodiment of the present invention, the main housing 100 is detachably coupled to the bracket 200, so that if an unintended decrease in the adhesion force of the attachment surface occurs during biosignal monitoring, the main housing 100 can be separated from the bracket 200 and the electrode assembly can be easily replaced with another electrode assembly. This allows the measurement of biosignals to continue for the period required for monitoring, while preserving the biosignal data stored in the memory inside the main housing 100. Next, a bracket 200 according to one embodiment of the present invention can be detachably coupled to the main body housing 100.

[0011] Figure 3 is a perspective view of the main housing and bracket according to one embodiment of the present invention. Referring to Figure 3, at least one groove 201 may be formed on the lower surface of the bracket 200 according to one embodiment of the present invention. Referring to Figure 3, the bracket 200 according to one embodiment of the present invention may be configured so that at least a part of the bracket 200 bends at least partially along at least one groove 201 when pressed for removal. On the other hand, although not shown, the bracket 200 according to the present invention is made of a bendable material so that it can be bent at least partially even if no groove is formed. In other words, the bracket 200 according to one embodiment of the present invention can achieve its objective if at least a part of it can be detachably coupled to the main housing 100, and it should be considered that a groove does not necessarily need to be formed.

[0012] Referring to Figures 2 and 3, at least one groove 201 may be formed on the lower surface of the bracket 200 according to one embodiment of the present invention. Referring to Figure 3, a second fixing member (for example, a protrusion or groove) may be further formed on one side of the bracket 200 according to one embodiment of the present invention. For example, referring to Figure 2, the main housing 100 and the bracket 200 according to one embodiment of the present invention can be fastened together by a fixing member.

[0013] As another example, referring to Figure 2, the main body housing 100 and the bracket 200 according to an embodiment of the present invention may each be formed with a first fixing member and a second fixing member, and the first fixing member and the second fixing member may be coupled by a locking structure 202 (or a snap-fit structure). Meanwhile, referring to Figure 2, although it is illustrated that the first fixing member is formed as a groove and the second fixing member is formed as a protrusion, the first fixing member may be formed as a protrusion and the second fixing member may be formed as a groove, and various other coupling structures may be included as the coupling structure of the main body housing 100 and the bracket 200. Further, referring to Figure 1, the bracket 200 according to an embodiment of the present invention may be fixedly coupled to the electrode unit 300 disposed on the lower surface of the bracket 200. Therefore, according to the embodiment of the present invention, when at least a portion of the bracket 200 is pressurized for detachment, the bracket 200 is separated from the main body housing 100, whereby the electrode assembly can be detached from the main body housing 100. Meanwhile, referring to Figure 2, a first hole 203 may be further formed on the lower surface of the bracket 200 according to an embodiment of the present invention. Here, according to an embodiment of the present invention, the second connection member formed on the upper portion of the electrode unit 300 and the first connection member of the main body housing 100 may be electrically connected through the first hole 203.

[0014] Figure 4 is a drawing exemplarily illustrating the bracket 200 according to an embodiment of the present invention. Referring to Figure 4, in the bracket 200 according to an embodiment of the present invention, a second fixing member for fixing the main body housing 100 may be formed on one side. For example, the second fixing member according to an embodiment of the present invention may be formed along the inner periphery of the bracket 200, and the second fixing member and the first fixing member formed along the outer periphery of the main body housing 100 may form a locking structure (or a snap-fit structure). According to an embodiment of the present invention, the main body housing 100 can be detachably accommodated (or coupled) to the bracket 200 by such a locking structure. Referring further to FIG. 4, a grip portion 204 may be formed on one side of the bracket 200 according to an embodiment of the present invention. Here, according to an embodiment of the present invention, when the grip portion 204 is pressed for detachment of the electrode assembly, at least a portion of the bracket 200 may be partially bent, so that the electrode assembly and the main body housing 100 can be separated.

[0015] Next, the electrode unit 300 according to an embodiment of the present invention may be disposed on the lower surface of the bracket 200, and may include at least one electrode 310. Specifically, referring to FIG. 1, the electrode unit 300 according to an embodiment of the present invention may include the electrode 310, a second connection member (not shown), and a trace (not shown) that electrically connects the electrode 310 and the second connection member. For example, referring to FIG. 1, according to an embodiment of the present invention, at least two or more electrodes 310 may be formed at predetermined intervals in the electrode unit 300, and preferably three electrodes 310 including a reference electrode may be formed.

[0016] As another example, according to an embodiment of the present invention, the second connection member may perform a function of transmitting a biological signal measured from the electrode to the first connection member formed on one side of the main body housing 100. Further, according to an embodiment of the present invention, the electrode 310 may form a contact with the patient's body to measure a biological signal such as an electrocardiogram signal, and the biological signal measured from the electrode 310 may be transmitted to the second connection member through the trace. Meanwhile, the electrode unit 300 according to an embodiment of the present invention may be formed of a flexible material (for example, a FPCB (Flexible Printed Circuit Board) material) so that the electrode 310 can easily form a contact with the patient's body.

[0017] Next, the attachment portion 400 according to an embodiment of the present invention may be formed on the lower surface of the electrode unit 300. Specifically, referring to Figure 1, the adhesion portion 400 according to one embodiment of the present invention may include at least one of the adhesion pad 410, the fourth sealing layer 420, and the fifth sealing layer 430. For example, referring to Figure 1, an adhesive pad 410 according to one embodiment of the present invention can be electrically connected to the electrode 310 through the second hole 421 and the third hole 431 (or inserted into the second hole 421 and the third hole 431). That is, the adhesive pad 410 according to one embodiment of the present invention can perform the function of assisting the electrode 310 in measuring the patient's biological signals by forming a contact point with the patient's body in place of the electrode 310. Here, the number of adhesive pads 410 may correspond to the number of electrodes 310, and their size or shape may correspond to the size or shape of the electrode 310 (or the size or shape of the second hole 421 and the third hole 431).

[0018] As another example, referring to Figure 1, a fourth sealing layer 420 according to one embodiment of the present invention may be formed on the lower surface of the electrode portion 300. Here, according to one embodiment of the present invention, the fourth sealing layer 420 may be formed of a material such as double-sided tape and its upper surface may be attached to the lower surface of the electrode portion 300. Also according to one embodiment of the present invention, the lower surface of the fourth sealing layer 420 may be attached to the upper surface of the fifth sealing layer 430. On the other hand, the lower surface of the fourth sealing layer 420 according to one embodiment of the present invention may correspond to an attachment surface that allows the device 10 to be attached to the patient's body (in this case, the attachment portion 400 includes the attachment pad 410 and the fourth sealing layer 420 but does not include the fifth sealing layer 430). Furthermore, the lower surface of the fourth sealing layer 420 according to one embodiment of the present invention may have an adhesive substance placed (or applied) on its lower surface so that it can adhere to the patient, while the lower surface of the fifth sealing layer 430 may not have an adhesive substance placed (or applied) on it. Therefore, according to the present invention, after confirming that the biosignal is appropriately measured with the fifth sealing layer 430 attached to the patient, the fifth sealing layer 430 is separated so that the fourth sealing layer 420 adheres to the patient's skin, thereby enabling the selection of the optimal biosignal measurement position while preventing weakening of the adhesive force of the attachment surface.

[0019] Furthermore, in the fourth sealing layer 420 according to one embodiment of the present invention, second holes 421 may be formed at positions corresponding to the electrodes 310 formed on the electrode portion 300. Here, the number of second holes 421 may correspond to the number of electrodes 310 formed on the electrode portion 300, and their size or shape may also correspond to the size or shape of the electrodes 310. As yet another example, referring to Figure 1, a fifth sealing layer 430 according to one embodiment of the present invention may be formed on the lower surface of the adhesion portion 400. Here, according to one embodiment of the present invention, the fifth sealing layer 430 may be formed of a material such as medical adhesive tape, and its upper surface may be attached to the lower surface of the fourth sealing layer 420.

[0020] As yet another example, referring to Figure 1, a fifth sealing layer 430 according to one embodiment of the present invention may be configured to cover the portion of the fourth sealing layer 420 in which the adhesive pad 410 is exposed. According to one embodiment of the present invention, the adhesive pad 410 may be exposed to the outside through a second hole 421 formed in the fourth sealing layer 420, but the fifth sealing layer 430 is configured to cover such a second hole 421 and can perform the function of preventing the adhesive pad 410 from being exposed to the outside before the device 10 begins monitoring the patient's biosignals (or before selecting a location on the patient's body in which the device 10 will be attached). Herein, according to one embodiment of the present invention, a release agent may be formed on the surface of the fifth sealing layer 430 that is in contact with the fourth sealing layer 420 (i.e., the upper surface of the fifth sealing layer 430). Consequently, the fifth sealing layer 430 may be attached to the attachment pad 410 before the device 10 begins monitoring the patient's biosignals, and may be removed from the attachment pad 410 immediately before the device 10 begins monitoring the patient's biosignals (or at the point when it is required to select the position on the patient's body where the device 10 will be attached). On the other hand, according to one embodiment of the present invention, the surface of the fifth sealing layer 430 that is not in contact with the fourth sealing layer 420 (i.e., the lower surface of the fifth sealing layer 430) constitutes the lower surface of the device 10 before the device 10 begins monitoring the patient's biosignals, and no adhesive agent may be formed on this surface.

[0021] Furthermore, according to one embodiment of the present invention, a third hole 431 may be formed in the fifth sealing layer 430 at a position corresponding to the second hole 421 formed in the fourth sealing layer 420 (or the electrode 310 formed in the electrode portion 300). Here, the number of third holes 431 may correspond to the number of second holes 421 formed in the fourth sealing layer 420 (or the number of electrodes 310 formed in the electrode portion 300), and their size or shape may also correspond to the size or shape of the second hole 421 (or the size or shape of the electrode 310). Furthermore, according to one embodiment of the present invention, a cut (not shown) may be formed on one side of the fifth sealing layer 430 to facilitate removal of the fifth sealing layer 430 from the fourth sealing layer 420. According to one embodiment of the present invention, such a cut may be formed across the fifth sealing layer 430 to separate the fifth sealing layer 430 into multiple pieces.

[0022] On the other hand, referring to Figure 1, a first sealing member 210 can be arranged between the main housing 100 and the bracket 200 according to one embodiment of the present invention. Specifically, referring to Figure 1, the first sealing member 210 according to one embodiment of the present invention may be made of a waterproof or dustproof material (for example, waterproof tape). Here, the first sealing member 210 according to one embodiment of the present invention may be made of a shape corresponding to the shape of the lower surface of the main housing 100 so as to be able to cover the lower surface of the main housing 100. Referring to Figure 1, a fourth hole 211 may be formed in the first sealing member 210 according to one embodiment of the present invention. In this embodiment of the present invention, the second connecting member formed on the upper part of the electrode portion 300 and the first connecting member of the main body housing 100 can be electrically connected through the first hole 203 and the fourth hole 211.

[0023] Furthermore, referring to Figures 1 to 4, according to one embodiment of the present invention, the first sealing member 210 can be separated from the bracket 200 by pressurizing at least a portion of the bracket 200 for removal, and by bending at least partially the bracket 200 along at least one groove. Therefore, according to the present invention, a device can be realized in which a high level of waterproofing or dustproofing is ensured by arranging the first sealing member 210 between the bracket 200, which is configured to be at least partially bendable, and the main body housing 100.

[0024] Referring to Figure 1, a second sealing member 220 can be arranged between the bracket 200 and the electrode portion 300 according to one embodiment of the present invention. Specifically, referring to Figure 1, the second sealing member 220 according to one embodiment of the present invention may include at least one of the first sealing layer 221, the second sealing layer 222, and the third sealing layer 223.

[0025] For example, referring to Figures 1 to 4, the first sealing layer 221 according to one embodiment of the present invention may be configured in a shape corresponding to the shape of the first hole 203 so as to cover the first hole 203 of the bracket 200. According to one embodiment of the present invention, since biosignals can be transmitted from the electrode part 300 to the PCBA mounted on the main body housing 100 through the first hole 203, the first hole 203 may include a circuit structure (not shown). Here, according to one embodiment of the present invention, since the circuit structure needs to be waterproof or dustproof, waterproof or dustproof functionality can be ensured by arranging the first sealing layer 221 to correspond to the first hole 203. Furthermore, the first sealing layer 221 according to one embodiment of the present invention may be made of a material that embodies waterproof or dustproof functionality.

[0026] As another example, referring to Figure 1, the second sealing layer 222 according to one embodiment of the present invention may be positioned on the lower surface of the bracket 200. Furthermore, the second sealing layer 222 according to one embodiment of the present invention may be configured in a shape corresponding to the shape of the lower surface of the bracket 200. Also, the second sealing layer 222 according to one embodiment of the present invention may be made of a material that embodies waterproof or dustproof functionality, such as medical adhesive tape. As yet another example, referring to Figure 1, the third sealing layer 223 according to one embodiment of the present invention may be configured to cover the upper surface of the electrode portion 300 by being positioned on the lower surface of the bracket 200 and on the upper surface of the electrode portion 300. Here, according to one embodiment of the present invention, by the third sealing layer 223 being able to cover the upper surface of the electrode portion 300, the electrode portion can be prevented from being exposed to the outside (for example, the FPCB is not exposed to the outside). Furthermore, the third sealing layer 223 according to one embodiment of the present invention may be made of a material that embodies waterproof or dustproof functions, such as medical adhesive tape.

[0027] On the other hand, the second sealing member 220 according to one embodiment of the present invention does not have to include all of the first sealing layer 221, the second sealing layer 222, and the third sealing layer 223, but may include only a part of them. For example, the second sealing member 220 according to one embodiment of the present invention may consist only of the third sealing layer 223. In this case, only the third sealing layer 223 may be placed between the bracket 200 and the electrode portion 300.

[0028] As another example, the third sealing layer 223 may be removed (or separated) after the device 10 according to one embodiment of the present invention has been attached to a patient. In this case, while the device 10 is attached to the patient and biosignals are being measured, the second sealing member 220 according to one embodiment of the present invention includes the first sealing layer 221 and the second sealing layer 222, but does not include the third sealing layer 223. On the other hand, at least one of the first sealing layer 221, second sealing layer 222, and third sealing layer 223 according to one embodiment of the present invention may further have a hole (not shown) formed therein, through which a circuit structure (not shown) for transmitting biological signals can be passed (or drawn into).

[0029] How to attach the device to the user's body The components of device 10 have been described in detail above. Below, we will describe in detail how device 10 attaches to the user's body. According to one embodiment of the present invention, the device 10 can be transmitted to a patient with the electrode assembly and the main body housing 100 coupled together, and with each component of the electrode assembly coupled together. First, according to one embodiment of the present invention, an adhesive substance does not need to be formed on the lower surface of the fifth sealing layer 430, and even if the device 10 comes into contact with the patient's body in this state, the device 10 will not adhere to the patient's body.

[0030] Next, according to one embodiment of the present invention, the patient's biological signals can be observed while the device 10 is positioned at various locations on the patient's body, and the position in which the biological signals are measured most clearly can be selected. A marker can also be displayed at the selected position. Next, according to one embodiment of the present invention, the fifth sealing layer 430 may be removed from the device 10 after the device 10 has been removed from the patient's body. According to one embodiment of the present invention, with the fifth sealing layer 430 removed from the device 10, only the fourth sealing layer 420 and the adhesive pad 410 may be exposed at the lower end of the device 10. Next, according to one embodiment of the present invention, the lower surface of the fourth sealing layer 420, i.e., the adhesive surface, can be attached to the position indicated by the marker, with the fourth sealing layer 420 and the adhesive pad 410 exposed at the lower end of the device 10.

[0031] Finally, according to one embodiment of the present invention, the third sealing layer 223 can be removed from the device 10 while the adhesive surface is attached to the patient's body (i.e., at the location indicated by the marker). As a result, the present invention minimizes the decrease in adhesive force of the attachment surface that may occur during the process of selecting the attachment position of the device 10, and makes it possible to select the optimal position in the patient's body that allows for clear measurement of biological signals. Although the present invention has been described above with specific details such as concrete components, limited embodiments, and drawings, these are provided only to aid in a more general understanding of the invention, and the invention is not limited to the above embodiments. A person with ordinary skill in the art to which the invention pertains can attempt various modifications and changes from this description.

[0032] Therefore, the concept of the present invention should not be limited to the embodiments described above, and it can be said that not only the claims described later, but also all scopes equivalent to or equivalently modified from these claims, fall within the scope of the concept of the present invention.
