[0014] Hereinafter, embodiments of the present disclosure will be described in more detail with reference to the accompanying drawings. Although the drawings show specific embodiments of the present disclosure, it should be understood that the present disclosure may be implemented in various forms and should not be construed as being limited to the embodiments set forth herein; rather, these embodiments are provided so that the present disclosure may be thoroughly and completely understood. It should be understood that the drawings and embodiments of the present disclosure are for illustrative purposes only and do not limit the scope of protection of the present disclosure.
[0015] In the description of the embodiments of the present disclosure, the term "comprising" and similar terms thereof shall be understood as non-limiting inclusion, that is, meaning "including but not limited to". The term "based on" shall be understood as "based at least in part on". The term "one embodiment" or "the embodiment" shall be understood as "at least one embodiment". The term "some embodiments" shall be understood as "at least some embodiments". Other explicit and implicit definitions may also be included below.
[0016] In this specification, unless explicitly stated otherwise, performing a step "in response to A" does not mean that the step is performed immediately after "A", and may include one or more intermediate steps.
[0017] It should be understood that the data related to the present technical solution (including but not limited to the data itself, the acquisition or use of the data) shall comply with the requirements of corresponding laws, regulations and relevant provisions.
[0018] It should be understood that before using the technical solutions disclosed in each embodiment of the present disclosure, the types, usage scopes, usage scenarios, etc. of personal information involved in the present disclosure shall be notified to the user in an appropriate manner in accordance with relevant laws and regulations, and the user's consent shall be obtained.
[0019] For example, in response to receiving an active request from a user, prompt information may be sent to the user, clearly indicating that the operation requested by the user requires the acquisition and use of the user's personal information, thereby allowing the user to voluntarily choose whether to provide personal information to software or hardware such as an electronic device, application, server or storage medium that performs the operation of the proposed technical method of this disclosure, based on the prompt information.
[0020] As a selective but non-restrictive implementation, the method for sending prompt information to the user in response to receiving an active request from the user may be, for example, a pop-up, in which the prompt information can be presented in text format. Furthermore, the pop-up may include a selection control for the user to choose whether to "agree" or "disagree" to providing personal information to the electronic device.
[0021] The above notice and user consent process are merely illustrative and do not limit the way in which this disclosure may be implemented. Please understand that other methods that comply with applicable laws and regulations may also be applicable to the implementation of this disclosure.
[0022] As mentioned earlier, users who publish videos (referred to as video publishers) can also configure settings for the video before publishing it. Video publishers can then publish these settings information to the platform, associating it with the video. Viewers / viewers of the video can then view videos on the platform that have these settings information.
[0023] Traditionally, publishers could only configure settings for information such as the video title, description, and cover image. Because the platform lacks the ability to configure resource consumption for publishers (also known as creators), publishers cannot configure resource consumption for their videos on the platform. This can impact the publisher's video creation and publishing experience. Therefore, it is desirable to complement the platform's ability to configure resource consumption and meet the needs of publishers who wish to configure resource consumption for their videos.
[0024] According to embodiments of this disclosure, a solution for video publishing and playback is proposed. In the solution according to embodiments of this disclosure, in the video publishing scene, a video publishing page is presented in response to a trigger from the publisher (i.e., the first user). The publishing page includes a consumption setting entry for the video. For the convenience of discussion herein, "publisher" and "first user" may be used interchangeably. Resource consumption settings for the video entered by the publisher are obtained via the consumption setting entry. Based on the video publishing instruction, the video is published in association with the resource consumption settings. In the video playback scene, when presenting the video to the viewer (i.e., the second user), it is determined whether the second user has permission to view the video based on the video's resource consumption settings and the second user's history consumption information. For the convenience of discussion herein, "viewer" and "second user" may be used interchangeably. If it is determined that the second user does not have permission to view the video, a consumption entry for receiving resource consumption is presented. In response to receiving the amount of resources indicated via the consumption entry, the second user determines that they have permission to watch the video and plays the video.
[0025] This method, according to the embodiments of this disclosure, allows the publisher of a work to voluntarily and flexibly set viewing permissions for the work as needed. This expands the types of works that can be published and provides diverse publishing and viewing functions. This not only encourages the creation and publication of works, but also helps publishers earn resource revenue and improves the user experience on the work publishing platform. Published video works of this type can be recommended to the application's recommended content feed as needed, and viewers who wish to view them can acquire viewing permissions by consuming the corresponding resources.
[0026] Exemplary embodiments of this disclosure will be described below with reference to the attached drawings.
[0027] Exemplary environment Figure 1 shows a schematic diagram of an exemplary environment 100 in which embodiments of the present disclosure may be implemented. In environment 100, user 110 can publish a video to a target platform via an associated terminal device 120. In some scenarios, user 110 is also referred to as the video publisher.
[0028] One or more users 130-1, 130-2, ..., 130-N can view or watch videos published by user 110 on the target platform via their respective associated terminal devices 140-1, 140-2, ..., 140-N. For the sake of clarity, users 130-1, 130-2, ..., 130-N may be collectively or individually referred to as user 130, and terminal devices 140-1, 140-2, ..., 140-N may be collectively or individually referred to as terminal device 140. In some scenarios, user 130 may also be referred to as the viewer, observer, or audience of the video.
[0029] In some embodiments, terminal devices 120 and 140 may have platforms installed that support video publishing and video playback, respectively. Such platforms may be, for example, applications or websites. Users 110 and 130 can operate terminal devices 120 and 140 to access the corresponding applications or websites. In some embodiments, the platform for publishing videos and the platform for playing videos may be different platforms. For example, user 120 edits and publishes a video on the first platform, and the publishing operation instructs the video to be published to the second platform. User 140 can then view the video on the second platform.
[0030] In some embodiments, terminal devices 120 and 140 can communicate with server 150 via network 152 to provide video publishing and video playback services. Server 150 can provide functions such as application or website management, configuration, and maintenance. It should be noted that terminal device 120 can also perform various operations on the target platform, such as viewing videos, based on user 110's operations, and terminal device 140 can also publish videos to the target platform based on user 130's operations. In the following, operations described with reference to terminal device 120 can similarly be implemented by terminal device 140, and operations described with reference to terminal device 140 can similarly be implemented by terminal device 120.
[0031] Terminal devices 120 and 140 may be any type of mobile, fixed, or portable terminal, including mobile phones, desktop computers, laptop computers, notebook computers, netbook computers, tablet computers, media computers, multimedia tablets, personal communication system (PCS) devices, personal navigation devices, personal digital assistants (PDAs), audio / video players, digital cameras / video cameras, television receivers, radio receivers, e-book devices, game devices, or any combination of the aforementioned items, and may include accessories and peripherals for these devices, or any combination thereof. In some embodiments, terminal devices 120 and 140 may also support any type of interface for the user (such as “wearable” circuitry). Server 150 may be any type of computing system / server capable of providing computing power, including but not limited to mainframes, edge computing nodes, and computing devices in a cloud environment.
[0032] The structure and function of each element in Environment 100 are described for illustrative purposes only and should not be interpreted as implying any limitation to the scope of this disclosure.
[0033] The following describes in detail various exemplary implementations of this disclosure.
[0034] Exemplary Embodiment of Video Publication Figures 2A to 2G show schematic diagrams of exemplary pages 200A to 200G for video publication according to several embodiments of the present disclosure. It should be understood that the pages shown in the drawings are merely examples, and various page designs are possible in practice. Each graphic element within a page may have a different arrangement and different visual representation, one or more elements may be omitted or replaced, and one or more other elements may be present. Embodiments of the present disclosure are not limited in this respect.
[0035] The pages shown in Exemplary Page 200A to Exemplary Page 200G may be presented on terminal device 120. For the sake of discussion, Exemplary Page 200A to Exemplary Page 200G will be described with reference to environment 100 in Figure 1.
[0036] In environment 100, terminal device 120 presents a video publication page. The video publisher (i.e., a first user, e.g., user 110) can publish the video via this publication page, for example, publishing the video to a target application. In some embodiments, the video publication page presented by terminal device 120 may also be the target application's work publication page; that is, user 110 publishes the video via the target application's work publication page, and the video is published to the target application. Alternatively or additionally, the publication page may be a page provided by another application or platform. For example, the publication page may be a publication page provided by a video production application. The user publishes the video to a target application outside the video production application via the publication page provided by the video production application. The target application is at least an application that supports a video viewing service.
[0037] In embodiments of this disclosure, the video's public page includes consumption setting entries for the video. In some embodiments, the public page may directly include consumption setting entries; that is, the consumption setting entries are directly presented on the public page. In some embodiments, if there is a lot of cluttered setting information for the video, the setting entries corresponding to different setting information are often categorized and presented to improve the publishing experience for the publisher, thereby presenting a public page with a more organized layout. Exemplarily, the public page may include setting entries. In response to detecting a trigger operation on a setting entry, the terminal device 120 presents a setting interface that includes multiple setting entries. This setting interface may include at least consumption setting entries.
[0038] As shown in Figure 2A, the exemplary page 200A includes a video description information setting entry 210. The terminal device 120 can receive description information for describing the video entered by the user 110 via the description information setting entry 210. The exemplary page 200A also includes a cover setting entry 211. The terminal device 120 can receive a video cover image entered by the user 110 via the cover setting entry 211. The exemplary page 200A also includes a public entry 201. Based on the user input received via the public entry 201, the terminal device 120 can determine which user groups can view the publicly shared video. For example, if the user input is "Public to everyone," the terminal device 120 can determine that all users can view the video. If the user input is "Public to friends only," the terminal device 120 can determine that only the user 110's friends in the target application can view the video.
[0039] The exemplary page 200A also includes a synchronization entry 202. Based on user input received via the synchronization entry 202, the terminal device 120 can decide which platform outside the application providing the exemplary page 200A to publish the video to. The exemplary page 200A also includes a draft save control 204 and a publish control 205. In response to detecting a trigger operation on the draft save control 204, the terminal device 120 can associate the configuration information obtained via the exemplary page 200A with the video to be published and save it to the draft box. In response to detecting a trigger operation on the publish control 205, the terminal device 120 can publish the configuration information obtained via the exemplary page 200A with the video to be published to the target application.
[0040] The exemplary page 200A also includes a configuration entry 204. In response to detecting a trigger operation on the configuration entry 204, the terminal device 120 can present the exemplary page 200B shown in Figure 2B. As shown in Figure 2B, the exemplary page 200B includes a configuration interface 220, which includes multiple configuration entries. These multiple configuration entries may include, for example, a configuration entry 221 for setting whether to save locally after publication, a configuration entry 222 for setting whether to retain a watermark on the content, a configuration entry 223 for setting whether to publish in high quality, a configuration entry 224 for setting whether to allow downloads by viewers, a configuration entry 225 (i.e., a consumption configuration entry) for setting consumption settings for the video, a configuration entry 226 for setting who can duet, and a configuration entry 227 for setting who can transfer. Note that configuration entries 221, 222, 223, and 224 are presented in switch format and can be switched to different states to indicate whether the corresponding function is enabled or disabled.
[0041] In response to detecting a trigger operation on a consumption setting entry (e.g., setting entry 225), the terminal device 120 may present a setting interface that includes at least input controls for resource amounts. In some embodiments, the terminal device 120 may present the setting interface directly based on the trigger of the consumption setting entry. In some embodiments, the terminal device 120 may also determine whether the publisher meets the requirements related to consumption settings. If the publisher does not meet these requirements, the terminal device 120 may determine that the publisher does not have the authority to configure resource consumption settings. In some embodiments, when determining whether the publisher meets the requirements related to consumption settings, the terminal device 120 may indicate that the publisher cannot configure resource consumption by any appropriate prompt information, such as playing audio, presenting text, or presenting an image. Exemplaryly, the terminal device 120 may present an exemplary page 200C, as shown in Figure 2C, for example.
[0042] Exemplary page 200C presents a prompt interface 230. The prompt interface 230 presents a region 231 and an operation control 232. Region 231 presents at least some of the requirements related to consumption settings. In response to detecting a trigger operation on the operation control 232, terminal device 120 may cancel the presentation of the prompt interface 230 and switch to presenting the exemplary page 200B shown in Figure 2B, keeping the setting entry 225 for setting consumption settings for video on the exemplary page 200B shown in Figure 2B in the off state. This off state indicates that the setting entry 225 cannot receive consumption settings for video. It should be understood that if the publisher meets the requirements, terminal device 120 may present a setting interface that includes at least an input control for resource amounts and switch the setting entry 225 to the on state. The on state indicates that terminal device 120 can receive resource consumption settings for video entered by the publisher based on a trigger operation on the setting entry.
[0043] In some embodiments, when the terminal device 120 first detects a trigger operation on a consumption setting entry, the terminal device 120 can provide guidance information regarding resource consumption settings. The terminal device 120 can provide guidance information in any appropriate way, such as playing audio, presenting text, or presenting images. Exemplaryly, the terminal device 120 may present an exemplary page 200D, as shown in Figure 2D. The exemplary page 200D presents a guidance interface 240. The guidance interface 240 presents guidance information that says, "If enabled, your content will have the opportunity to be displayed to the user, and the user can view the full version after converting the resources." The guidance interface 240 also includes operation controls 241 and 242. In response to detecting a trigger operation on operation control 241 or operation control 242, the terminal device 120 may cancel the presentation of the guidance interface 240 and switch to presenting a setting interface that includes at least an input control for the amount of resources.
[0044] The terminal device 120 can obtain resource consumption settings for a video entered by the video publisher via a settings interface. The resource consumption settings indicate at least the amount of resources consumed to obtain viewing rights for the video. Resources include any type of resources that can be exchanged between the video publisher and the viewer, including currency, points, or various types of physical or virtual resources defined in each application. In some embodiments, the resource consumption settings may further indicate the viewing time of the video (also called the video viewing time) for which resource consumption is exempted, and / or video identification information (e.g., video cover, video title, etc.).
[0045] An example of a configuration interface can be found in the exemplary page 200E shown in Figure 2E. As shown in Figure 2E, the exemplary page 200E includes prompt information 250 and an operation control 255 for canceling the presentation of prompt information 250. The exemplary page 200E includes a region 260 and an operation control 265. Based on a trigger for the operation control 265, the terminal device 120 can acquire the video cover image entered by the publisher and present it in region 260. The exemplary page 200E further includes an input control 271 for the video title, an input control 272 for the amount of resources, and an input control 273 for the viewing time of the video for which resource consumption is waived. Based on a trigger for the input control 271, the terminal device 120 can receive the video title entered on the exemplary page 200E.
[0046] The terminal device 120 can receive settings regarding resource amounts entered on exemplary page 200E based on a trigger on input control 272. Specifically, the terminal device 120 can present exemplary page 200F, shown in Figure 2F, in response to detecting a trigger operation on input control 272 on exemplary page 200E. Exemplary page 200F presents a resource amount setting interface 280. The resource amount setting interface 280 presents an input entry 281 and a completion control 282. The terminal device 120 can receive setting values regarding resource amounts entered by the publishing side via input entry 281. The resource amount setting interface 280 can also present, for example, at least one recommended value regarding resource amounts, and the terminal device 120 can present this value to input entry 281 in response to detecting a selection operation for a target recommended value. In response to detecting a trigger operation for the completion control 282, the terminal device 120 receives the numerical value presented in the input entry 281 and can determine that the numerical value is the amount of resources consumed to obtain the video viewing permission set by the publisher.
[0047] The terminal device 120 can receive the viewing time, i.e., trial time or free time, of a video for which resource consumption is waived, entered on the exemplary page 200E, based on a trigger from the input control 273. Specifically, in response to detecting a trigger operation on the input control 273 of the exemplary page 200E, the terminal device 120 can present the exemplary page 200G shown in Figure 2G. The exemplary page 200G may include, for example, providing a preview interface 290 for a video. The preview interface 290 includes an input control 292, and the terminal device 120 can obtain the viewing time entered by the publisher based on a trigger from the input control 292.
[0048] In some embodiments, the preview interface 290 further includes a region 291. In region 291, the terminal device 120 may present a playback preview in which resource consumption of the video is waived within the indicated viewing time. Alternatively or additionally, in region 291, an interface preview may be presented for requesting resource consumption and obtaining viewing permission. Providing such a preview is useful for the video publisher to see how the video will appear to the viewer after completing the corresponding resource consumption settings, thereby allowing them to decide whether to adjust the current resource consumption settings as needed, for example, the viewing time for which resource consumption is waived, the video's identification information, etc.
[0049] In some embodiments, the preview interface 290 further includes a save control 293 and a close control 294. In response to detecting a selection operation of the save control 293, the terminal device 120 can obtain the viewing time entered by the publisher in the preview interface 290. In response to detecting a selection operation of the close control 294, the terminal device 120 can delete the configuration information entered by the publisher in the configuration interface 290 and cancel the presentation of the preview interface 290.
[0050] In response to the terminal device 120 detecting the selection operation of the completion control 282 in Figure 2F, or in response to the selection operation of the save control 293 or close control 294 in Figure 2G, the terminal device 120 switches to presenting an exemplary page 200E, and the corresponding controls on the exemplary page 200E display the resource amount and viewing time entered by the publisher in the resource amount setting interface 280 and the preview interface 290. The exemplary page 200E further includes a confirmation control 274 and a close control 275. In response to the terminal device 120 detecting the selection operation of the confirmation control 274, it can receive the resource consumption settings entered by the publisher on the exemplary page 200E, namely the video cover, video title, the amount of resources consumed to obtain viewing rights for the video, and the viewing time of the video for which resource consumption is exempted, entered by the publisher on the exemplary page 200E. In response to detecting the selection operation of the confirmation control 275, the terminal device 120 can delete the resource consumption settings entered by the publisher on the exemplary page 200E and keep the setting entry 225 for setting consumption settings for video on the exemplary page 200B shown in Figure 2B in the off state.
[0051] When an application needs to present a large amount of information, it is common to categorize and present the information so that users can retrieve it in a more concise way. Categorizing and presenting information often requires setting up multiple navigation tabs on a page, each corresponding to different types of information. Users can access the page corresponding to a tab by switching between different navigation tabs. In some embodiments, application 120 may provide navigation tabs for navigating to different pages. In embodiments of this disclosure, a page, including a content display page, may be presented by selecting at least one predetermined navigation tab. That is, a predetermined navigation tab in the application can be used to navigate to a content display page.
[0052] In some embodiments, the video to be made public may be a video that should be included in a video collection. If the video is included in a video collection, the terminal device 120 can obtain the collection resource consumption settings set for the video collection via a consumption setting entry and determine the resource consumption settings for the video based on the collection resource consumption settings. Specifically, the terminal device 120 can present schematic diagrams of exemplary pages 300A to 300C for collection publication, as shown in Figures 3A to 3C. The pages shown in exemplary pages 300A to 300C may be presented to the terminal device 120.
[0053] It should be understood that exemplary pages 300A through 300C are merely examples, and various page designs are possible in practice. Each graphic element within a page may have a different arrangement and different visual representation, one or more elements may be omitted or replaced, and one or more other elements may be present. Embodiments of this disclosure are not limited in this respect.
[0054] If the video to be made public should be included in a new video collection, or if the video publisher wants to create a new collection, terminal device 120 can present an exemplary page as shown in Figure 3A. The exemplary page 300A includes an input entry 311 for obtaining the collection title, an input entry 312 for obtaining the collection description, and an input entry 313 for obtaining the collection cover. In response to detecting a trigger operation for the text "Upload collection cover" in input entry 313, terminal device 110 can obtain the cover image of the collection uploaded by the publisher and present the image to input entry 313. The exemplary page 300A may further include a collection resource consumption setting switch 314, and terminal device 120 will obtain the collection resource consumption setting for the video collection entered by the publisher only if the switch 314 is ON.
[0055] The exemplary page 300A further includes an input entry 316 for retrieving a video to be added to a video collection. In response to detecting a selection operation on the input entry 316, the terminal device 120 can retrieve the video uploaded by the publisher to be added to the video collection. The exemplary page 300A further includes a create control 317 and a cancel control 318. In response to detecting a selection operation on the create control 317, the terminal device 120 can retrieve the configuration information for the video collection entered by the publisher on the exemplary page 300A and create the video collection based on this configuration information. In response to detecting a selection operation on the cancel control 318, the terminal device 120 can delete the configuration information for the video collection entered by the publisher on the exemplary page 300A and cancel the creation of the video collection.
[0056] As mentioned above, the terminal device 120 obtains the collection resource consumption settings for the video collection input by the publisher only when the switch 314 is ON. Specifically, when the switch 314 is ON, the terminal device 120 can present the exemplary page 300B shown in Figure 3B in response to receiving a trigger operation on the edit control 315 (the edit control 315 is a consumption setting entry provided in exemplary page 300A).
[0057] In some embodiments, a video collection can be provided with an integrated consumption mode, a partially integrated consumption mode, and / or a single video consumption mode. In integrated consumption mode, the collection resource consumption setting for a video collection can indicate the total amount of resources consumed to obtain viewing rights for the video collection. This allows a user to obtain viewing rights for each video in the video collection by providing the total amount of resources required for the video collection at once.
[0058] In some embodiments, in a partially integrated consumption mode and / or a single video consumption mode, the collection resource consumption setting can indicate the amount of resources consumed to obtain viewing rights for some of the videos in the video collection. For example, in a single video consumption mode, the collection resource consumption setting can allow defining the amount of resources consumed for viewing rights for each video in the video collection. This allows a user to obtain viewing rights for a single video by transferring the amount of resources corresponding to that video. Alternatively, for example, in a partially integrated consumption mode, the collection resource consumption setting can also define the amount of resources consumed for viewing rights for a subset of videos in the video collection, allowing a user to obtain viewing rights for some of the videos in that subset by consuming the corresponding amount of resources.
[0059] In some embodiments, alternatively or additionally, the collection resource consumption setting may indicate a custom consumption setting, which indicates that a user is allowed to define the resource consumption for viewing permissions of one or more videos within a video collection. Custom consumption settings allow users viewing a video collection to flexibly define which videos they want to view and transfer the corresponding amount of resources. When custom consumption settings are supported, it is possible to set the amount of resources corresponding to individual videos within a video collection. This makes it possible to determine the total amount of resources a user consumes after the videos have been published, based on one or more videos defined by the user.
[0060] As shown in Figure 3B, the exemplary page 300B may be, for example, a configuration interface for retrieving collection resource consumption settings set for a video collection. The exemplary page 300B includes an input entry 321 for setting the number of videos included in the video collection, an input entry 322 for setting the update completion time for the video collection, an input entry 323 for setting how to obtain viewing rights for videos in the video collection, and input entries 325 and 326 for setting the viewing time for videos in the video collection that are exempt from resource consumption.
[0061] Note that the collection resource settings for a video collection can include an integrated consumption mode (i.e., to watch any video in the video collection, the user must first acquire viewing rights for that video collection, and after paying the total amount of resources required to acquire viewing rights for the video collection, the user can watch any video in the video collection), a partial integrated consumption mode (i.e., the user can selectively acquire viewing rights for a subset of videos in the video collection), and / or a single video consumption mode (i.e., the user can freely select and acquire viewing rights for individual videos in the video collection). In the example in Figure 3B, input entry 323 for setting how to acquire viewing rights for videos in a video collection indicates the setting of the total amount of resources consumed to acquire viewing rights for the video collection. Terminal device 120 presents input entry 324 for setting the total amount of resources consumed to acquire viewing rights for the entire video collection only if the user input received by input entry 323 is in integrated consumption mode.
[0062] The exemplary page 300B further includes a select control 328 and a cancel control 329. In response to detecting a selection operation for the select control 328, the terminal device 120 saves the collection resource consumption settings for the video collection received on exemplary page 300B. In response to detecting a selection operation for the cancel control 329, the terminal device 120 deletes the collection resource consumption settings for the video collection received on exemplary page 300B. In response to detecting a selection operation for either the select control 328 or the cancel control 329 on exemplary page 300B, for example, the terminal device 120 returns to presenting exemplary page 300A. When the terminal device 120 responds to detecting a selection operation for the select control 328, it should be understood that the terminal device 120 presents the collection resource consumption settings obtained on exemplary page 300B in the "Settings Details" area of exemplary page 300A.
[0063] In some embodiments, when adding a video to be published to an already created video collection, the terminal device 120 may provide an exemplary page 300C as shown in Figure 3C. The exemplary page 300C includes an input entry 331 for obtaining the video title, an input entry 332 for obtaining video description information, and an input entry 336 for obtaining the video cover. Similarly, in response to detecting a trigger operation on the text "Select Cover" in input entry 336, the terminal device 120 may obtain the cover image of the video uploaded by the publisher and present the image to input entry 336. The exemplary page 300C may also present at least one recommended cover image 337, which may be an image that the terminal device 120 or the server 150 has determined to match the video. The exemplary page 300C may further include a resource consumption setting switch 341. When the switch 341 is ON, the terminal device 120 may obtain the resource consumption setting for the video currently being published that has been entered by the publisher.
[0064] The exemplary page 300C may further include, for example, an input entry 343 for setting the location where the video will be added, and an input entry 345 for setting the resource amount for each video to be added to the video collection. If the user input received by the terminal device 120 via input entry 343 is a collection, the exemplary page 300C may further include an input entry 344 for setting the video collection to which the video will be added. In response to detecting a trigger operation of input entry 345, the terminal device 120 can obtain the setting information regarding the resource amount of the video to be added to the collection, which was entered by the publisher. The exemplary page 300C may further include a publish control 346 and a cancel control 347. In response to a selection operation of the publish control 346, the terminal device 120 adds the video to the video collection indicated by input entry 344 and publishes the video. In response to detecting a selection operation of the cancel control 347, the terminal device 120 deletes the user input received on the exemplary page 300C and cancels the addition of the video to the video collection.
[0065] Only through exemplary pages 300A to 300C shown in Figures 3A to 3C can the terminal device 120 obtain the collection resource consumption settings for a video collection set by the publisher. Since the collection resource consumption settings include the resource consumption settings for the videos within the collection, the terminal device 120 can determine the resource consumption settings for the videos based on the collection resource consumption settings. For example, if the collection resource consumption settings indicate that the consumption mode for viewing rights of videos within the collection is "integrated consumption mode," the terminal device 120 can determine that each video within the video collection inherits the resource consumption settings of the video collection, that is, a viewer with viewing rights to the video collection can view each video within the video collection. If the collection resource consumption settings indicate that the method for obtaining viewing rights for videos within the collection is "partial integrated consumption mode" or "single video consumption mode," the terminal device 120 can obtain the resource consumption settings set by the publisher for a video subset or individual videos, respectively.
[0066] According to the embodiments of this disclosure, video publishers can voluntarily and flexibly set video viewing permissions as needed, thereby expanding the types of videos they can publish and helping them to generate resource revenue.
[0067] Exemplary Embodiment of Video Playback Figures 4A to 4E show schematic diagrams of exemplary pages 400A to 400E for video playback according to several embodiments of the present disclosure.
[0068] The pages shown in exemplary pages 400A to 400E may be presented on terminal device 140. For the sake of discussion, exemplary pages 400A to 400E will be described with reference to environment 100 in Figure 1.
[0069] In environment 100, terminal device 140 presents a video playback page (also called a playback interface, the two being interchangeable). The viewer of the video (i.e., a second user, e.g., user 130) can view the video via this playback page. In some embodiments, the video playback page presented by terminal device 140 may be the content display page of the target application.
[0070] In some embodiments, the target application has a video information feed, meaning the video playback page of the target application can present different videos. The terminal device 140 can decide to present a video to a second user in response to detecting a request to view a particular video in the information feed. For example, the terminal device 140 can switch to a different video in the video information feed in response to detecting an upward or downward swipe operation by the user on the playback page. In some embodiments, the terminal device 140 can receive a selection operation for a particular video by a second user, which indicates a request to view that video. In some embodiments, the terminal device 140 can also detect a request to view a video in the information feed when it receives a launch operation of the target application or a refresh operation of the playback page by the user.
[0071] The videos in the video information feed include videos with resource consumption settings (i.e., videos that require a certain amount of resources to be consumed in order to obtain playback rights) and videos without resource consumption settings (i.e., videos that viewers can play without consuming any resources).
[0072] In embodiments of this disclosure, when it is decided to present a specific video to a viewer, the terminal device 140 can determine whether the viewer has the right to view the video based on the video's resource consumption settings and the viewer's history consumption information. The viewer's history consumption information indicates whether the viewer consumed a certain amount of resources to obtain the right to view the video. The resource consumption settings indicate at least the amount of resources consumed to obtain the right to view the video. The history consumption information may be maintained locally on the server 150 or on the terminal device 140. After the viewer has provided resource consumption for a specific video, the history consumption information may be updated. The update of the history consumption information may be performed on the server 150 or locally on the terminal device 140.
[0073] If it is determined that the second user does not have permission to view the video, the terminal device 140 presents a consumption entry to receive resource consumption. This consumption entry may be presented in any appropriate format and in any appropriate location. In some embodiments, this consumption entry may be presented directly on the playback interface.
[0074] As shown in Figure 4A, the exemplary page 400A may be, for example, a video playback page. As shown in Figure 4A, the exemplary page 400A displays the identifier (name, avatar, etc.) of the publisher who made the video public and video description information. In some embodiments, if the video is in a video collection, the exemplary page 400A may also display description information 420 of the video collection to which the video belongs. In response to detecting a trigger operation on the video collection description information 420, the terminal device 140 can display detailed information about the video collection to which the video belongs. If the viewer does not have permission to watch the video, the terminal device 140 may display a consumption entry 410 on the exemplary page 400A to indicate that the current video requires a certain amount of resources to be viewed. The consumption entry 410 may also indicate that the current video supports viewing, i.e., that it has a viewing time for which consumption is waived.
[0075] In some embodiments, the terminal device 140 can also determine the viewing time of a video for which resource consumption indicated by the resource consumption settings is exempted, based on the resource consumption settings set by the publisher. In response to the viewer not having permission to view the video, the terminal device 140 can play the content within the indicated viewing time of the video, and after playback of the content within the indicated viewing time is complete, it can superimpose a consumption entry for receiving resource consumption on the video playback interface. For example, the terminal device 140 can superimpose a consumption entry on the playback interface.
[0076] In some embodiments, after playback of content within the indicated viewing time is complete, the terminal device 140 can obscure the video playback interface, preventing a second user from fully viewing the video screen if they do not provide the requested resources. In some embodiments, the terminal device 140 can superimpose a blur overlay layer on the video playback interface while maintaining video playback, the blur overlay layer being presented so that at least a portion of the video screen is visible. The terminal device 140 can also continue playing the video's audio, in which case the audio is played at a reduced volume. Exemplarily, the terminal device 140 can superimpose a Gaussian blur overlay layer on the playback interface to obscure the video playback interface. This method allows the video to continue playing dynamically under the obscuring layer after playback of content within the viewing time is complete, while simultaneously obscuring the video's content, preventing unauthorized viewers from viewing the video, but allowing them to vaguely perceive that the video still contains content worth continuing to watch.
[0077] In some embodiments, the terminal device 140 can stop playing the video and overlay a consumption entry on the playback interface in response to the completion of playback of content within the viewing time.
[0078] Exemplary, as shown in Figure 4B, terminal device 140 may present the exemplary page 400B shown in Figure 4B in response to the completion of playback of content within the viewing time. As shown in Figure 4B, the exemplary page 400B includes a consumption prompt card 430, which presents prompt information on the amount of resources required to obtain permission to view the video and video-related information (e.g., the name of the video collection to which the video belongs). The consumption prompt card 430 also presents a consumption entry 435.
[0079] In response to detecting a trigger operation on consumption entry 410 of exemplary page 400A, or on consumption entry 435 of exemplary page 400B, terminal device 140 may present a resource transfer interface for transferring resource amounts. In this specification, “transfer” means converting resource amounts associated with one user to resource amounts associated with another user. If the video is not a video in a collection, such a resource transfer interface may be, for example, the resource transfer interface 440 of exemplary page 400C shown in Figure 4C. As shown in Figure 4C, the resource transfer interface 440 presents a region 442 in which relevant information about the video is presented (e.g., video name, video playback count, amount of resources required for the video, etc.). The resource transfer interface 440 also includes a transfer control 460, and in response to receiving a selection operation of the transfer control 460, terminal device 140 may obtain the viewer’s resource amount and allow the viewer to view the video.
[0080] If the current video is included in a video collection, such a resource transfer interface may be, for example, the resource transfer interface 470 on the exemplary page 400D shown in Figure 4D. As shown in Figure 4D, the resource transfer interface 470 presents a region 472 which presents relevant information about the video collection to which the video belongs (e.g., the name of the video collection, the number of times the video in the video collection has been played, the amount of resources required for the video collection, etc.). The resource transfer interface 470 also includes options for consuming different amounts of resources for the video collection (e.g., options 474, 475, and 476). The different options correspond to different videos in the video collection, and in response to receiving a selection operation for any of the options, the terminal device 140 obtains the amount of resources corresponding to the viewer's option, and enables the viewer to view the video indicated by that option. The resource transfer interface 470 may also include a custom option 477.
[0081] As described above, in some embodiments, the collection resource consumption setting for a video collection can represent at least one of the following: the total amount of resources consumed to obtain viewing rights for the video collection, the amount of resources consumed to obtain viewing rights for some of the videos in the video collection, or a custom consumption setting that allows a user to define the resource consumption for viewing rights for one or more videos in the video collection.
[0082] In some embodiments, if the collection resource consumption setting indicates the amount of resources consumed to obtain viewing rights for some(s) of videos in the video collection, the terminal device 140 may receive the amount of resources corresponding to viewing rights for the current video and several subsequent videos via option 474, or the amount of resources corresponding to viewing rights for several videos defined by the first user via option 476. If the terminal device 140 has already received the amount of resources corresponding to viewing rights for one or more videos, including the current video, it may determine that the second user can view these videos.
[0083] In some embodiments, if the collection resource consumption setting indicates a custom consumption setting, the terminal device 140 can receive the custom resource consumption entered by the second user based on the custom option 477. From the entered custom resource consumption, the terminal device 140 can determine one or more videos for which the viewer wishes to obtain viewing rights, and based on that information, obtain the amount of resources required for viewing rights to these videos, thereby enabling the viewer to have viewing rights to the corresponding one or more videos. If the custom resource consumption entered by the second user indicates resource consumption for viewing rights to at least the current video, the terminal device 140 can determine that the second user has viewing rights to the current video and allow the second user to play the current video.
[0084] In some embodiments, if the collection resource consumption setting indicates the total amount of resources consumed to obtain viewing rights for a video collection, the terminal device 140 may provide the resource transfer interface 470 with another option (not shown) to allow a second user to input the total amount of resources corresponding to the viewing rights for that video collection. Upon receiving the total amount of resources, the terminal device 140 may determine that the second user can view all videos in the video collection, including the current video.
[0085] In some embodiments, the resource transfer interface 470 may also include a transfer control 460. In response to receiving a selection operation of the transfer control 460, the terminal device 140 can obtain that the amount of resources transferred by the second user, i.e., the amount of resources consumed by the second user, has been transferred to the first user. This allows the second user to have the right to view videos in the video collection. It should be understood that after the terminal device 140 obtains the amount of resources used by the viewer, it updates the viewer's history consumption information to indicate that the viewer consumed resources to obtain the right to view videos.
[0086] In some embodiments, after determining that the viewer has the right to view the current video, the terminal device 140 can play the entire content of the video. If the terminal device 140 obtains the viewer's resource amount via a consumption entry and the viewer has the right to view, and the terminal device 140 has already superimposed a blur overlay layer on the video playback interface after the content within the viewing time has finished playing, the terminal device 140 can continue playing the video from after the viewing time and cancel the superimposition of the blur overlay layer. That is, regardless of how far the video was previously playing under the blur overlay layer, after the terminal device 140 determines that the viewer has the right to view the video, it continues playing the video from the point corresponding to the viewing time. The terminal device 140 may present, for example, an exemplary page 400E as shown in Figure 4E. As shown in Figure 4E, the terminal device 140 presents video content and a prompt element 480 indicating that the user has the right to view on the exemplary page 400E.
[0087] In some embodiments, the terminal device 140 can obtain video identification information (e.g., video cover image, video name, amount of resources corresponding to the video) indicated by the resource consumption settings set by the publisher. Based on the identification information, the terminal device 140 can construct and provide a consumption guidance interface that includes at least the video identification information and consumption entries. The consumption guidance interface can be provided to the viewer of the work at an appropriate time. For example, a recommendation interface for the video can be provided to recommend that the viewer consume specific resources to watch the video. In some embodiments, a specific page can be provided, which provides a collection of videos that cannot be viewed without consuming resources. On that page, the identification information indicated in the video resource consumption settings can be used to construct and provide a consumption guidance page (also called a video details page) for each video, guiding the user to consume the corresponding resources to obtain viewing rights for each video.
[0088] As shown in Figure 5, Figure 5 shows a schematic diagram of an exemplary page 500 including a consumption guidance interface according to some embodiments of the present disclosure. The exemplary page 500 presents a video consumption guidance interface 510. The consumption guidance interface 510 presents a video cover image 511, the amount of resources required to obtain viewing rights for the video (e.g., "XX resource amount"), the video name, etc. The consumption guidance interface 510 also provides a user identifier of the publisher who made the video public (e.g., user avatar, username) and a follow control 513 for following the publisher. The consumption guidance interface 510 also provides a slide control 512 and a transfer control 514. In response to receiving a slide operation of the slide control 512, the terminal device 140 can present more information about the video to the consumption guidance interface 510. In response to detecting a selection operation of the transfer control 514, the terminal device 140 can obtain the amount of resources transferred by the viewer and allow the viewer to have viewing rights for the video shown in the consumption guidance interface 510.
[0089] In some embodiments, the publisher of the work constructs a consumption guidance interface based on identification information, such as title and cover, indicated in the resource consumption settings. The consumption guidance interface can be provided to the viewer of the work, i.e., a second user, at an appropriate time. For example, a recommendation interface for the video can be provided, recommending that the user consume a specific resource to watch the video. In some embodiments, a specific page can be provided, which contains a collection of videos that can only be viewed by consuming resources. On that page, an identification information indicated in the video's resource consumption settings can be used to construct and provide a consumption guidance page (also called a video details page) for each video, guiding the user to consume the corresponding resource to obtain viewing rights for each video.
[0090] In summary, embodiments of this disclosure enable publishers of works to voluntarily and flexibly set viewing permissions for their works as needed. This expands the types of works publishers can publish and helps publishers gain access to more resources. This type of publication can be recommended to the application's recommended content feed as needed, and viewers who require it can acquire viewing permissions by transferring the corresponding resources.
[0091] Exemplary process Figure 6 shows a flowchart of the process 600 for video publication according to several embodiments of the present disclosure. Process 600 can be implemented on terminal device 120. Process 600 will be described below with reference to Figure 1.
