AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

When an oscillation signal from an external power supply device malfunctions during charging, causing the control device to erroneously activate and consume the power of a second power storage device, leading to a decrease in stored electricity, especially when the first power storage device is fully charged, preventing the vehicle from starting in a fully charged state.

Method used

Implementing a detection unit to identify abnormalities in the pilot signal, followed by countermeasure control to restrict the activation of the control device, including software-based sleep mechanisms and power supply from the first power storage device to the second, thereby preventing unnecessary power consumption.

Benefits of technology

The solution effectively suppresses power consumption in the second power storage device by avoiding erroneous activations, ensuring the vehicle can maintain a fully charged state and operate as intended, even with abnormal pilot signals.

Abstract

To curb a reduction in a power storage amount of a second storage battery device due to abnormality of a pilot signal without uniquely prohibiting activation of a control device at certain time such as time when a first storage battery is fully charged.SOLUTION: An output section 13 of an external power source device 10 is connected to an input section 21 of an electric vehicle 60. A charging device 25 charges a first storage battery device 30 with electric power input through the input section 21. A control device 50 controls the charging device 25 by being activated with the electric power of a second storage battery device 40 in response to a pilot signal P from the external power source device 10. A detection section of the control device 50 detects abnormality of the pilot signal P. A coping section of the control device 50 executes coping control on the basis of detection of the abnormality so as to make a reduction in a power storage amount of the second storage battery device 40 due to the abnormality lower than the reduction without execution of the coping control.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
